Very educative video, i wish Yugabyte team make a hands-on comparison of these tunings and showcase them with another video. And more showcase about Voyager. Thanks for this video!
Did you find a way to monitor follower lag on a YBM cluster ? Also agree PSI would be valuable. I have never worked on as system that had it available. Without PSI I have almost always found Page Ins (vmstat pi) to indicate memory issues fairly well
Very informative video
Is there any tutorial about running YagabyteDB in 2 docker containers and connect them together?
Than you sir, tried out other solutions but they didn't work, this one saved me!
How does YogabyteDB handle conflicts? What are recommendations for multi regional setups?
nice tool! but is there a way to do it with 0 down time? like postgres logical replication
364 Lenna Fords
Also, point 1 - Stop the applications, what you mean? We need 100% uptime
Wait does this mean standby is NOT deady untill we manually do PTR? Why can't system do it by itself automatically?
Quero aprender Yugabyte, vocês possuem alguma formação gratuita para quem quer aprender e aplicar ? Obrigado !
What are the restrictions or changes occur when the system goes to FIPS mode?
Will it work if the query is native ?
As far as I know, it should work. But you might need to write a mapper that takes a result and transforms it into a Java record.
@@YugabyteDB it worked
You are an inspiration bhaiya ❤
Good session Master Abhinab😃
Thank u Abhinav Bhaiya. Learned something new
Way to expensive to start - no serverless option with scale to zero like CockroachDB - I've asked for it many many times and you don't introduce startup friendly options so using Yugabyte is a non starter and we will build our applications and scale with cockroach. You will miss many companies like ours because of your current modal and cockroachDB will gain many more businesses because of their attractive scale to zero offering.
Great 👍
Great talk on migrating from MongoDB to YugaByte DB! Excellent insights on migration strategy, challenges, and learnings. Keep up the good work! 🙌🏻
Crazy!
Useful stuff

Are the load balancers are also geo-distributed when you call it a "global load balancer"? I assume that all the users are not going to a single load balancer that is physically located in a single location in the world for being redirected to different application instances?
We assume global load balancers supported by cloud providers. Those have a single IP address but can be accessed from PoPs (points-of-presence) through the cloud regions around the world. This article explains this types of balancers in detail: dzone.com/articles/using-global-cloud-load-balancer-to-route-user-req
Thanks for that video, record implementation looks so clean that i don't even want to use mapstruct anymore 😅
Thanks Vishnu! Very helpful and informative.
Wow🎉🎉🎉
Jesus Christ, thank you so much!
A lovely way to show how to use table spaces for geo-partitioning. Awesome @Denis Magda! I want to follow you pleeeeeease 🎉
Glad you liked Denis's style! Btw, you can follow him on his personal channel: www.youtube.com/@DevMastersDb
Well described 👏 and shown. The FOLLOWER READS Reads will make sense in most cases when read-only is needed. However 😢 when read-write is required, FOLLOWER READS lose the added advantage
Thank You, is there any link to Your examples ? I can see You have some notes :)
Sure, here are the instructions used by Denis: github.com/dmagda/DevMastersDb/blob/main/postgres/top_five_postgres_extensions_for_developers.md

Wow Shikhar very enlightening presentation!
Thanks mate
Thank you Shikhar for the wonderful presentation!
Anytime Satej!
Superb session, great explanation of the architecture and the use cases.
Please provide your Slack channel name
Thank you, that was really useful !
I am coming from MongoDb. The problem there is data consistency, stale data even with quorum meet and replication timeout issues. Can you briefly explain how yugabyte helps us to attain consistent data! How can data write happen to multiple nodes? How to attain consistency?
Hey, sure, happy to answer the question. YugabyteDB is a distributed transactional database. It uses the Raft consensus protocol to ensure strong consistency across the entire cluster. Consider checking this tutorial that introduces you to essential capabilities of the database: docs.yugabyte.com/preview/tutorials/build-and-learn/ This is a video version of the tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/rqJBFQ-4Hgk/v-deo.html
I was thinking of trying this for a "Market" where you have a lot of different articles to buy (at least 10-12 types) but I didn't know I could create a SQL type with it. I thought about declaring the name of the article type in a constructor like a String and then calling it through a method but this seems much easier. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Guys.
Very good post for ybderstanding the basics of data modeling on YugabayteDB. And Happy Century
Thanks for the stream! Very interesting sesion. BTW, Odyssey supports prepared statements since 1.3 (~2022) :)
Thanks for joining!
thanks for this video, i was wondering how can i place the validation annotation and the validation groups
Thanks a lot ! Great explanation of subject, and great drawing. What tool did you use for drwaing ?
Thanks for the feedback! Denis used excalidraw.com

Thank you, Bogdan and Kannan finally I got the answers this is a very useful session!
very well presented, thank you!
Concept and Idea is too old,. going back 6years in time
Good concepts and ideas persist for decades. What changes is their implementation and user experience.
Thank you, it's great Explanation in single place.
Amazing. No mention of failure paths. No mention of concurrency control. No mention of consistent transaction record state. No mention of retries/ locking mechanisms. Just roses and rainbows
Hey, take a look at our Yugabyte Friday Tech Talk recordings: www.yugabyte.com/yftt/ There were several episodes with Yugabyte engineers doing deep dive into our transactional system. Hope you'll find them more useful. And don't hesitate to ask details on our Slack.
