🤔 . . . I personally like to Tweak this video, but I would say that your assessment is primarily spot on. First of all, I would have the Stormtroopers, & other Imperial personnel, arriving from a lost battle & that they basically have no other way of rejoining their forces, in the foreseeable future (they might have some landing ships, an executive shuttle, & such; maybe some pseudo-hyperspace capable TIEs, such as the TIE boarding craft, but 🤷‍♂️), thus with no other choice, they’ll be making due with what they have. Furthermore, if the knights can rally the peasantry, so can the Imperials, not just the Stormtroopers, but only after some scientific analyses are made at how biologically different we are; if both humans from completely different galaxies are compatible, the we might see marriages in the near future, thus the odds are 🤷‍♂️.

According to the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible, Cain committed the first murder by killing his brother Able in a fight over who would marry the leftover sister. Cain and Able had 3 sisters, so, at that point, there were 7 people on earth and humans still could not get along and one of them killed one of the others. we invent new ways to kill each other on a daily basis, quite possibly the only thing that could bring all earthlings together would be an external threat to our home world. and after humans are done killing non earthlings, we would go right back to killing each other with renewed enthusiasm and the new skills we learned and new weapons acquired while killing aliens. so this would be a really bad day for the empire/first order. I would suggest that the empire or First order just use the death star and get it over with.

it's also noteable that Storm Trooper Armor, as far as i recall, was designed specifically with blaster protection in mind. unless they got some Kevlar under those suits, those plastic shells ain't gonna hold up. in a similar vain, our armor isn't suited to protect us against blaster fire, but because bullets have been shown to be faster than blaster fire, Earth has the air and ground advantage on that front

A more subtle (& viable) strategy would be gaining allies. Imagine suddenly First Orders' technology given to Ukraine, to help to repel Russia 's troops . Or saving some hostages from Hamas. They could present themselves as benevolent (Sic!) humanoid aliens that have just discovered a long lost brothers' planet. They could conquer hearth & minds of most terrans with astounding technology, and exploiting our military prowess. After all it was the same system employed by a lot of Empires, think of the romans or how the British recruited Sikhs & Gurkhas.
