Steven Curtis Chapman - Where the Bluegrass Grows (Live at First United Methodist Church Jonesboro)
Переглядів 3172 роки тому
An evening with Steven Curtis Chapman at First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It was so good to see and hear him in concert again. He wrote “Where the Bluegrass Grow” as a tribute to his musical roots. I was fortunate enough to be front row center.

Petra, espectacular como siempre. Que Dios los bendiga. ❤
Nice memories. Thanks so much for share this video, great as always. God bless
He wanted this until almost the day he died. Thanks Mike😊💕
Dolenz partied HARD in the early to mid 70's. Amazing he has outlived all the others.
Time is cruel.
I think against the law is a very powerfull album, michael sweet have a very high range vocal
This showed me what kind of man Mickey Dolenz is. He helped carry his ailing friend over the finish line...helping him end his life doing what he didn't realize earlier in his life, that being "Monkee Mike" would bring him satisfaction, camaraderie, and the understanding of his effect on so many people. Mickey the consummate showman took a back seat, and Mickey the friend smiled while Mike, under the influence of a LOT of medical marijuana, would meander and often lose his place listening to the wonderful music. I can only hope I have a Mickey to steady me as I walk toward what comes next.
2:19 song finally starts.
Always liked this song it reminds me of summer 68
“All For One” is one of my favorite songs by them.😎👍
I'm about ready to slide these guys into one of the greatest metal bands of all time category. They're just phenomenal.
It's odd watching Robert having to "hold back" his hammer swings on this smaller drumkit for this situation...but he still sounds great! They all do!
Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. In December I emailed Micky Dolenz and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October.
I miss you all cryed like a baby
It saddens me to know that Mike Peter and Davy are gone, but if there's a rock & roll heaven then their band's had some major upgrades.
RIP. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. I emailed Mickey Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October.
I hate that Mike's gone. :(
Against the Law is IMHO their best album! I heard they don't care for it much, but have to assume that's based on sales, because it's solid from beginning to end.
❤
Greg still has it. Wow.
I am so glad I attended this show. My 11-year-old son grew up with me playing Monkees music, to the point it became his favorite band (and not many 6th graders can say that). My wife and I took him to this, fifth row center, his first ever concert. So glad I got to experience that with my son, having no idea Mike would leave us two months later.
That will be a very big memory for him. Nesmith/Monkees had performed on and off over the span of 7 different decades and your son saw among the VERY last ones..quiote the memory! Just like the Barnum and Bailey circus. I saw the 2nd last show...and it had been going on for well over 100 years.. since even before baseball was invented!
RIP Mike 🙏💜🙏
WOOL HAT will always love you RIP
How many originals remain in this group?
Looks like Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden are still hanging in there.
@@edbowen8287 Bob Carpenter joined the band in the mid 70s and he still with them. The other two long time members John McEuen and Jimmy Ibbotson who are both now retired weren’t original members. John joined in 1967 and Jimmy in 1969, both also left the band and then came back. So Jeff and Jimmie have been the only two members who have been in the band the entire time.
For some reason this song hits home to many.
❤ this song.
I heard that he was struggling on the last tour... I think the crew knew that he did not have much time... Really sad when you think about it.... He fought for Pete's right to sing and for the group to sing and play on their records.... Here is Mike doing the best to give his all.... I wish I was there but then again.. I would have cried through the whole fucking thing.....
It seems that in all of the videos I have watched Mick is there ready to help Mike out when he could sense or see that Mike was physically struggling which most often meant he just didn't have enough air to deliver in full voice. Pretty touching to see how much they meant to each other!
@@paulreese3071 Yes, true friends.
Una belleza ! me encantan The monkees , esta presentacion es bella y emotiva, a pesar de sus edades le ponen mucho entusiasmo y energia. Thanks Chris.!!!
I was there, I had a good seat. I remember Mike singing 'While I Cry', and slightly tearing up. I just wanted to go up on stage and give that man a hug. Only two months later did I get the sad news. I really hope that Micky is doing alright.
R.i.p Mike nesmith
Mike affected me probably more than Davy and Peter though I really loved them too. Mike was different. His music was amazing. On a side note, this an amazing backing band. Stayed very true to the original. Even the drummer, doesnt over play and keeps the beats simple and very 60s sounding.
That's one of the first things I noticed about Rich's playing. Hes a great drummer!
When I first heard it didn’t fully hit me. Later in the day as I was getting ready to leave work it hit me. I broke down crying like the ten year old who first saw them on TV. Another mile marker has been passed and this one made a huge difference in the person I became. Cut my hair just like Mike, lamb chop side burns and a stocking cap year round till senior year of high school.. yes Mike made a super impression on me. He was one of the good guys.. So many hours laying under the record player listening to my Monkees in 66-67-68… the music will live on and to Mickey I can only say how sorry for your loss. As for Mikes real family I feel your pain and loss and pray for your relief. Mike? You are now in a place where your young sweet voice can shine forever. Getting old ain’t for pussies.. Pete Davey and Mike are young forever as long as we continue to listen to the music and watch a Monkees episode.. Mikey? Don’t be in a hurry to leave us. Go wherever you are invited to share the story and music. It’s a great story and the music is too.
If it didn't fully hit me before, this video and your comment took me closer there.😢
@@kennymurphy2116 I wouldn't trade places with a millenial for all the gold in fort Knox or the whiskey in Irland, no fucking way. . .
Mike. Te fuiste al cielo. Ya estás con Ángeles y querubines cantando. Qué Dios te tenga en su Santa Gloria al lado de él. Té quiero por siempre y no te olvidaré. Hasta siempre. Lupita México.
I've always loved Monkeys since I was a kid. I would like to express my deepest condolences to Mike's obituary.
R.I.P Michael Nesmith
Tune! Tune!!! Nez sounds fine here; what a super trouper. We’ll all miss him greatly. Thank you for the quality upload, friend.
RIP Mr. Nesmith, I genuinely cried when I heard the news. 😔
Me too. 😢😢😢😢
Me as well. These guys made my life. Thanks
Mickey is the one who carries the Torch now.
Thanks for posting this. Michael Nesmith thank you for all the enjoyment you heaped on everyone who were fans and recognised your talent. Glad l got to speak to you all but briefly in 2019. Condolences to all family friends and fans who got it.
R.I.P. from Guayaquil, Ecuador. (I'm 67 years)
Rest in Peace, my favorite Monkee.
R.I.P Mike!!
RIP to Papa Nez
It's my all time favorite Nesmith tune. I just saw their final show at the Greek Theater in LA last night. Was bummed he didn't perform this but the show was great nonetheless.
The end of an era...was so glad I went to the Orlando show!
Love this song. Great to hear it live
I was there, and got this too, but you had a much better seat & angle! I was 2nd row center, but off to the right. Thank you for this!
So basically this is original Petra with John Lawry and no Bob Hartman? I looooooooove it! Greg Volz is still like a voice god to me!
Petra Means Rock 2020
Where and when was this concert?
Pouco a pouco conhecendo esse universo cristão♡ Obrigada Deus♡
Yeahhhhhhhhh Greg.... Awesome!!!!
