The Frio river is such a beautiful river. We love Garner state park. We are heading out there next weekend. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day!!!😊
Thanks for watching! I haven’t been to many State Parks yet but so far Garner is definitely my favorite!
Nice!
I want to get back out there. They stocked Blue Hole Park with trout this week!
Looking forward to videos in 2025.
Thanks, I have high hopes for the new year!
Your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Sub and 👍1
@@KhurshidsChannel thank you!
Great video!
Thank you for watching!
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
I’ll be publishing the full video from this trip soon. Garner State Park really is a great park to visit!
Love the hat and great video! I’m ready to go kayaking there now!!
@@Lorimcmichael1 Thanks. I’m collecting all of the “pro hat” comments to show Kristin! Haha
Yeah your fine its normal
@@DrakeBarrett That is kind of where I’m landing. I do go over relics and stuff so maybe that’s just inevitable. Thanks!
@@Buenas_VistasNo problem man keep making these videos I love watching
Good save!
@@tomcaldwell5750 thanks, I thought I was going swimming for sure!
Yeah, when you see a little water like that, your kayak is basically toast. At any moment, it will suddenly fall apart, sink and kill you. In fact, I'm so concerned about your safety that I'll even give you $50 to stop using that kayak and I'll haul it off for you. Safety first.
@@TexasBarnRats haha, I honestly can’t tell if you’re serious or joking. I’ve had around a half gallon or less of water in the kayak every time after I kayaked about 3-5 hours.
@@Buenas_Vistas Yep…I’m full of baloney. Some water is normal. There will always be some just from condensation: humid Texas air heated inside an enclosed plastic body set into cooler water. However, 0.5 gal of water in 3-5 hours isn’t right. There’s something else going on. Perhaps fill the kayak interior with water and look for leaks.
@texasbarnrats thanks I had the same problem with mine
@@TexasBarnRats filling it with water wont damage it? Should I do it on soft ground like grass or something?
@@tylergraff5447 did you fix it or do you think it's normal/common?
Thanks for using our song 🤘🤘
It’s a great song!
Hello my new friend! Love the video! Leaving a like and sub! Keep uploading!
Thank you!
@@Buenas_Vistas Anytime my friend. Full support for another traveler!!
Nice soundtrack, man! Oh, and nice hat too!!
@@EvanShepperd Thanks, I haven’t gotten a single negative comment about the hat. I’m going to show these to Kristin!
Great video. One of my fav places in all of Texas to kayak and fish . I use South Llano Kayak and Canoe - and They shuttle me up river to the 151 and then I float back to the park .... Wonder river. Thanks for sharing the video. facebook.com/SouthLlanoRiverCanoes/
Your hat is fine. South Llano River State Park is a cool place. I camped out there early this year. Awesome video.
@@hikingwithjackieboy Thanks! I’m going to show the comments to my wife! Haha Thanks for watching!
@Buenas_Vistas you're welcome, and shared your video on my community page and to several Facebook groups
Thanks!
Dang, I really like your roof top tent o the utility trailer. Looks like a great paddle. I am going to check South Llano State Park. I 😮apparently you sharing your adventure.
@@tomcaldwell5750 Thanks! It works good when it’s just me, but I have to get something bigger for the wife and kids (I have 3 boys). Thanks for watching.
Dig the hat! I have a similar one, so I'm a bit biased. Lol.
Thank you! I have to keep an eye on it constantly or my wife will "dissapear" it, haha.
I went to the frio earlier this summer, didn't float sadly, but had a great time w family and friends. I miss it but I have school to do!
@@TNTforever87 I went in July! That’s the next video I’m making. We kayaked the first day there but it was a little low. The next day it rained for about 12 hours and after that we went for it again. The water was more brown but the flow was much better!
@@Buenas_Vistas that's good!!!!
Thought you were going overboard
@@EvanShepperd you and me both!
Interesting idea.
@@hikingoutdoorfamily it worked great for sleeping comfortably at night in the Texas heat. I tested it out for 5 days and 4 nights in Garner. Thanks for watching!
@@Buenas_Vistas I often don't camp in the summer because of the extreme heat.
@@hikingoutdoorfamily same. I started putting an a/c in my rooftop tent so I could sleep but that really limits who and how many people I can take. I have three kids so with this tent I plan on taking them camping and kayaking a lot more often.
I’ve caught bass over 5# plus! I have a few pics in the Garner page.
@@mariov3786 what were you fishing with? I’ve just tried different swim baits and I never have any luck there!
@@Buenas_Vistas I’ve had the best luck with Zoom Green Pumpkin trickworm. or watermelon. They’re usually out of stock tho lol. 4-1/2 is best but 6 will do. Texas rigged but I peg my weight with a toothpick about 6-8 in high using 6-10 # fluorocarbon leader or I just spool mine with 8# floro.
Good luck!
So did you kayak after the flood? Tubing is the best after a good flood. The 80's floods an rapids were sick to float in tubes. Thanks for posting our beautiful Frio.
I didn’t get to kayak today. The water was way up today but my cousin left this morning and I thought it would be a little risky to do it alone. Thanks for watching!
Oh thank you. I miss going to the dance. My forever dance partner went to Heaven 2 yrs ago. He was from. Leakey.
I’m sorry to hear that.
We saw yall at the little waterfall Ourbyrdseyeview
I’ll keep an eye out for yall when I’m editing!
No flooding??
@@daviddelatorre3020 Nope, it was a lot of rain but there was a lot of river to fill back up. I hear it’s supposed to rain again tonight and that may be enough for some flooding.
Nice!
Sick burnout 🤙
It was a great day today! Thanks for watching!
Cool
Thanks for watching! I thought it was pretty cool to find a tent with an a/c vent so I figured I'd share the info.
I really don't understand the judgement people get for wanting to cool their tent in the hot summer weather. I've seen plenty of videos of people figuring out ways to heat their tent when they're camping up North in the winter and it seems no one has a problem with that. I don't see cooling your tent in the South during the Summer any differently.
Exactly! And it’s so disturbing that people don’t mind leaving rude comments. You have the right to camp however it pleases you, as do they. I also tent camp with AC sometimes. Great setup! Just subscribed, and look forward to seeing more camping videos.Continue to camp in whatever way keeps you happy! Life is too short to worry about what someone else thinks you should do! Happy camping!
@@outdoormary thanks! And thanks for watching!
Is this a special tent for air condition system?
@@panosdourouklakis9460 Yes, the tent has a port to put the window unit in. It works pretty good!
If you want to sit in the ac stay home.. Rediculous.
Haha, well it's really more like I want to sleep in the A/C. We don't just sit in the tent during the day. Thanks for watching!
I'll take getting called ridiculous for getting relief from 110 - 120 degree heat index.
@@L4rceny Same. It beats staying home instead because it's too miserable to camp in the Texas summer heat!
You're not camping. Your dragging all of your shit to the middle of the woods.
@@calmerthanyou6180 Do you camp in the winter?
Hey, I live in AZ where summer is around 110--118 in some cities, I will be using a portable AC if I camp at a site that is not cold.
That’s crazy hot! Have fun camping, and thanks for watching!
What size ac how many BTU
I would say it's a mid sized, 8000 btu. I think you could probably be fine with a 5000 btu at night, but during the day I don't know if it would help much. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Great idea.
@@tomcaldwell5750 Thanks for watching!
1:18 Those calves tho...
Haha. I wish I could take the credit but it’s genetic.
Your videos are so good, so great. I really enjoy watching your videos. Wishing you lots of health and success
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this valuable kayaking safety tip.
Thank you for watching!
How cool! I’ll have to show my friend Melissa. She kayaks a lot! Where is this located?
It’s in Georgetown. I put in at a park called Blue Hole Park. It’s really pretty there and easy access!
Bad ass mfs!
We had a great time!
Beautiful river
It really is! I'm going to look into sections of the San Gabriel further West to try to kayak or maybe even kayak camp if I can find an island or something.
@@Buenas_Vistas nice
My buddy and I went there after watching your first video. It was a nice, leisure paddle and a heck of a lot of fun. We didn't make it as far as you two did. Looks like we will have to go back again. Great video
Good to hear! I drove over a section of the San Gabriel just this past weekend and it looks really nice there. I am thinking of trying to do other stretches of it further West. It would be cool if I could do an overnighter and kayak camp it. Thanks for watching!
Awesome dudes!
Thanks! We had a great time out there. I saw some beautiful stretches of the San Gabriel further west this past weekend. I may try to do a stretch of the river out that way.
Looks like y’all had a blast. Just a friendly reminder, be sure to pack out all trash. I am looking forward to seeing your your next adventure.
It was a blast! I have a video of a trip on the San Gabriel River publishing later today! We usually end up bringing back more trash than we took out there. It’s pretty easy to just throw things in the kayak and fish them out later so we try to pick up whatever we see as we go.
I'm going back again very soon! Ask me any questions about Garner or kayaking on the Frio and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I hope to run into you out there on the water some day!
This river is 💕I go every year i leave for it on Thursday
Nice! The flow is kind of low right now, but if you go to the Old Garner Oakmont section the level is always nice because of the small dam there. Have fun!
@@Buenas_Vistas we go to majors crossing, usually float happy hollow, seven bluffs, or the top half of the river, another float we do is really cool idk what it's called tho
Is that Thompson Island on the San Marcos River?
It is! Beautiful spot to spend some time while kayaking down the river.
I got to sit and actually watch this whole video primo. It was amazing. It literally brought joy to my soul. I love these memories and glad they are being recorded.
I’ll see you next time!
Richard is awesome. Have used to shadow several times..
He’s genuinely a great guy. We always enjoy our time with him. Very laid back and he even comes and picks up his gear afterwards. I always try to recommend him whenever I get the chance.
Awesome Video, you guys sure look like your having a good time. The angles were awesome…I love Texas
We’ve made it a yearly thing and if anything each year it’s getting bigger! Next year I may have to rent 3 camping spots! Thanks for watching!
Looks like a fun river.
Can't wait to get back!
