2000 Ford F-53 Triton V-10 bell housing rattle
This is s rattle sound i am having. I cannot locate it. I recently changed the starter. Maybe something is dangling on the torque converter at the starter? If its the torque converter, i suppose that would explain why i cannot locate a metal on metal sound around the bell housing… because the TQ is suspended in space? I’m graspin at straws here!

Does anyone have the part number for the heater element? Thank you
Just note, this isn't the style door panel from 84-88. Not all C4s are the same.
Sounds amazing

Now I'm just spit ball'n here. 😋 How about just injecting some expanding foam in areas that have solid metal on the inner door, & clamp or blue tape over the panal to the outer door tight until the foam cures. If you ever need to remove the panal, use a long hacksaw blade to slip in between the panal & door & cut thru it. Another idea is the same. Inject a small amount of foam & tape the panal, then cut thru the foam with a hack saw blade. Then apply a thin coating of 2-part epoxy on both sides of the foam you cut thru to make a solid surface. Then apply Duel Lock Fastener Velcro Tape to the perches or foam/epoxy covered buildups!🤔🙄😵. Eh, but who's asking me anyway! I haven't seen my Vette in 12yrs, as its been in a storage unit & been in bad health. My fear is I have no door panels left from Speedy Gonzalez & his cousin Slow Poke Rodriguez & Familia 🐭🐁🐀taking up residence in my Vette. Door panels are the least of my problems............😕 You found a solution that works!👍
xactdamondgo heats the water while you travel
My driver door looks like this. Corvette community for the WIN baby
A little JB Weld will take care of that. I used it to repair my dash where bubba was at and destroyed it. Eeffin morons.
where did you buy the elbos.
some time all you have 2 do is remove the unit take the fan off the motor shaft and add a cpl washers between the fan and motor. what happens is the fan vibrates over against the housing and it binds the motor so it will not turn at correct speed and thus blows a fuse. if the motor turns frzeely without the fan installed then try this before you buy a fan.
the 2 black water lines going to the water heater from the engine are there to heat water in the water heater while traveling.
Great video my blower motor doesnt work and i will be attempting the repair I watched the short one 1first and thought 😮 Thanks
Thank you for your help my door panel broke and the only alternative was to buy a new panel the repair was easy and the door looks great and also Pro-Dec company for the snap-caps was really great and easy to work with thanks
I do wonder why he didn’t show us the drilling ( was it a step bit/ regular bit/ pre drill panel first then metal door etc but definitely a idea video
Nice fixer upper for these plague door panals
Those muffler deletes sound like crap! You should actually change the exhaust! Get some modern cats and some better pipes and some good highflow mufflers! You'll be way happier with the end result! Also she looks like she's putting out some blue smoke!!
Sound is subjective. But yeah she needs help. I think it sounds like a V8 lol
Nice! Thinking about having a shop put valves on right before the stock mufflers. Exited for the sound!
get vavletronic universal mufflers
Hi! Got myself a '93 and am thinking of doing this very same mod. how's the drone - bearable or, uh, harsh? Because if it's not too bad i definitely want a piece of the sound you got going on.
what did you use to seal the pipe or did you just use the clamps??
What do you do if it starts to rain? Just question

Did you post a second video to the first one on heater I loved your video and can use as much help as you have video wise on my 99 winnebago adventurer 37G for getting heat working its getting cold and we live full time in it and working on our hydraulic levelers/slide not working as well as wiring under dash after putting new alternator in it we now have to bypass ignition switch! As well as on board generator has been out had to buy a portable generator! Any help appreciated
Cool idea. Helps keep the body rigid
I can't tell you how much I appreciate guys like you, who put these videos together for the benefit of others. I needed information and you provided it, and more. I just bought a 2003 model and needed to know how to winterize it, and I ended up getting answers to several questions, just from your video. Thanks a million!
😂 aAs a private rvia tech I love videos like this. Wow. Just wow.
Did you post further information about the blower - motor aid system? mine quit working and I have a 60 amp fuse that just blows when you replace it. Dash heat doesn't work either anymore.
Hey nice job Mark. I'm also going with muffler delete on my 96. I like the Corvette Central piece because it has the black tips already welded on. Estimated shipping Jan 2024. Good video, Thanks for posting
Someone was selling a heap of these NOS not long ago, i know that is much more expensive, but it'll look factory perfect again.
Has anyone tried heating up the plastic with a gun to see if it can be bent back to normal?
Other videos online has that
First you settle the tips then deal with the connection

@@shaunfaulds2840 1:40 from me. Nice area on the water. Heres my facebook. facebook.com/schneidm?mibextid=LQQJ4d
Nice work
The “glue” is mastic. You should cut that right after pulling the screws. It makes removal much easier, won’t bend the unit as much and can be done with an insulation knife from Harbor Freight available for just a few bucks.
Thanks for that. I will add that recommendation to my final video on this subject. Boy do I absolutely hate plumbing. It turned out that my water heater had a leak in a factory aluminum weld line on the tank. I had to stop and take the tank in for weld repair. But it came back in good shape and I'll be installing it soon and wrapping up the project. NOTE: You cannot find these same water heaters any longer. If yours breaks, get it repaired at almost any cost, unless you want to retrofit an new water heater.
@@marcschneider6510 I just bought this same exact year and make Winnie. I think my coach heater doesn’t work too
@@johncomments2730 so sorry! Lol. But the RV is high quality and worth your efforts.
I removed my blower today and it was bound up. I removed the fan wheel by removing spring on end and put washer on motor shaft and reassembly. Wheel spins free now. Somehow wheel works its way back and rubs on blower housing. Stupid design. Just a spring clip holding it? I put epoxy on end of clip and shaft to help. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks, but video could've been half the time....
Yes, if i was a semi-professional video maker and i knew up front what the story was and i had felt like editing it more. Its a big job and not for everyone… 47 minutes is small price to pay for avoiding a bullet. If you start this ans cant it, i bet its a $1500 repair at best with the authorized service center. I may reissue the video in a short and concise form when the job is complete. I probably will. Once the path is known, this could be 15 minutes long.
@@marcschneider6510 Good grief, everybody is a critic. Appreciate the work and the time and extra effort you took to film it. I am sure it cost you well more than 47 minutes of your time to provide this free service for the benefit of others. Appreciate it!
Additional comment..thanks for the detailed views so now I know if I get a coolant leak at either the water heater or cabin heat I can go behind the wheel and just bypass both and loop the hoses right there and could go without both heating. Thanks again.
Or you could bypass one or the other. Doesn’t have to be both.
Thank you for being a brave soul to disassemble this. I have a 2000 Itasca and have wondered many times how I would do this if I ever needed. Very well done.
Updated video here ua-cam.com/video/WyRupXNnfic/v-deo.html
Would love to see a video of how you removed it. If you get it out seems like you should be able to find the motor through Grainger etc. Good luck!
We never use that heater because it only works with the engine running.
I have ignored it for sometime, but i was driving in the freezing weather up here in the northeast and I really missed that heater. Normally, I only use the RV during summer, but last year I stayed in Florida until 12/23, and then I had to haul-ass home to NJ before Xmas. It was cold as hell.
@@marcschneider6510 My heater is in the very back under the bed. I worry about the long run of hoes. but so far it has worked ok.
My RV has two heaters. The one in the back is propane and heats the whole RV. I dont usually use it while driving. Im always conserving propane.
By the way, i saw your page. Im a C4 Corvette guy. I have a 1993 6-speed.
@@marcschneider6510 Cool, have had that Camaro for 43 years.
The way might driver side door is busted, this is probably the only repair option I have. Glad I ran across it, will try soon. With as many exposed screw heads in the C4, I might be able to get by with black screws in my black interior although I do have the screw head covers ready
Nice repair! I like how you think outside of the box. Seems like a very functional more permanent repair.
Thanks again Marc. Just completed my 1992 door panel repair. I put three screws in each side of the lighter leather area and two in the black leather area, 6 inches from each side and 3 inches down the panel. The middle one would never tighten completely (even longer) but the two in the black area and the 2 outer ones in the beige area held well without interfering with the glass. This is the best and least expensive solution! Richard in Houston.
Best solution available on the web, THANK YOU Marc! Summarizing, 2 inch self tapping screws after pilot drilling into metal door frame with pan heads covered by color-matching caps towards the back of the door, 1.5 inches in the center and 3/4 or 1 inch towards the front, correct? Richard in Houston
Well it’s a good solution if your not a fanatic about keeping your car 100% OEM. Yes I believe you have summarized accurately.
I think that looks terrible in my opinion! Sorry!
That’s fine because your opinion matters zero on this end. This is for my personal driving enjoyment. It’s not a show car. With that in mind, have you ever faced this problem? Are you a C4 owner? The alternatives paths to a perfect resolution are few. New panel. Or very complicated surgury on the back side that might not work or will itself fail. And I happen to think the snap caps are perfect and unnoticeable. They blend in and you ignore them. You especially pay no attention to them when you are cruising at 100 mph with your other vette compadres. Women and non-vette people pay them zero mind.
@@marcschneider6510 Sorry you can't take feedback. Yeah, i have two corvettes that I keep in stock OEM condition. Not hack jobs. Sorry.
@@MrUrbaniz I can AND DID take criticism fine. All I said was your opinion doesn’t matter on my end. Besides, your a dick for even wasting your time making that comment. And calling my work a “hack job” shows what a loser you actually are. An embarrassment to the corvette community.
works for me.
I’m definitely not doing this to my 40th 😂

7:56 Your Welcome.
The interior of this car, is full of Black screws. Whats another couple. Anyway cool repair I need to do.
Same issue. Do you have photos of the screws ? Self tapping ??? My 93 has exactly same color interior combo. Same polo green.
I recommend self-tapping but I would drill a small pilot hole anyway I think. Just make sure you use Pan Head screws so they hold the snap cap base evenly.
@@marcschneider6510 thanks man I really appreciate that. Will do. One other question I saw the washer but did you use a flat washer too looks like you would have to.
@@rockbailey8516 if memory serves, I may have used a flat washer under the pan head just to secure the snap cap base and prevent the screw from squeezing through the snap cap base and the door panel. On the other hand, using a washer might raise the profile of the screw too much for the snap cap to fit. I don’t recall for sure. I say you try a washer as well but it might not be necessary if the pan head is large enough. Sorry I can’t say for sure but it’s been awhile and my car is under cover currently. Just remember to study the inside of the door first so you place the screw in a place that will not adversely affect anything else.
@@rockbailey8516 measure twice, drill once! Lol
@@marcschneider6510 It worked exactly the way you described. Thank you ever so much for the ingenious solution. If I did boat interiors I might have thought of it. Looks great totally solid.
