This Honey Garlic Cornish Hen Will Make Your Mouth WATER!
Indulge in this mouthwatering Honey Garlic Cornish Hen recipe! Perfect for a delicious and impressive meal. Cornish hens never tasted so good!
Cornish Hens with Dirty Rice Stuffing
Garlic Honey Glaze.
Ingredients:
For the Cornish Hens:
2 Cornish hens
4 tbsp butter (softened)
3/4 tbsp honey
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp Kinder Roasted Chicken seasoning
1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
1 tbsp Maggi seasoning
1 tbsp Slap Ya Mama seasoning
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp kosher salt
Fresh herbs:
1 tbsp chopped thyme
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp chopped sage
1 tbsp chopped rosemary
For the Dirty Rice Stuffing:
2 lbs chicken livers
1 cup white rice
1/2 cup wild rice
1 tbsp chicken bouillon or broth
1 tbsp Maggi seasoning
1 tbsp Slap Ya Mama seasoning
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp kosher salt
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped red pepper
1 cup chopped onion
1 stick celery (chopped)
For the Garlic Oil Base:
2 tbsp garlic oil or regular oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp Slap Ya Mama seasoning
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp Kinder Roasted Chicken seasoning
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp flat-leaf parsley
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp kosher salt
1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
Instructions:
Prepare the Dirty Rice Stuffing:
Cook the white and wild rice according to package instructions, using chicken bouillon or broth instead of water for added flavor. Set aside.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add chopped onion, green pepper, red pepper, and celery. Sauté until softened.
Season chicken livers with half of the blended seasoning mixture and sauté them until cooked through. Dice the cooked livers and mix with the sautéed vegetables and cooked rice. Add Maggi seasoning and adjust salt to taste. Set aside.
Prepare the Cornish Hens:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). I cook these @ 350°F
Rub the Cornish hens with the softened butter mixed with the remaining blended seasoning mixture. Ensure even coverage, including under the skin for extra flavor.
Stuff each Cornish hen with the prepared dirty rice mixture. Tie the legs with kitchen twine if necessary.
Roast the Cornish Hens:
Place the hens in a roasting pan. Brush them with a mixture of honey and minced garlic for a glossy finish.
Roast in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden brown and crispy.
Prepare the Garlic Oil Base:
Mix the garlic oil with the listed seasonings and use it to baste the hens every 20 minutes during roasting. This will enhance flavor and keep the hens moist.
Serve:
Remove the hens from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before carving. Serve with the dirty rice stuffing on the side, garnished with fresh parsley.
