This peace gives me goosebumps. The first time I heard this was when I was 13 and it blew my mind away. What an amazing masterpiece.

This truly moves me to the core.

The text of this masterpiece belongs to Armenian medieval theologian, poet, musician and philosopher Grigor Narekaci (951 - 1003A.D.), who lived in Armenian Kingdom of Vaspurakan near lake Van (nowadays within the Turkey). Choir sings in Russian translation the third chapter of Narekaci`s Book of Lamentations , absolute masterpiece in medieval poetry.

Such a wonderful masterpiece...the last movement is particularly moving

Whose brilliant idea was it to stick a commercial into the middle of a movement? It ruins the mood. Between movements would have been far more logical and less obtrusive.

This Masterpiece is based on the Words by Armenian Poet - G. Narekatsi. Schnitke is one of the Greatest Composer in history of MUSIC.

Wonderful, beautiful, terrifying piece. It could be the musical expression of God or of deep transcendent truth, in both their exhilarating, marvelous and dark, unendurable aspects. It is extremely grave.
