Amazing video, i have one question so i changed the control arms on my car with figs engeering and my car when i drive the height goes up automatically and once am parked it goes back to lower height i have a 2005 LS430 UL Any suggestions whats causing it to do like that. Thank you
All my panel light switch lights up for a few mins and turns off. Ac control audio controls power mode suspension rear sunshade all those switches. Any idea why can you help me out?
Thank you bro. I need replacement one light
Thank you! Had one of the lil buttons pop in there and didn’t want to break it.
Brother.. do you know how top replace the shifter lever plate that moves with the gear selector when you shift from p to r to d etc. Thanks
Have not run into that issue before. Might be apart of the shifter assembly?
Do you know if there’s a fuse for the am and fm bottoms? They are not illuminated.
Not certain, would like to believe all lights would be out if it was a fuse of sorts. Would check lights attached to units along with wiring.
This is a great video. I see your GROM is mounted right behind that first panel, that is awesome. I am still trying to decide where to route that main cable for the GROM BD. Do you have a video for the GROM installation?
Unfortunately I do not, I had a local auto stereo shop install it.
U say "before removal of bolt, mark with something" Mark what and why? This would be one instruction that you don't illustrate clearly.
Where do you mount the replacement lighter and plug it into?
❤
I broke one tab :/
I was hoping you'd take the rest of the shifter indicator panels off to expose how you'd go about changing the light bulb in there. I'm np0ot even sure if ours lights up, we've only had it close to two weeks now. I'd like to put LED bulbs in all interior lights. I imagine it'll be pretty self explanatory once I get as far as you did here though. Thanks for the video 👍
From where you ordered the light?
Dealership
Where is the fuse for these lights. None of them are working?
I have an 03 that my rear reading lights will not turn off. When I hit the button they go from bright/on to dimly lit and still on. This is draining my battery and I'm not having any luck resolving. Do you happen to have any suggestions? Thanks
I personally never run into this issue, could see this being a bad switch? Is only a guess so take it with a grain of salt lol
How do you bench test these to see if they went bad? Both my rear struts bottomed out but the struts and compressor are ok. I’m thinking it’s the height sensors or rear main controller?
The best way for me to test was to use a scan tool that let me see the data from each sensor. However you can measure resistance from the sensor itself. There is a lexus form online that tells you what the values should be.
I've been trying to narrow down what the issue with my UL might be. I don't think it's the struts, I think it might be the height sensors. I have a controller installed to work with the factory air suspension and one of the pages shows the height on all four corners. The rear-passenger is always off (shows as if it is aired out all the way when in reality it is in half the travel, visually). Funny thing is that that corner is not the issue; it is diagonally across the car (the front-driver). This side randomly decides to air all the way up when driving (almost a 7" gap in the wheel-well) and I think this causes the rear-driver to also rise. I have to park the car and toggle between my presets for it to regulate itself. Once it fully reaches my desired height setting, the front-driver will start to rise again. It's annoying. I really don't want to castrate it by replacing the suspension with coilovers, does this kinda indicate that the issue might be with the height sensors?
Oh man I went through something similar. I assume you're running a data controller(ac680)? I had a few times the car would go full low rider on me. Front left would air up and right rear would air down. My data controller was starting to not show the left rear sensor from time to time and then other issues popped up so I replaced it. But it didn't fully fix my issue of the car going full low rider. After removing my data controller in preparation to go aftermarket the car was acting fine. I would disconnect your data controller and see if it changes anything. That way you don't gotta go and spend $$$ on a sensor.
@@manyvermin8854 that's spot on and yes that's the controller I have. Mine sometimes doesn't show one of the rears, I don't remember. I'll give that a try. Thanks. What did you end up doing on yours?
@@alejandroramos9058 i will buy a car that have exactly the same problem and same controller, did you two re-installed the controller after replacing or not the height sensor ? i want to use the controller properly, it's one of the reason i buy this car
@@yamamichiuniverse1383 After I replaced the height sensor most of my issues went away. But I had removed my data controller to go aftermarket route. Removing the data controller had totally fixed my issue. I am un sure of what went wrong and caused the data controller to act weird.
@@alejandroramos9058 I ended up removing all OEM air from the vehicle and went aftermarket air route. I have air runner struts and air lift performance management.
Hello, can you please tell me the name and model of the phone holder, that is mounted in the casette player? Thank you
Hello, its actually custom made. I 3D printed a piece to fit into the cassette player then took a magnetic phone mount and stuck it onto it.
@@manyvermin8854 That is a clever idea. Would you be willing to sell one to me? I cannot find a holder that will stay in the cassette player.
Donde puedo comprar un sensor de altura ?
I purchased mine through a Toyota dealership. You might be able to get one from a auto parts store. Not 100% sure.
@@manyvermin8854 hi, can you tell what price did you paid ?
@@yamamichiuniverse1383 I belive I paid nearly $400? I don't exactly remember.
Thanks now I can change the Gear Shift Indicator Bulb
Hahaha same here
All my backlights dont work, including the “power, ect, snow” and the buttons that surround the navigation screen. Would it be a wiring issue?
Oh man thats an interesting one. I would like to assume so, possibly a fuse? I'm really not sure though.
Can you take a video of hydraulics?
Unfortunately I cannot. I have converted from OEM air suspension to aftermarket air suspension.
Is the bulb a t1 or t3 size buld i plan on doing an led conversion in mines
I belive these lights are already LED's but if I had to guess it would be a T1 size. I am unfortunately not 100% sure though.
@@manyvermin8854 yeah ik just wanted to know the size to change the led color ive seen one with red back lit leds
@@PROJECTIRONWOLF1 did you ever find the size of the bulbs and do you have a link where you ordered yours from
@@JTRAMMZ i wish i knew but haven't bought some yet still working on my suspension on the 430 but ill keep you updated if i ever get to doing so
Same way to remove the cig lighter ?
cool mod
Thanks for sharing! I have two light bulbs out for the audio control these are seek track and ch prog disc with arrow lights. How hard is it to replace these?
You're welcome! For the lights in question I am honestly not sure. I can't imagine it would be too difficult. That unit comes out very easy. Once the lower switch panel is out there is 2x 10mm screws(I think) on the sides then clips(similar clips to switch panel). After that there are plugs(they're keyed) then the whole CD player assembly should come right out.
My 2004 LS 430's headlights won't level after start up, they both aim too low and stay there. There are no errors on the dash except for 1 day the afs light was flashing when I went to the store, and then it went out after I started up and drove home from the store. I suspect one of the height sensors could be the issue? What do you think? And, would a diagnostic tool be able to determine whether the front or back sensor is bad? Wouldn't want to guess. Thanks.
I had similar symptoms to you. My AFS light would flash randomly and my left headlight would randomly dip too. I used my works code reader to find out one of my height sensors was going out. I then found a pdf from "lexuy.pl" that shows how to test the sensor and it also tells you which sensor it is based on the code.
@@manyvermin8854 awesome, thanks so much
Where did you order your lights?
I ordered them straight from Lexus. You can do the same but it might be more expensive than getting them elsewhere.
@@manyvermin8854 Thank you for sharing this informative video. From my experience, always use OEM parts for best quality & performance. Thank you again.
What does this sensor do? And what are the symptoms of its malfunctions? Thanks for sharing the experience
Hello! Depending on your cars trim the functions differ slightly but its needed nonetheless. The height sensor on a Ultra Luxury LS430 functions as a sensor that tells the air suspension ECU where the strut is in relation to the car. An example where this is used is when you load up the car. Lets say you put 500lbs in the trunk and the rear of your car is sqauting, the sensor would tell the air suspension ecu "hey we're not level, level off the vehicle". This sensor also works with the cars AFS system(all 430's with a AFS switch on the dash next to the steering wheel). Which is your swivel headlights and auto level lights. How I figured out my sensor went bad was my left headlight would dip or "hi height" would flash on the dashboard. I then scanned the car with an OBD2 code reader and was able to find out which sensor in particular.
Oh? Does the automatic mirror switch and/or parking sensor switches have these lights? Thank you.
I'm not sure about that one. I can find out but not for a few days.
Just finished: ETC, SNOW and HI/LOW height. LOUD “ SHOUT OUT!” Thank you, and l didn’t break anything major (well small piece of one section holding the 3 screws holding unit in) but “se le viv” until next 193,000 miles. Perfection searching is a thing we wannabe mechs have. Bravo Sir.
I'm glad it was helpful. As not seeing any videos on these lights being replaced I figured I share my knowledge.
