Thanks. Good to know he's OK
Yes hope he's still around
@@gjohnint I hope he’s ok.
@@gjohnint heard from John tonight. He’s doing ok, just taking some time away from social media. Took his channel offline temporarily.
Has anyone heard from John Bain? No vids available
@@gjohnint I was looking for his channel yesterday and couldn’t find it. I hope he’s ok. Maybe he just has it off line for some reason… let’s hope.
I listen to Ray Wylie Hubbard and he references Freddy King and many others in his catalogue. Because of him, I began listening to a bunch of them also. I enjoyed visiting. Peaceful days to you
Never buy filtered system pipes. It defeats the whole purpose. You need the narrow draw hole (preferably with a condenser like in Peterson Deluxe System) for the thing to function as intended.
Remember the King Biscuit flour hour?
Love Allman Brothers and Creme! Over the last few years I've really started loving on the Grateful Dead
Music can def heal you. I don't know if the YTPC truly knows how ACTUALLY a big DEAL you were....and are! :)
@@PaladinPiper I’m not a big deal, I was just lucky enough to get to do something I love.
Been a little behind on watching videos battled a cold for 3 weeks. I had a friend who was incredible on an acoustic guitar man he could make it sing. He tried to teach me to play after a few months he's like you haven't been practicing I showed him my fingers that were bloody and scabbed he said forget it's hopeless we had a great laugh at that point. Living in South West Pa we always had country music mostly guitarists we listened to were Chet Atkins and of course the best in my opinion Roy Clark. Don't know if you listen to jazz, but George Benson is very good. I agree with you about sitting down with a good pipe and remembering the people that are gone now like my friend Chuck who left us way to soon that tried to teach Mr All Thumbs to play guitar hahaha! Hope all goes well for you and your family and friends. God bless.
Good Morning Johnny! So good to see you back to posting vids. Really good to hear you had a great day - we all need those "PunchOut" from the world days. You have forgotten more about music than I will ever know - I learn something whenever you talk about it. Tower Records - now there's a blast from the past.
I enjoyed the tangent brother. Prayers for your friends. Humidity level and temperature can cause havoc with wooden instruments
Onion its was good seeing you on the You Tube brother. How you been brother.
Good Morning 😊 Beautiful Pipe , I Like The Blue Stem 😍Thanks For Sharing Your Introduction To The Blues 🎶🎵🎶 Have a Wonderful Wednesday and Happy Piping 🌬💨💨 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
I sent you an email an hour ago about music. I loved the Grateful Dead.
Interesting hearing about your introduction to the blues. As a teenager I listened first to Jimmy Reed and loved his music. Then all the Kings, and then the real king of the blues - Muddy Waters. And, then it just kept expanding. But I still enjoy the easy rolling, slurring blues of Jimmy Reed.
I was into harmonica when I was younger. I saw James Cotton & Charlie Musselwhite perform. (Not together). It was something. I never got good enough to play in front of people. But it was fun.
Loved the harp players! Cotton was the first, then Little Walter, Sonny Boy II and Sonny Boy I , Paul Butterfield, Paul Oscher, Jimmy Reed, Jerry Portnoy, Big Walter Horton…so many greats.
Awesome Mike!
@@OldUncleMike harp is a blast to play, I never played it in front of anyone but I used to carry a whole set in my truck and I’d blow along to my tapes and CDs on road trips lol. Charlie Musselwhite is one of the nicest kindest gentlest human being you will ever meet. Truly one of the best of the good guys on this planet!
@@2ampipeonthepatio I tried chromatic but my moustache kept snagging in the holes when I used the slide.
@ I had enough trouble with ten holes!
My first blues concert was Howlin Wolf and Willie Dixon. Less than a year later the Wolf was gone. I've seen quite a few that I'm sure you also saw. Several that you mentioned for sure. You are one lucky man to have witnessed and played with some of the best. If we ever cross paths I am sure we would have quite the conversation and stories to tell.❤🎸✌️ Love the Blues and of course rock n roll!.
That’s what happened with Albert King, saw him in March and he was gone on my birthday Dec 21.
Hey buddy, Clapton is amazing . It’s just not like that today. Muddy waters, Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis for me… Thanks for sharing. Blessings from Pa….
Man I love Miles
Hey Johnny - so good to see you! Hear Hear - sit and enjoy your pipe - be quiet and let the world talk to you! I am a 100% sitter when smoking my pipe. Don't jam your pipe time into a time you are doing something else. Good to here Denny is at then end of her PT - been a long road. Hopefully more good times are ahead for you and your family. We've all had the bad times too... "I wouldn't change a thing" - amen brother. Life has left a lot scars and I believe that's where are brilliance comes from. Now it's our turn to be the lighthouse - maybe help someone else not get the same scars. Love you man.
Reflecting on our lives is def one of the positive attributes about being alive.
Great video. I hope your dreams come true brother
We got up to 33F today. My brother ( we are Irish ) just got back from Ireland about 4 months ago. He loved the place. There is actually a town there called " Quilty. " There is also a Irish singing group call " The Quiltys. " You can google them and listen to a few songs. So glad Sadie is back at work and hopefully Denny will be soon.
Europe is my dream. If I will the lottery we’re going to Europe!
Good seeing you back, my friend. I agree sooo much, I also sit with my pipe 100% of the time. And enjoy all things you said, dream, remember, listen to nature, enjoy nature, enjoy time to reflect, thankful for all I have and listen to God. And the most precious gift God has given since I retired is just that "time" to enjoy my pipe and the time to enjoy the quietness. I hope and pray all goes well for Denni's doctor appt. and that she can hopefully get back to work. Take care and God Bless my Friend
I would love Ireland also. Some of my favorite musicians are from there. Van the Man and Rory Gallagher. The Chieftains in a pub would be a great time. 🎸☘️
@@jeffd1147 ah Rory, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, love the Chieftains and the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem!
Great to see another video, brother. God Bless!
Ireland is a great trip. Went for my honeymoon 14 years ago
Great to see you, Johnny. Nothing wrong with dreaming.
Hiya Johnny great listening to you tonight. Made me think about going to county Cork in Ireland where my mum's family originated from. I'm in Dover Kent so don't have as far too travel. Need a kick up the backside sometimes. So thank you for making me think about that again. Perhaps ill pull my finger out one day. Take it easy mate see you soon. SI ✌😎.
@@simonmartin5284 my family is from County Cork and County Claire. Someday I will get there! We are starting the process for our passports now…
Italy is one of the most beautiful places on earth, i was stationed there in the early 90s, beautiful people. i could live there no problem, in Northern Italy. And from there you can hop on a train and be anywhere in Europe in a short time. Do yourself a favor, go!! dont put it off.
Nice pipe and not a cheap one. I sold my 1937 Dunhill in mint condition for $500...... glad your wife is doing alot better. It's stressful when stuff like that happens. Just glad she's OK. You got me hooked on the Brown Irish and black Irish twist and I found rum twist too. They all kick my butt if I smoke them too hard. Good to see you my friend ❤ you already won the lottery with what you have there my brother

Sebastian is a good fella for sure. I'm glad her arm didn't get hurt again in the fall. The bubble wrap might be a good idea😂 I miss having a garage with all my tools in it. It was very handy
Oh you almost blew it for me Onion. I taped the game and hadn't watched it yet so I have to put the mute button on. 🤣Always good to see you Onion.
Onion, That’s not bad. It’s still in the 20’s here. Enjoy the pipe. That was also a good package . Enjoy and blessings from Pa…. Go Pirates….

Curious, if you are comfortable sharing...why did you move cross country to VA?
My wife was offered a job at a hospital out here in Salem Va. and after discussing it, she decided to accept it. I always wanted to retire in the Blue Ridge and Salem is in the Blue Ridge so it was perfect! We absolutely love it here and have no regrets at all!
Well ello friend. I was just telling Skip we haven't watched you in a while. Cheers. Doc Martin's are the best boots! 😅😊
Boy Howdy! S G Balkans... you can't go wrong there.
Pipes
Just wanted to say thank you for showing the actual process, seen many talk of it and tell about the presses but not the actual process including the paper, I got myself some food grade waxed paper for burger patties as I'm experimenting with a much smaller pollen press to start with, if I get the technique down I plan to scale up.
@@CKFindlay I’m glad this helped you! My pleasure! If you have any questions let me know! Have fun with it… mix different tobaccos together and see what you come up with. It’s great fun!
Such a great and pleasant video to watch Mr! I think you are the archetype of a no nonsense experienced pipe smoker. Regards from Sweden
Brier
@@BretBrin well you’d be wrong. It actually says right on the pipe itself Root Briar.
Wanting a 320 but wondering why the Mia Rusticated 320 is so much cheaper than the rest? Any ideas why?
@@Kyle3x usually it is due to the finish, the grain in the wood, the stem material, and any rings, embellishments on the pipe/stem. ie silver, gold, stainless steel, bone etc
@ I’m bout to buy it. I have mostly 111s
@ well I hope you love it as much as I love mine!
We all want you to drag out your guitar and amp and crank some blues for 2 or 3 minutes on a video ❤❤❤❤ i think I speak for many
