@kinnysmith5851 very cool. I'm hoping ours lasts awhile. I'm spraying vinyl protectant on the liner covering the too frame. I'm glad to know it can last that long.

I bought them on Amazon. They came in a pack of 20.

I'm trying to get it cleared up. I need to change out the sand in the sand filter and also replace winter cover every year.

@@angelateichman3063 you need to pour like two full gallons of shock in it and keep the pump on

​@JayFarm_23 you don't just pour lots of chemicals into the pool. Doing this could damage the liner. I had to change out the sand in my sand filter. I did shock it twice which made it easier to use a brush and the vacuum to get rid of the algae.

@@angelateichman3063 ma'am I didn't say pour a bunch of chemicals in your pool I said to super shock it just like anyone else would.

​@@JayFarm_23Use like 9 gallons of chlorine and scrub the walls each day and it will take about 4 days to clean. No other chemicals needed.

Hayward Pump and filter

I live in the Midwest where we get cold weather and snow.

It took a couple days because I didn't run the hose at night.

Sorry it was hard to hear me. I installed a Hayward through the wall skimmer and am running a Hayard 1.5 hp pump with 150 pound sandfilter.

We filled pool to just below where the skimmer and return was then used a 1 and 1/2 inch return piece and traced it with permanent marker. On the skimmer side, we cut it once we installed the skimmer on the outside. There are videos on UA-cam of others doing this to their pools.

@@angelateichman3063 I've seen more videos than i can count, just not catching on I guess...I've seen videos where they talk about cutting out the drain plug, but im not sure why...or how you would drain the pool?

They aren't meant for intex metal framed pools but can work. Unfortunately this one didn't work out for this pool because I didn't measure the walls first. My walls were 48 inches tall same as the overlap liner.

I don't but they are I believe inch and a half pvc clips which I ordered on Amazon.

How did the liner hold up?

@Ashley Denson it would have held up fine had it been the right size but it was for up to 52 wall and mine was 48. I might try installing it again once original pool liner gets too many holes. I needed help centering it. I am using original pool liner for now.

My new pool is 20ft by 48 inches. The pool in this video was 15ft by 42 inches. The measurements to your pool should be on the side somewhere or in your paperwork.

I did however I didn't center it properly and I needed more depth to it so I removed it and just filled the pool. It was a brand new pool so I wanted the overlap in it to prevent leaks.

I got them from Amazon. They were 16 or so for 20 of them. They would have worked well if my pool wasn't so tall. Wall height on mine was 48 inches and the liner went to 52.

Yes but had to cut material around the opening to make it square.

I do as well. I installed an overlap liner and it worked great all summer. I'm getting ready to take it down and try moving it to our new house. Depending on the depth of your pool get a liner with a few extra inches of depth. My pool is 42 inches and I got a 48 to 52 inch overlap which worked great and also protects the frame from rusting.

It wasn't hard at all. Once you have overlap liner in, fill pool to a few inches below where your skimmer opening and return opening will be then cut out the opening. You will definitely want to replace the skimmer. On my Summer Waves Pool, the skimmer gasket screwed on by hand. I replaced it with the Hayward 109LX Dyna skimmer available on Amazon. I paid $62 and it came with everything I needed including a upgraded 1 and 1/2 inch return line jet. It is better quality and screws into the liner. I did this because the one that screwed in by hand wouldn't be tight enough and would allow water to leak between the original liner and the overlap liner. The only issue I had was water wanted to leak where the skimmer opening is in between the two liners where I cut it out. I sealed it with JB water weld and haven't had any issues since. I plan to leave my pool up this winter since I didn't want to chance removing the overlap liner and damaging it. It's good you have a sand filter. I recommend cutting out to 1 and 1/2 inch opening for your return line. Your filter will do much better. There are several helpful videos on UA-cam. Good luck

They are the 1 and 1/2 inch clips. I got 10 for 14.99 on Amazon. I put 20 on my pool and it was about 30. One word of advice sand down the corners on the part that's inside of your pool to avoid popping your pool floaties.

My pool is a 15ft by 42 inch pool. I bought a 15ft by 52 inch liner and the extra just hangs over. If you bought a 16 ft by 48, you should be fine. You just won't have as much extra overlap like mine.

I bought it on marketplace for $50. Good place to check before you order anywhere else. People bought it and didn't use it.
