07' Hyundai Santa Fe Engine Removal through the top #automobile #mechanic #howto #diy
Engine removal of the 3.3L V6 G6DB engine through the top. When you search in UA-cam for videos on how to do the engine removal on this vehicle, it would mostly show the removal through the bottom, removing the subframe, or through the front, removing the front bumper, headlights, radiator, and everything else in the front. I've only found one other channel that managed to do the removal through the top with ease and I believe they did a great job.

Trailer Jack Crank Handle Replaced by Stainless Steel 1/2-inch Adapter

I recently bought a utility trailer and wasn't too happy with the jack crank handle, so I replaced it with an adapter in which an impact wrench can be used to bring the jack up and down in seconds with ease. This is a lot cheaper than buying an electric jack for the trailer. #trailer #trailers #trailerlife #diy #howto

2012 Ford F250 6.7 Brake Caliper Pistons Issue & Possible Fix

Long overdue video, simply had forgotten to upload it. The caliper pistons for this truck seem to be very easy to break. The pads for this truck have little pins sticking out and when you are taking the caliper off or putting back on, it can be a struggle. You have to make sure that the pistons are not getting caught on those pins and if you force the caliper out or into place you could break t...

Yah I guess replace them with new ones
It’s under the repair specifications from the manufacturer to apply thread locker
Should have done a bit more research before just replacing the vacuum pump. Now I have to do it twice 😢
Saludos buenas noches desde república dominicana. Como saber donde queda el reductor tienes un punto de referencia
Tamper proof? My vicegrip says otherwise
Junk engine , I'm working on a cruze that ended up with bent valves, the cam seized enough to jump chains thus the bent valves and low compression. This all happened at high speed.
Man that sucks.
I know this is an old video but I had the same problem in the beginning, you have to reposition the end where the motor is because the unit swivels, lol it's kinda tricky and then all holes will line up, hope this will make it easier for any new viewers in the future 👍🏿
Thanks man. My Chevy equinox did the same thing. Did you have to spin the relucter on the camshaft?
Yes, I made a video about it.
Omg! That's exactly what just happened to us, exactly the same way, WOW! Great video and really informative! Thanks
U just cut them off, then what is next?

How do you reinstall
@@NickVisnic-s5s ua-cam.com/video/InO2XYaREuM/v-deo.htmlsi=CSnl1lVBtEwY4k1G This is just part 1 of the entire repair
Take out debris and install new pump. Works perfect it looks worse than it actually is. Same thing happened to my 2017 impala the pieces in there were hard to get because some are aluminum and the other were metal. A small magnet for metal pieces and eyelash tweezers for aluminum pieces 5 minute job turned to 30 but its ok 👍 been driving good and brakes went back to normal and no oil leak
SPEED UP THE DIALOUGUE at 1.25x 😅
Just got the code with the SB spacer
Thanks for the tip 👍
Nice try. Perhaps make notes of the points you want to show and follow. How is the title of this video "oil change with details" when you don't show what you did? What it really was: "A lecture on oil types you may wish to use and why." I too was here for some helpful hints and tips on how to remove the filter without allowing the oil to drip all over the front of the engine. My best guess is to allow all the oil to fall into the collection pan from the oil pan, loosen the oil filter just enough to allow some air in and oil drain out of the filter and down into the oil pan. Meanwhile have a large absorbent rag or towel ready around the base of the filter to catch any that wants to drip down the front of the engine.
Ok
I was biting my lips when you started hammering on it, you take a gamble on breaking it..what I did was sacrifice a foreign made socket and welded tabs on the out side o socket to match the reluctor wheel and used a breaker bar
No need to bite your lips, I believe you took the longest route to do the same thing I did. Most mechanics just tap into place like I did with a small hammer. Also, just the though of trying to fix the reluctor wheel IS a gamble, because it could come out of place right when you turn on the car, and you would then have to replace the exhaust camshaft. I believe the correct way to fix this issue is to replace the exhaust camshaft the moment you see the reluctor wheel out of place and I believe the dealership would go this route to avoid being responsible of an imcomplete repair. I took a huge gamble doing this because the owner was going to sell the car right I gave it back to them.
Did it rotate again and throw the same code? Or was this fix the fix for your issue? Still to this date?
This was the fix in my case and the car was sold, now the customer is running with a different car. But if your reluctor wheel rotated again or it gives you the aame cade once again, it means you need a new exhaust camshaft.
@@franksgarage7880 this isn’t the correct alignment. It’s close, but it will surge at idle. FYI
@@MechengrMIKE2200 Thanks for the info, but I can tell you that the car never surged at idle like you say it would, I drove it for a little over 100 miles before returning it to the customer, never surged at stop lights or while in park. It just drove like it was new.
@@franksgarage7880 if you look at a “good” exhaust camshaft, the reluctor wheel is NOT directly inline with the laser etched code/part number. It is clocked slightly to the left of center. This makes a huge difference in the signal the computer is getting.
@@MechengrMIKE2200doubt it. all sensors have a tolerance
How’d you get that vacuum pump seal off. I couldn’t just pull it out. Only half came out 😅
You will need to remove the valve cover to fetch out the rest of it if you have not done so already.
I watched your other vids on this vehicle, and they provided a lot of information... thank you! My timing chain broke due to a bad chain tensioner, I removed the rear cylinder head to inspect for damage (no damage) and rebuilt the cylinder head with new valves and head gasket, put new chains and tensioners, and reassembled the engine. Had a timing issue which I fixed without removing the timing chain cover and moved the chain that was 2 teeth off. (I found another YT video where the gentleman did the chain adjustment without removing the timing chain cover - you need to be careful but it works!) Same vehicle, and runs nice again!
Thank you for your videos!
Hey!! I have the same engine in a 2018 Equinox. Had same issue with vaccum pump and then was crank, no start.. I have changed the pump and aligned reluctor wheel to match QR code... Car since then starts and runs but has "Reduced Engine Power" warning and also Dispays Check engine light.. Scan brings up P0017... Any tips on what I should be looking at next? I am in New Zealand and there is no dealer anymore as Holden/GM have shut down operations here.
I have seen that every time this issue happens it happens differently on every vehicle. Remove the valve cover again and check the reluctor wheel for the proper alignment. I know its a pain having to do that again. If the reluctor wheel is out of position again, you will have to replace the exhaust camshaft. If this is the case, in my professional opinion, do the timing service while you replace the exhaust camshaft. If the reluctor wheel is still aligned correctly, check the timing chain/belt for the correct timing points. In other words, make sure that the timing chain/belt didn't skip a tooth on the exhaust or intake camshaft sprocket. If it did, try to fix the timing without having to remove the timing cover. If you have to remove the timing cover, then might as well do the timing service on it if you have to remove a lot of things to get there. BUT, if the engine is timed correctly and the reluctor wheel is not the problem then... I don't know. At the end of the day, do whatever you can to fix it and sell it as soon as possible, or get rid of it. It's just going to bring more and more problems in the long run. Get yourself a Honda or Toyota and forget about these ridiculous issues with cheap small Buick, Chevy, Cadillac, and GMC engines.
Forgot to mention, to check the timing without removing the timing cover, put the piston in cylinder one at top-dead-center and check the timing points on the chain and/or camshaft sprockets. If something is off or out of place... you know what to do.
No
I just had to do this on a 2016 Chevy Malibu that the vacuum pump exploded but I was able to get all of the pieces out of the engine. I drilled out the oil feed gallery to the rotor bearing area in the new pump to try to avoid it failing also. These pumps are the focus of a class action lawsuit against GM.
I want to do engine

53:38 i will always love the sound of rhe 5sfe, even though its pretty slow
Started getting P0069 Code on my 2019 F450 at around 75,000 miles. Started intermittently, and then became more frequent. Cleaned the MAP sensor, as it was extremely dirty/clogged up. Code hasn't come back in several days now. Think it worked! Thanks for the video!
Great step by step video and love how you showed where you made mistakes too. Thank you!!!
After setting the reluctor wheel to the sign on the cam I would have rotated the cam notch vertically to avoid all that frustration of getting the pump to line up, and thank you for the detailed fix, will save me time when I do this on my wife's car.
Thank you Frank for your informative video. I read a post from another comment about the fuel filter .... The comment about sliding the fuel hose too far on is correct. The filter has barbed fittings on the ends where the clamp seals off and does its clamping, so next time, I'd trim off the elongated ends and install hose only as far as the barbs. This will ensure a positive sealm and you won't have any possibility of fuel leaks. Thank you again for your video. A couple of things I overlooked when installing my plugs was the die electric grease and anti-sieze lube, which I strongly agree with both. I think I'll pull the plugs back out and do them correctly! Thnx!
Just removed my vacuum pump from my 2017 Malibu The pump looked to be in the same with the damage as the car in the video but I was able to put a new pump on and been driving for a couple days now
Bad idea my man. You need to clean out the debris left by vacuum pump in the camshaft area. That debris will eventually get into the oiling system and mess up your car in ways that you won't like. And its probably too late to even try getting the debris now cause you have been driving for a few days now.
@@franksgarage7880what if im still missing one piece
Thank you, have you every had any issues with surging?
Yes, I have and the cause for that could most likely be the carburator since the carburator is the weakest point in the engine of my zero turn. You could try cleaning it out yourself, have someone do it for you or replace with a new.
@@mattsnopko I agree on the carburetor reply. Anytime I've experienced surging, it has always been carburetor issues. Aftermarket replacements are usually as cheap or cheaper than rebuild kits. I've bought several, and they generally work well.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I'm replacing the back spark plugs off of my 09 Sonata, and I was having so much trouble with the wiring on the left. Thank you!
Help your regulator last by lubricating the glide track of the window with silicone spray and your door seals too I try to do it at least once a year before winter.

@ 0:33 you are incorrect, it's closest to fire wall Cyl. 1,3,5 Closest to radiator Cyl. 2,4,6 Standing on passenger/ right side of vehicle.
Did you have any problems after you got it back together?. I have same issue with my vehicle. I got it all back together and it feels like it was to stall at idle.
Check your fuel rail, make sure it is dry all the way down to the injectors, if you see a fuel leak at the injectors, then you punctured a seal and need to replace it. If that is not your problem then check the hoses, make sure they are not leaking vacuum, and check the pcv valves and breather going to the turbo. All of that is plastic (nylon, same crap) and when it gets brittle, it'll easily crack and leak vacuum. Check your air filter, check the throttle body, check the maf sensor (or map sensor), clean all of them if needed. If none of the above is the issue then you would need to check the timing, you would need to remove basically everything again and make sure the reluctor wheel for the camshaft position sensor is on the correct position in accordance with the camshaft. Honestly, I think that your problem is anything but the reluctor wheel, because if it were to be off in the wrong position, your car wouldn't even start. But I've been wrong before.
