I personally think if there actually IS a "counterpart" for Astro it would be a separate sun-themed toon who was killed in some sort of accident and couldn't be revived or become twisted. Also I feel like Astro sharing a body with another toon is a bit random, and I feel like it's a little too similar to sundrop and moondrop from FNAF security breach- but I suppose we'll see what happens.
They also have the same face 1:13 Shelly does sew, it is confirmed between her interaction with Sprout 3:12 Goob also has a full name which is Goobius Gooberton 3:25

hearing them pronounce it qwevler is so funny fsr it sounds right also, looey doesn't ignore shelly- he just doesn't notice her, 'i didnt see you there' is his reason for not talking directly to her in the dialogue- which makes sense bc he *was* the tallest toon before the christmas update and shelly is one of the shortest, I always took it as he just deadass didn't see her, just looked right over her head
