A Mini Thrift Haul & Tackling Some Long Overdue Home Decor Projects!
I have a mixer the same colour as your after colour, but i cant believe you would paint over the cobalt blue 😭
It's so funny how we all like different things, right?! I really didn't like the cobalt blue anymore (it looked better in the video than it did in real life), and I couldn't justify buying a new one when this one worked perfectly. At the end of the day I didn't NEED to paint it, but just wanted to so it matched my style a bit better
Thanks
A friend has asked me to make her bags for sourdough bread starter. She's going to melt bee's wax... this will be a extra additional gift
@@sallyschilling1559 that’s awesome! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!
Hi new here and fun vlog, can't wait for Christmas🎄
Thanks for being here!! I can't wait either :)
What is washing soda pls give the link
Washing soda is similar to baking soda, just a bit different. Here's a link: amzn.to/4izQzUt
@ thanks
Health department will be notified.. tried this tonight ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️tell people to USE MASKS OR THEY WILL CHOKE TO DEATH FROM TOXIC FUMES
What a beautiful transformation!! Thank you for the inspiration!!
Thank you so much!
Does this take off unwanted paint on the wicker basket? Trying to repurpose 2 wicker baskets and the colors are Horrendous whomever chose to paint them.
I haven't tried it on paint, but it definitely should work.
Will this fit a boule?
Yes 100% with extra room!
Herbs spices ????
I'm not sure what the question is exactly, but you can use any herbs and spices you want :)
How much flour?
@@KeefeisAwesome I do a 1:1 ratio of flour to water. It depends on how much starter you have to begin with as to how much you add in.
How much flour and water ratio to the starter??
It should be about a 1:1 ratio by weight of flour and water, but I typically just go by consistency, which is like a thick pancake batter.
Gorgeous!! How durable has it been since you've done it?
Thank you! Overall it's been pretty good. I will say that I should've skipped painting the knobs or at least did a better job sealing those up, as well as the plate on the bottom where the bowl fits. I've had some wear on the edges, but that's honestly because I have to keep it in a cupboard due to the lack of counter space I have and have knocked it and scarped it several times. But like I said, overall I'm happy and I'm glad I did it :)
@@thesimplehomeplace Awesome. You've inspired me. My KitchenAid is BLACK and just looks too heavy.... I love the color you picked! thanks for sharing!
@@heatherh3099 That's awesome, thank you! Have fun making yours over :)
Thank you most videos don’t give me measurements
Have you ever turned your bags into beeswax bags
I haven't tried it yet, but would like to try sometime soon! I just use a beeswax wrap to wrap my homemade bread before adding it to the bag right now :)
Thanks; I have my family antiques that I can polish. ❤🎉
Love it :)
Cool design, but in what world is this under $30? The wood stain and polyurethane is $27 just by themselves. I already had some of these items but still spent $86 on the materials listed. Still looking forward to building this but the title is definitely misleading. Also, just as a suggested edit, the 1” pipe straps aren’t going to fit over a 1.25” dowel. You need equal sizes there. Great video. Cool design. Might just want to rename it and make that one edit on the materials list.
I really appreciate the feedback! You're totally right on the cost and the title being misleading. I guess when I made this I already had the stain and poly, making it under $30 for the other materials. As for the dowel, when I measure my dowel it is 1.25" and fits perfectly.
@ interesting. Mine did not, which makes sense. It’s an easy fix though.
I rarely like videos.i did hoping more ppl see this ty
I appreciate it, thank you!
Thanks for this quantity of cocoa mix. Try using arrowroot powder in place of corn starch for a healthier version.
Thank you!
These are all great! Thank you!! 🙏🏼
Of course! I'm glad you found the video helpful :)
Bleach is good😊
But what about colored grout?
I've used this on gray grout and have no issues with the peroxide bleaching it in any way. But if you're worried about it, I'd test it out in an inconspicuous area first.
Thank you for this wonderful video and very much useful tips!
Of course! I'm so glad you found it helpful :)
Great instructions, thank,you
You're welcome! I'm glad they were helpful :)
This recipe how long does this last before you need to make more? Weeks? Months?
@@brendasanford6133 it depends on how often you use it. I use mine 1-2 times a week and it’s lasted me over a year and I’m still not out!
So the dowels just stick thru the clamps? What holds them in place? If slides in……… looks like would come out easily.
Yeah the dowels just slide through the clamps. If you're using the ladder purely for decoration and not getting blankets off very often, then I haven't had any issues. The dowels do slide easily when you're moving the ladder and occasionally when you take blankets off. This is really a design for someone to make if they don't have many (or any) power tools. Other blanket ladders that have the rungs secured into the sides are sturdier, especially if you use it a lot.
Have you tried making beeswax bags?
I haven't done that yet, but I'd like to try it sometime in the near future!
Its in the description❤ check the 3 dots
Thank you for your support!!!🥰🥰🥰🌹🌹🌹
Of course! It was wonderful working with you and we are loving the knife set!
How do you make them more sticky
Here's the video and blog post to make them more sticky! ua-cam.com/users/shorts3dVCAU_dyrk thesimplehomeplace.com/how-to-make-reusable-beeswax-food-wraps/
It seems like some areas still contain the original lacquer coating causing uneven look at the outside. Bit unsure if the video order was shuffled but it looked like some spots of oxidation still remained after the vineger soak. Is that advisable or better to continue till tjat is removed or address it specifically?
So yes, there was still some of the original patina left, which I'm not sure you'd be able to completely get rid of unless you buffed it with some kind of buffing machine or continued the process of soaking in vinegar, which could soften or weaken the brass. I was okay with having some patina left over, but it's totally a preference. My suggestion would be to use the vinegar soak method because I found that to be most effective compared to the other methods shown in the video if you want to get it as close to original as possible. Hope that helps!
Magnífico, parabéns 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Should I use only this mixture for washing cycle or I also need to add rinse aid and salt ?
You can use this by itself for a washing cycle, but you can also use a rinse aid as well, totally up to you.
Thank you 👍🏽 You are a great teacher! I appreciate that you simplified the process and you gave us close up view of what you were doing. I have two cherished lamps that need to be required and I wanted to learn to do it myself. Yours is the third video that I have watched on rewiring a lamp. Now after your video I have the confidence to do it myself and am looking forward to get busy at it! Awesome 👏🏼
Thank you so much! I'm so glad my video was helpful and I'm excited for you to get those lamps up and running again :)
If anybody tried this, please ehare your exprience. I have bought all the material and yet to make it.
No pine rosin?
For this specific one, no, but I much prefer using pine rosin. Here's the video for that and my blog post for the full instructions :) ua-cam.com/users/shorts3dVCAU_dyrk thesimplehomeplace.com/how-to-make-reusable-beeswax-food-wraps/
why do u waste complete tub water . take a small bucket nd do it .
I didn't have a bucket and there were a lot of towels.
Thank you I always had problems with the closing the way you did it makes it easier thanks again!!
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Hey! What paint do you use? from what company?
@@Daniel_S20 I used Behr paint and primer that I got at Home Depot 😊
Beautiful! What is the paint brand? I didn’t know they made paint with the primer in it.
Thank you! It's Behr paint and prime. It definitely takes a step away from the whole process!
Beautiful results!! I just remodeled my kitchen, going from primary colors to blush pink, and my Granny Smith/green apple Kitchen aid just isn’t cutting it anymore!! I wondered if I was the only crazy woman out there wanting to paint my mixer! So comforting to know that, in fact, the world is full of crazy women!! LOVE IT!!!
Thank you! And you're not the only one. I thought about it for YEARS before doing it and it made a huge difference!
I tried some of your other videos. No one cares what you buy. What a joke.
How i know that my cabinets is laminate? The seller told is wood but definitely is not, The texture of the cabinet from the outside is not like wood
I'm definitely not an expert, but real wood furniture and cabinets typically have tongue and groove joints. Now with cabinet doors it would be hard to tell if it was one solid piece. You can also look at the wood grain. If the sides of the cabinet door have a different grain or look completely different, then it's probably laminate. I will say that if you were interested in painting your cabinets as opposed to staining them, then you can use the BIN shellac primer on both plastic/laminate surfaces, as well as real wood surfaces.I hope that helps.
What kind of filling you used
@@zahrahtehseen4287 I just used wood filler 😊
Useless. Shows nothing. She doesn’t explain at all what she’s going or how the parts work with each other. Don’t waste your time watching this useless video. There are options where people actually know what they are talking about.
@@ncarter34 *waste*
Whatever. I stand by what I said. You wasted my time.
I had a vintage lamp with a very small base opening at bottom. It was impossible to fix without a long thin metal bracket to thread through the top.I like to see a vid on how to fix that,it was very difficult,The person fixing it said I needed a small child with long arms to go thru ceramic bottom to thread at the top, crazy
Wow, that's crazy! I've done a few lamps, but none that have had a tiny bottom like that. I'm glad you were able to find someone to fix it though!
My fabric doesn't seem to want to turn. Any advice on turning while sewing with two (thin) cotton layers?
I wish I could be more helpful, but I haven't had that issues so I'm not really sure. One thing that may help is using a smaller needle.
Is this a wooden furniture
The makings of the dresser are wood and particle board, while the outside is laminate/faux wood.
Looks great , great explanation too, and the visual was good, thank you , I will try this for sure
Thank you so much! I'm glad this was helpful for you :)
