Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates being called sweetie, hon and a few other condescending and demeaning terms. In the past year or 2 this behavior has gotten way out of hand around here. I'm 77 and to have some snotface school age kid working as a waitress causes me to really lose my cool when she calls me sweetie and dear.

Only females think like this. Yall are immature and petty. Even as adults women tend to be very child like.

I found this channel earlier today and I have been hooked binge watching it ever since. Everything you guys say I’m screaming *yes* at my TV. This is such a refreshing channel and conversations you’re having are much needed-I wish stuff like this got pushed into the algorithm more.

@18:30 such a good point! I was settled in at a job and decided to get some gray silver box braids. Literally the next day I got a call about a better job interview because they found me online. I had to sit there and heavily debate if I was going to take out a five hour hundred plus dollar hairstyle because I didn’t want to be judged that harshly and not get the job. I ended up putting it in a bun but they weren’t even pressed about it, said I looked like a creative type, and kept it moving.

I have experienced this alot and Im a tall woman in her 30s definitely do not look young. I absolutely cringe when women call me "sweetie". Its sounds like they are trying to belittle me. And more than likely they were. I usually correct them and say its "ma'am with a straight face. Some women do this out of spite to attractive looking women. Its best to correct it right then and there.

I talk on the phone with customers, who sometimes call me darling, sweetie, etc. I just pause a second, and then say "my name is _______," Usually they get the hint. I'm not ok with those words. It's unprofessional, and I think it's demeaning. I'm not your F'n darling!
