Test of my best pairs of Skate Cross-Country Skis. Both are the top-end 2021 models. Same length. Both are the medium type. Same wax used. Same track conditions.

Congratulations, that was one of the least scientific tests ever! ” same effort”, how do you measure that?! this is exactly why fuel cosumption tests are performed in a laboratory for cars, not on the road. You have no control over parameters that effects the results. Does the skier prefer one ski to the other, has he learned the difference in technique that it takes to master the skis, difference in structure, glider etc, etc.
Not sure this is an apples to apples comparison. What sort of snow was the Fischer designed for? It's like comparing a winter tire to an all-weather tire.
Okay, on that day, I would choose the Fischers to race on. On another day, who knows? Different conditions favor different skis, and it isn’t always predictable, even for the experts. So many variables. It’s what makes the sport so fascinating.
If you are skiing on the sidewalls, your technique needs work. A lot of work. Remember basics of friction physics: The actual friction is the coefficient of friction between the materials times the force between them. When skiing, all of the force should be transmitted through the base, not the sidewall! And, by the way, Rossignol had the exact same gimmick as far back as 1993.

What exactly is this supposed to prove??? Are you aware that the pros do have 15 or even more pairs of identical skis from the same brand, with the only difference being the structure of the gliding zones? And this structure is extremely important when it comes to speed. Racing skis do have very specific structures that will work great in specific conditions, but if you move outside of their corridor, the performance will drop significantly. So the only thing you know for sure now is that the Fischer on that specific day in these specific conditions was faster.
Ths is not correct. I am assisting pros with skis and they are surely not identical. Many skis based on the same construction, but picked quite differently before being grinded with structures matching the ski characteristics. This was of glide testing skis is nevertheless not optimal, as length does not equate to time. The intervall (loop) test I would say is relevant as it measures the specific skiers ability on each ski. In the end this is more important than glide.
Basically this is what I was trying to say. A „stiff“ ski is not automatically suited well for everybody from 80 to 100 kgs. Each and every ski manufactured is slightly different, and that is even within the same brand. Let alone different conditions. You could see Fischer skis suck in icy conditions in the IBU races last winter due to their slightly rounded, „waxable“ edges. In the end, skis will work differently whenever conditions change, and just doing a test on a single day will not at all provide valuable information about the quality of a ski.

1. Fischer Speedmax 3D is fast no doubt about it. The 610 construction is fine. To be fair by comparing the Speedmax 3D with other skis, you should really not take the S9, but the S9 Carbon. 2. Fisher top end skis in general dont handle well at all, Speedmax 3D included. 3. In terms of technology, the gliding sidewall is practically a non event, more of a marketing thing. Should you really want to have "technology" try Rossignol X-IUM Premium, Salomon S/Lab Carbon or some other ski which has better torsional ridgitity then Fischer Speedmax 3D. By comparing the glide you should do more laps and change the skis after each lap in order to minimize the cardiac drift, changes in RPE during the efforts and other efects. More important is how the ski glides between 5 and 20 km compared to the glide right after waxing during first few km.
Sorry, there is no proper specification - the S9 used in the test are the carbon version too of course. All the other things are just results, which have came out that particular day in those particular conditions.
How much better would Simen Kruger be on Fischers?
Probably 0% better. You cant compare the ski bought in shop with the proffesionals one. I had maybe just luck for a decent pair, or they just fit me better, etc. ...
Kruger runs on gen-s version, and we saw how he well behave in last race. my personal test of gen-s showed better gliding compared to s9 and s-lab and relatively old Fischer. There is no professional non professional term for salomon/atomic - they don't have sport dedicated production line instead of Fischer - especially with single length of gen-s skis. So no doubt original structure for gen-s you preorder for next year will be same as for Krueger. But of course Norway team has 3 SteinSchliff machines traveled with them so exact structure for that race is unknown i guess. Fisher doesn't have more technology - it just plain piece of wood inside :) that doesn't have enough torsion rigidness, and doesn't have any course stability, 3d gliding - same funny thing as tip holes pure marketing.
What about Fischer versus Salomon S-lab carbon?

+Thea kristine yea i remember. 463. its south-west part of the island. ive been there twice. still same location. unfortunately, on that part of the island, there are still rooms before reconstruction only, but i think that doesnt matter, because you just sleep there. south east side is more windy and you have in my opinion bad view on water bungalows and is more windy. north west is the worst location - strong wind, bad view. maybe north west location is good too, with better rooms, but also a little more windy, and as i remember, there is less time with straight sun, but its the best looking beach. water bungalows are the worst option at all - no beach, 3 times more expensive. ok you will get more luxurious feeling, but being all the day outside is better i guess.

Hi. I did use just underwater filter (red) with my gopro. I didnt use any filter with my drone, only thing i have done is, that i have pulled out the colors a little in final edition (contrast + 8% approx.)
