What size does this block finish at? TIA

Well, I made it today, I measured exactly and the triangles were not right. 🧐 So then I made them 7.5 and they are still short. No idea what I am doing wrong. I have your exact ruler and in your video you said measure on the 90° line but I think you mean the 45° line. I tried to pause and see it on my TV but of course youtube covers it up. In the end, I have a 12" block and I need a 12.5" for my pizza box swap. Thankfully we make two blocks for ourselves so I'm not wasting anyone else's fabric. I'm just going to put a quarter inch border around the outside of the block and it will be perfect. In the end, since all these blocks will be so different I am going to sash the quilt anyway. Thanks again.

How is that quarter inch seam line on your sewing table? Get me? I have one of those extended tables but it doesn't have any markings like that, is that a sticker? I love the idea of having it go all the way down. Currently I use a Quilting foot but I still wouldn't like to see that longer seam mark. I hope I am making sense.

What is the finished size of this block based on these sizes? Am I missing it?

I have retired and now have time to learn to quilt and your video has given me encouragement to try making a quilt using the rail fence. I did my hunter quilt w 3x3 inches and I trim them to 2 1/2. Then I did the corners w 2 1/2 white material. So 3x3 inches in dark blue 3x3 inches light blue 3 inches white. I made a smaller lemoyne star. It turned out alright. I am a beginner quilter it's about 7 inches . thank you many happy returns. Keep up the great work😊

FYI There is no definitive answer to perfection with this "tool." You still have to fiddle with it IT'S NEVER GOING TO BE PERFECT!!!

I just bought this pattern. Looks fun! I have a few UFOs and WIPs to complete before I dig into that one though. Red and white and blue and white are such beautiful classic combinations for this pattern.

How do you know how big to make the square to start with? If I need a 5" HST, how big will the square need to be to start with?
