September, 17th Partial Lunar Eclipse Timelapse | READ DESCRIPTION |
I don’t know why, but when I had the SeeStar app opened while the time lapse was being recorded, the moon looked perfectly centered and I even had target correction enabled to keep the moon centered, but that obviously didn’t work. I guess I have some troubleshooting to do before next year’s total lunar eclipse. So I apologize for the moon not being centered.

My View Of The October 14th, 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse
Переглядів 492 місяці тому
NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN THROUGH A TELESCOPE WITHOUT PROPER SOLAR FILTERS I know you guys are probably wondering why I’m just posting this now when this eclipse happened almost 9 months ago and if I’m being honest, it’s because I forgot to post it once the eclipse ended. I was filming the eclipse from Conroe, Texas, which experienced 92% annularity so I wasn’t able to see the Ring Of Fire. The equ...

      You used a scope in front of that phone, right? What kind of scope did you use? You certainly got the focus on target. My experience in using the persnickety little phone mount attached to my scope was very difficult for me to get a clear view of Jupiter or Saturn. So I'm curious how you got it so good.

      @@SpaceIsBeautiful I had a little Orion scope that exact same size that I dropped and cracked. I took some very good pictures with that little thing, I kicked myself when I did that. I now have an 8-in mead cassegrain that I use most of the time, but I always tend to prefer my cheap Newtonian that was my first telescope.

    I wish the clarity could come in just a little bit more but thank you for the visual, and I love that you can note the self adjusting telescope. At least it appears to be self, adjusting, making micro adjustments to keep the planet centered.

    • @SpaceIsBeautiful
      @SpaceIsBeautiful 7 місяців тому

      This is as clear as I could get with taking this video on my iPhone! And the tiny adjustments being made were made by me using the hand control for my motorized mount!

    I know this may sound corny and cliché, but astrophotography saved my life. 3 months before i got my first telescope, i was at a really really low point in my life. I went through a really traumatic event that im not going to go into detail of, but what i went through caused my mental health to decline and i became severely depressed and I didn't even really want to live anymore. If im being honest, my mental health still isn't better, but being able to get a telescope and go outside and bask in the beauty of space makes a really good distraction. Once i got my first telescope and took my first photo of the moon, i knew my love for astronomy (and eventually astrophotography) would absolutely skyrocket. Here i am now, a little over a year (and 3 new telescopes) later, ive made a bunch of friends who are apart of the astro community and I couldn't have been more thankful. I also want to thank the entire Astro Community as a whole for welcoming me with open arms.
