------------------------------------------------
Dear Audionauts, we are excited to announce that the IBP has officially decoded the entirety of the classic 2576 album PROJECT: UBIYTSA by The Cosmonauts. We are offering this exciting opportunity through our radio channels (see above). To all the Sleeper Cells who may be activated by prior beats performed by The Cosmonauts, we guarantee this album is activation-free. Below is our original entry into the IBP Collection for PROJECT: UBIYTSA.
The struggles of the members of The Cosmonauts have been documented before by the Intergalactic Beets Project. After escaping Earth's (Milk Way Galaxy) Union of Soviet Socialist Republics’ Space Program, where they were subjected to experimentation, torture, deprivation, and starvation, they discovered a planet teeming with like-minded (and similar-looking) creatures. In all likelihood, the USSR had farmed the ancestors of The Cosmonauts to beat the United States in intergalactic travel after their failed attempts to beat them to Earth’s Moon. After releasing their second album, And Our Efforts Were Rewarded, the USSR tracked the band's intergalactic tour, intent on snuffing them out before they could spread what they determined to be lies about the horrors of the Roscosmos. To achieve this, they unveiled Project: Ubiytsa, a training program that brainwashed citizens into becoming lethal assassins triggered by, ironically, the music of The Cosmonauts. The plan involved hundreds of sleeper agents who would attend their concerts and, when a particular song started, would be activated and compelled to destroy the band members. When word of this reached The Cosmonauts, they fought back the only way they knew how: with beats. The sleeper agents may have been trained to awaken when they played one of their previously released songs, but they would be powerless against new material. PROJECT: UBIYTSA, their attempt at sonic assassination, became their obsession. Hiding in a remote studio aboard the Orbiter 1K (the shuttle they stole led them to Planet Zhuchka), they worked tirelessly to pump out eight explosive tracks. As with many of the entries in the IBP, the album is thrilling and terrifying, a cosmic journey counterargument representing their own audio sleeper cells. The plan, in essence, was to activate their fans to seek out the would-be assassins and send them packing. The tour and the album were announced simultaneously, and the response was tepid. Fans had just heard And Our Efforts Were Rewarded and the prevailing thought was that the new album was a cash-in. Ticket sales were slow initially, and shows were sparse, but the incidents were limited-false alarms, some rouge firecrackers, but nothing close to the shadow of death. Then, word of mouth began to spread. PROJECT: UBIYTSA caught on, and fans flooded the box office. Suddenly, shows were so jam-packed that the sleeper cells couldn't get tickets. At one such show, The Cosmonauts accidentally launched into a legacy song, and several mindless fans charged the stage, their arms akimbo, their fingers fluttering. But the true fans understood, diving to their rescue with abandon, overpowering the rogue agents and, in one case, moshing them to death. This failure to launch proved to be a massive blow to the USSR, and from recovered documents, the Project was shut down indefinitely. There are those out there who would believe that, at any moment, the assassination plot could be reinstated, and The Cosmonauts are part of that anxious crowd. Unfortunately, they still do not play older music at their live performances in the hopes that those shows will not be their last. PROJECT: UBIYTSA still stands as the ultimate revolutionary measure, a rapid response to threats that, to this day, are faced by freedom and the enjoyment and production of the tastiest beats in the Universe.

Harvee - Hawkish (Give Me Trail Mix!!)
Переглядів 29День тому
Harvee was mad. Eight feet tall, covered in feathers, cawing like a mad-bird, he had already trashed the green room and was intent on finding a stagehand to berate, and possibly eviscerate. What he found was a live television camera and a stunned audience. He was huffing, his wings spread, his eyes bloodshot and wavering. This was not the Harvee that the Universe knew. In fact, not even Harvee ...
The Memorializers - Intergalactic Stroll (Graveyard of Monuments)
Переглядів 2114 днів тому
A fateful family vacation for The Memorializers' lead keyboardist, Gris, in 2985 led to a memory that stuck with her until 3001 when a fateful driving instruction class with future bandmates Moolti and Veeronna brought them together. The trip was to the Graveyard of Monuments in Ugeeke Intergalactic Park, a designation bestowed upon protected lands and points of interest that contribute to the ...
Fuzz In The Corner - Be Kind, Rewind (The Xarian Cassette Archive | Volume 1)
Переглядів 2721 день тому
Not all of the tastiest beats find their way to the mainstream. The superior vinyl format can be a luxury for bands still whipping up melodies in their basements or the back of local dives. For those road warriors, the cassette became the de facto format to spread their musical ideas. Much like the Intergalactic Beets Project, the Xarian Cassette Archive (XCA) set about collecting and preservin...
Hunter Killer Thompson - Fear and Loathing on LV-427 (Fear and Loathing on LV-427)
Переглядів 67Місяць тому
The Intergalactic Two-Wheel Racing Circuit (ITWRC) is known mainly for its unforgiving final race across the harsh deserts of LV-427, a once prosperous and tropical planet in the Zeta Reticuli Galaxy. While there are technically 50 events throughout the Universal Year (including the delightful romps through both the water-dependent Hydrocity and the ICZ tundra), the Death Mint 4000 across LV-42...

Patagium - The Furious Flying Ferrets of the 9th Infantry (Company of Kebegos)
Переглядів 18Місяць тому
The Kebegos were considered fodder for the armies of Mustelid, the fourteenth planet in the Ailammam System. The smallest of the furry inhabitants, they were adept at sneaking inside machinery and causing havoc (see Side B, Track 1: Gremlins). They were loyal to their planet, both domestically and intergalactically. The grandson of one such Kebego was Olekhat Patagium. No longer able to be cons...
Trick/Treat - Pop Sicko (NEAT)
Переглядів 11Місяць тому
Mascarpone Beach walked so that Trick/Treat could run. Soaring on the long-forgotten reward of good times and beach vibes, Trick/Treat firmly planted their roots with the head-bopping screams of NEAT. Much like Mascarpone Beach, Trick Bartlesbeem and Floatinougain Treat were beach bums, content in their lifestyle while leaning heavily into the candy-coated, sugary high that the year-round sun o...
Guez - Guez Who? (Guez Who's Comin' To Dinner)
Переглядів 332 місяці тому
Like many bands in the Intergalactic Beets Project, Guez was the product of revolution. Whether that's from inside the machine or out (in this case, they were machines), resistance can take many forms, and this quartet of androids was molded, perhaps, from the same graven image. However, Models G, U, E, and Z were deceptively different. As with most synthetic organisms, androids follow a progra...
Doctor Teeeeth - Keep The Cavities (Stop That Laughin')
Переглядів 422 місяці тому
Doctor Teeeeth had made a name for themselves with their 2551 album ...of Horrors, a furious romp through the many different structures that had caused the band plenty of nightmares throughout their lives (carnivals, insurance adjustment offices, etc.). However, the band strayed heavily from the limelight due to their monstrous mouths and dagger-like teeth, common among Denteenos. They had empl...

Synthesizer Wrecks - Queen of All Monsters [Single] (Queen of All Monsters)
Переглядів 162 місяці тому
Synthesizer Wrecks was pissed. After the success of her 4300 album Comet At Ya!, it was clear that fame was arriving with all the subtlety of an asteroid. And with this newfound success would come the inevitable copycats. While some were easy to spot (such as misspelled abominations like Sintheesizer Rex or Sympathizer Tex), others went a bit under the radar. One such usage of her likeness did ...
