Update on 55 gallon - Jewel Cichlid - NEW ADDITIONS!
Added 2 Electric Blue Acaras to the tank. I found them a local pet store in Winston Salem. They were having a grand opening!

Update on African Cichlid Mbuna Setup. I finally broke the tank down and buffed the acrylic using wet/dry sandpaper. 600, 1000, 2000 and 3000. Also used Novus 3 part system.

I thought I’d post another update on the 60 gallon fancy goldfish tank. The latest Calico fancy is doing great and I added a new black moore goldfish. Unfortunately the original black moore swam into the overflow and into the durso pipe and past away. As you can see the plants are doing great and fish and thriving. I hope you enjoy the video. Jewel cichlids in a community tank. Can it work?

I added 3 small jewel cichlids to my 55 gallon planted community aquarium. The tank as tetras, rosy red minnows, plecos, emperor gourami and a female apistogramma. This is a Father Fish deep substrate with plants. All the hardscape came from nature. Feel free to hit the like and subscribe! :)

I added new black moor and another calico fancy to the tank. I also wanted to share the amazing plant growth. I’ve been really impressed with how well the plants have been doing with the fancy goldfish. It really shows that goldfish don’t need to live in a sterile tank with plastic plants and fake décor to thrive!

Update on 60 gallon Fancy Goldfish tank. I purchased a Black Moore. It seems to be right at home. One of the wonderful thing about goldfish is they're so peaceful. Plants still seem to be doing fine as well.
Planted Goldfish Tank - Father Fish

Planted fancy goldfish tank. I am using the Father Fish supplement with the dirt mix and 2 inches of sand. Goldfish aren’t bothering the plants although they seem to like the duckweed. Added a new Black Moore and it seems to love its new home.
20 Gallon Mutt Guppy and Fry Tank

Added a large group of baby mutt guppies to my 20 gallon guppy tank. I think this is the first time I posted a video about it. Babies are doing great. Also added a large bunch of anacharis plants so the babies have place to find refuge.

When I was about 7 years old, I put local pond water and guppies with my goldfish and they were all dead when I came back from school. Because no substrate? no plants? no filter? over fed? I just had a 5 gallon jug. I was so sad, but never learned why that happened. I barely know more now, but I am trying to learn. Peace out
@@jishuridazenchi9903 I would keep guppies with goldfish because they most likely would get eaten. The water you added may not have been safe. You can try a resurrection jar. Father Fish on UA-cam and there info on FB and Discord about it.
I have a 25 gallon tank with two goldfish and I want to transform it into something like yours. I will check out the Father Fish substrate videos and rock and roll. Thanks for posting your video.
So how are they doing so far?
Great idea! I used to feed my African Cichlids duckweed, but only occasionally. I don’t think they could’ve survived solely on that though.
@@ciaomein78 no they can’t. They still get other food. The tank has a food web.

Nice tank, Cutting edge! Consider cutting the dirty bottom portions of your Frogbit roots. The plant will grow new white roots and by throwing out the brown ones it is like cleaning your filter!

I never had any problem with them in a community tank, until they started breeding and then they became terrors.

I agree 100% you don’t see many fancies in a planted tank. I think I am going to add a layer of small river pebbles on top so they don’t dig into the dirt. That will be a future video. Thanks again for the kind words.

What is the purpose of putting air into tanks?
It's a piston pump used to supply air to multiple sponge filters.

It's just hang on the back with a sponge on the intake.
why is does that tank appear to be cloudy?
It’s actually mulm stirred up from the Cory cats. Unlike a lot of UA-camrs I don’t prep my aquariums before I record them. I take out my phone and start making the video. Totally unscripted.

Great video. I see how you put the dirt on top and the sand below. I do it the Father Fish way. Dirt on botton sand on top but what works for you is awesome.
This tank doesn’t actually have any dirt. It just has a sand substrate. Mbunas don’t do well with plants and the ones I added grew a lot of algae on the leaves so I had to relocate them to other tanks. Thanks for watching

Yeah it’s still a work in progress. I have 18 tanks so it gets a little pricey when stocking so many tanks.

Its a beautiful tank but its a little difficult to see the details and the fish since the lighting is on the darker side. I have a similar tank at home where its on the shadier/dark side because of all the floating plants and I have decided to get a submersible light so that when I want to see more detail, I can turn it on

Your aquariums are so awesome!!!! Father Fish is the man, he also taught my father and I not to do any water changes, we used to do them alot too. We both have all natural plants like guppy grass and java fern and moss. We’ve had fish for alot of years as well off and on. My very first tank when I was 3 years old was a 10 gallon with some anacharis plants and bright orange gravel. I subscribed to your channel.
