Great to see an interview with Steve. I used to love his video reviews (maybe WhatCar days?) and always enjoyed his editorial content as it avoided the preachy tone that some others seem to fall in to. Great to see him doing new things.

USG has had good innings - I think I got mine around 2016, I used it for 2 weeks and then threw it into a drawer... I've only just recent re-tried Unifi for routing, and now running the UxG MAX, I was shocked that they still had not added NAT'ing management... Until now that is! Finally, UBNT are on fire at the moment, exciting times.

CORRECTION: In this episode we mentioned that the Dacia Spring doesn't have DC Rapid charging on the entry level trim. However, all versions do in fact have 30kW DC support, alongside 7kW AC.

Great podcast! I hope that packet capture is brought below the enterprise fortress gateway but it may not given the apparent overhead processing required for any usable throughput.

Next week I'll be replacing udmse with udmpromax. Of all the udmpros and udmses this udmpro I'm replacing isn't handling well it's 100 unifi devices and ~350 client devices. I've been watching all youtube reviews and talks about the pro max and what I'm looking for in the videos, is talks about the 1Gbit/s built in switch. How it performs. I think it's funny to have the 8ports there, with shared 1Gbit/s. It's strange if it's to be called enterprise and with no poe, you'll only be connecting uplinks from switches. But with that limited built in switch you will only use one port and use some other more capable switch. It's all weird to me. Why didn't they have the built in switch more capable because if bothered to have there. It's like a decorative thing there now.

They really should have named the ultra stuff lite or flex. I don’t really like the Ultra branding I think it can be very confusing

I just wish there was a version of udm-pro/se that could handle more clients than it currently does. There is a demand for a unifi wan router with integrated unifi controller that can candle few hundred clients, 100+ APs, few vlans etc. I have quite many SE and Pro in various sites, but It's unstable and with funny issues when the the environment gets big. Sorry about my english, not my native language.
