Two ways of getting hate Christmas smell into your apartment. Take one or two needles off the Christmas tree, use a pincet to put them into the flame of a candle, and let them burn. They will "sprinkle" because of the oil in the needles. Take a bit of the peel from an orange. Bend it/squeeze it, in front of the flame of a candle. Tiny droplets will go into the flame, and evaporate. PS: Don't teach your children too early ;)

It was an unusual menu for Christmas evening dinner. Most danes eat duck, and pork roast with red cabbage, sugar coated patatos and plenty of gravy etc. I love backed patato, salats and it looke very well made and there can be many reasons people dont prefer the traditional menu.

I'm happy that you forced yourself into a sitiuation that might not have felt comfortable, i would've chickene'd out for sure. I do believe that life is a journey, and that the best way to experience things, is to let go of the control from time to time, and just go with the flow. say "i actually want to do this" and then follow through with it, and not chicken out. Maybe those 3 new friends, are going to be your new friends for many years to come, maybe 2 will stick, and 1 wont, who knows, but atleast you're brave enough, to chase the friendships and put yourself out there and honestly, forging your own luck, is more accurate than you''d think. As a Dane who has lived most of my life abroad and only had non Danish girlfriends, I can relate quite a lot to your situation. And I think you are doing the right thing, by connecting to some other expats. When you move to a new country, we are all very much in to getting to know everything and everyone. But most locals have spent years forming their own friendship group in the place they live and that can be hard to break into. So my advice is to keep doing what you are doing and you will most likely find that the majority of the Danish friends you will make are Danes who have a foreign partner. And that is great, because you will have much more in common with these people than with Danes who have never really been living internationally.
