Loooove your book collection!!!! I just read couple of them and now what to read the rest I even didn't hear about some of them, so thanks for sharing
they are pretty eye opening 🤓
War of Art is a good one. I definitely want to read a few more of these! *adds to cart 😅
steal like an artist is probably my fav one of the list!
Few seconds in and am puzzled! Minimalism is not a trend, it's a lifestyle! Minimalism is not making a comeback, because it never gone away! I know that companies are trying to profit of off everything and are trying to sell us milion stuff marketed as "this is exactly what you need to make your home look minimalistic" and it's another useless crap that will break in few months. Let's be real, that is not a minimalism this is a 'pseudo minimalism' As a person who became interested in the lifestyle of minimalism before it became trendy and widely known it pisses me off how minimalism is portrayed and understod these days! Having a colorful space, filled only with pieces that you love and actually use can be minimlistic space. Having a wardrobe filled with many diffrent timeless pieces of clothing that are made from high qualiy, long lasting materials and not giving into fast fashon can mean you are a minimalist. We don't have to be sad beige people with almost empty white spaces to deserve being called minimalistic. But obviously if we want to be a minimalist we are going to continue with this lifestyle even when diffrent lifestyle starts to be "trendy". How stupid it sounds, a trend for a lifestyle eh. Like if we all just started minding our own business and not care what other people are doing life would become so peacefull
Loved that you explained the origins, the social context and the hidden issues of each trend!!! More videos like thisssss please 😍
thanks 🥹 I have a lot of topics I want to look into, so I will definitely do more 🤓
Being aware of minimalism as another consumer trend is really interesting! I think you’re on to something! 😁
everything is a consumer trend 😭
@ Unfortunately 😖
👍
Trends can be such a blessing and a curse! They’ve showed me some things I’ve got a lot of value from - like minimalism or even posting on UA-cam. But when they push towards mindless consumption they can be really harmful. Great thoughts here Martina! 😀
thanks!! definitely, it's a matter of finding balance to not loose yourself 🤓
Oh my goodness thank you so much for booking a Lookbook with me 😭🫶 This was so cool to actually see what the pieces looked like on (sometimes it's hard to fully imagine the way something lays/fits). You had such great pieces to choose from so just I'm happy I was able to bring new life to them ☺
thanks to you!! i've already worn several of the outfits 🧡 tbh i was a bit worried too about the fits when booking the lookbook, but you nailed it 🫡
I love mind maps but I have never thought about using them to come up with project ideas. That’s really interesting 🙏🏻
let me know how it goes :)
I loved the outfits. It’s a perfect combo of dark with a sprinkle of girly which is my style!
i loved them too! do you use more color in summer?
i loved all of the outfits
thanks, me too! it's like i have a new wardrobe now but without buying any new clothes 💆🏻♀️
these fits turned out SO CUTE omg alexa was the perf person to choose for fall vibes
totally!! so worth it
I love the cat microphone 😂
hahahahaha crazy cat lady always
Great video Martina! 90% of my wardrobe is grey or black so I don’t have to stress about styling myself 😅
hahah i see, taking matt's approach 🤓
@@martinasuns Haha Definitely! 😂
This is great, but be careful with saying so much "like", "like", "like"... sounds insecure and too California Valley girl... 😊. Other than that, Bravo!
Such an excellent solution! Thank you!
im glad its helpful to you!!
I love this concept! Having a technique to build some small momentum is SO helpful! Just getting unstuck can sometimes be the biggest hurdle to overcome Great video Martina!
it is ☺️ thank you!
As a fellow UA-camr and creative this video was exactly what I needed! I totally agree with the idea of showing up, even though it is really hard to do! The permission to give up on a project and start a new one is great advice - I feel like sometimes I get stuck on a project and lose interest, but feel too guilty to move onto the next one. I love what you said that you need to move on and just trust that what you've learned will still bring more value to your new project, and you might also one day get back to the old one! It's more about getting into the habit of creating consistently than stubbornly trying to force yourself to work on something you are no longer excited about.
thanks for your comment! yeah definitely, sometimes is hard to quit when you had invested so much time, but in the end its part of the process :)
I wish to live in London, but it's indeed so expensive! Your apartment looks really cute and cozy.
so expensive 😓 thank you 🧡
Love your input, so interesting the "mind map"! I would also specify at the point with rest like you said, for me, sleeping a night or more can help the brain mix and match all the ideas from the previous days and come up with a creative solution
we learned that from our cats HAHA thanks 🧡
Great thoughts Martina! Just showing up and keep going have been the biggest things for me. So simple but super helpful!
thank you!! yeah even if it's only getting 1% better every day that means a lot of progress in the long run 🤓
Excited for you Martina!
thank youuuuu ☺️
Love your story! 👍And so happy you riched your goal!☺👏 We thought about the same but then decide to choose other path and sometimes regret about it, sometimes we are so inspiring think about even more risky steps...and then think again about something more stable in this unstable world. Stuck in this loop of thoughts haha
aww thank you! i literally had you on my mind when i was thinking on traveling the world haha dont regret it, you are living great adventures and settling down will naturally happen over time, traveling might be harder later 😅
@@martinasuns 🤗 "settling down will naturally happen over time" - I hope so :)
keep going
aww thanks 🙏 i will
i prefer different softwares for different programes. And its actually easy to work like that. blender is more like a mix of different softwares and many users like me get overwhelmed by its options
yeah... that's why i started with fusion360 for 3d printing, but many people suggested i learn blender instead so i wanted to give it another chance
The idea of being a lazy perfectionist is so true for me! 😅 I’ve started like 6 different after effects courses and never finished. Fortunately, I’ve learned enough along the way to use the program 🙃 At the same time though I think taking a little time off over the summer is a great idea! It doesn’t make you a procrastinator. It makes you human! 😊 Good luck with blender!!!
i had the after effects phase too haha yeah a break is sometimes needed to come back refreshed and get motivation back ☺️ thanks!!
The only issue i see with this is the audio It sounds you speaking from a cave Idk If you can please look into it Thanks See ya
yeaaa 🥲 apparently my microphone's cable was defective and i only realized once i started editing 🙂↕️the one i'll post next week has better audio 💁🏻♀️
This is so relatable! 😅 Great video - it’s super fun and well done! Now I definitely need to go finish that book!
yesss do that!!!!! and thank you so much ☺️tbh i haven't read a book since that video, i'm doing worse now 🙃
@@martinasuns 😂😂 the real question is how many books have you bought in that time???
@@RileyEndicottgood one hahahaha 4, but they are design inspo books full of pics, and those i've finished 🫡
@@martinasuns Haha nice! There you go!! 😅
If a doll says no, you have to listen to it haha ☺
dolls are wise 🥹
Thank you for sharing. I'm impressed of all the growth and resilience you had to go through to take care of yourself. This is such a heartfelt story I didn't know I needed to watch today.
thanks Bern!! it was sooooo difficult but i guess "thanks" to that, i don't take things that seriously anymore, like i prioritize what i like and i try to get rid of what doesn't add anything positive to my life :)
We love you, so proud of you x

Great video 😊 and useful thoughts to think it over
thanks guapi 🥰

Fuck social media its all for validation
that's quite true 😁
I have way to many books that I haven't read and just looking at the shelves feels overwhelming. It's so easy to put a book down and choose another one, or do something else if I'm not hooked by the first few pages. If I on the other hand decide on just one or a couple of books to bring for let's say vacation or a weekend trip somewhere, I pay much more respect to those books and really try to give them a chance. Fewer distractions is also a reason for that of course.
woa i never manage to read while on vacation! what's your secret?
I think social media/internet destroyed the habit of reading for many people
definitely! so much info in so little time
I don't read much bc all of my reading are for college so I actually have to study the content of the book instead or just reading it
you read a lot then! maybe after college you get to read for fun again
I don’t read books as much anymore because I have much less free time than I used to and I’ve become a bit of a weird perfectionist to the point of neuroticism. Having an e-reader has actually helped me as well as scheduling time away from my phone/computer. I no longer buy new physical books but used books appeal to me very much
how's the ereader experience? i've tried only with the ipad but it's too luminous so i assume it's not comparable
@@martinasuns it’s very different but I’m also an early e-reader adopter. The Kindle Voyage (now no longer available) probably had the crispest, blackest text. There’s more variety on the market and a lot of different brands but I’ve only ever owned from Boox or Kindle. Basically, I like the portability but the UI can sometimes be a bit annoying to deal with vs a real book. E-ink can be a bit more expensive bc it’s so niche but it is definitely a lot easier on the eyes. However, you need either a device with a good front lamp or a different light source and depending on how much you refresh you’ll probably experience some “ghosting”. Purchasing or side loading books can also be a bit annoying but the battery life is pretty impressive on most of these devices. Personally, I probably would never read on an ipad aside from work related things, maybe, but reading on an e-reader is nicer for me and is a much better experience closer to the real thing.
Hey, i am just curious lol Are you German?
hahah no! i'm spanish ☺️
I don't mind books piling up in my library. You can treat it as your physical "Want to read" list. Next time you want to read something new you can just walk to your library and pick up a book that you know you want to read. It's already there. Beats the traditional approach of treating your library as only a collection of books you have read. Works best when you are in the habit of reading multiple books at once.
i have like 50 want to read 😭 but yeah i totally agree with you! and tbh all those unread books inspire you just by reading their titles, so it's great 🫢
This is something I relate to. I used to buy books for many years and they pilled up. It has only the been the past couple of years that I am making it a habit to read daily to increase my knowledge and stop filling the bookshelves with things I wasn't reading. Thanks for sharing 😄
interesting! how are you managing to stick to that daily reading habit?
@@martinasuns I keep it simple with blocking 15-20 minutes every morning to read. I try to stick to one piece of content at a time and rotate between non-fiction and fiction to keep things interesting. If I find myself rushed on some days, I quickly read a paragraph or two just to not break the habit of reading. By carving books into small reading segments, it has made it easier for me to make time
@@thedanielaroswill give a try to your method 🤗
Ohhh, I did the same before, but now only 1-2books for reading. When I finish them I can buy new one:) because when you travel it’s difficult to have a lot of books - traveling helps to solve it 😅 I have e-book but still prefer paper versions. Do you like e-books?
i have many books on the ipad too but i don't like reading in there! i also prefer paper versions, but as you said, when travelling it's not convenient at all!
Great video, Martina! 😊 and it's a great timing as well, since 2024 is just around the corner. I also resonate more with long form content, and I don't believe so much in the "micro learning" excuse that some people use to scroll TikTok for 1 hour 😅 Oh, and the iPhone screen time app is such a good accountability partner, haha.
Thanks!! yeah, tiktok is great for when you are commuting on the tube or whatever, but otherwise it's just a time trap hah
Many people are too addicted to social media and it's unhealthy for them because of the content that's too unrealistic and unoptainable. But for me it's different. For me social media is unhealthy because I spend a lot of it seeing news and debating about political stuff. That doesn't seem to be that healthy either.
so true! algorithms know our weaknesses 🫠🫠🫠
@@martinasuns however I still use a lot of social media even if I wouldn't like to just because I don't have anything better to do. I feel to lonely and bored and despite doing everything I can to do fun activities and find long lasting friends, all this doesn't work out, everyone is always occupied, people only like partying, drinking, eating and watching TV, not doing some fun activities. I try to change it but it's not easy. Therefore it's not really because of social media in itself but instead because of the societal problems. But to be fair it's not always negative. Even tho all this political content can be very nerve wracking, controversial, terrible, etc, at least I've learned a lot of new things about the world and its cultures, I'm pretty educated and erudite, and I also know what injustices exist and can try to fight for a better world. Plus, while political content can make me anxious and stressed, it isn't that much worse than real life conflicts, drama, etc, so it's not like if I avoid all these topics I'll actually stop feeling any negative emotions.
Here to put a second comment cuz that's good for you video haha - I agree with this so much! I LOVEEEE consuming social media, just, not every day. I started seeing UA-cam and Tiktok and Instagram as a luxury product.
aaaaaaaaaa thank you again!!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i love the concept of seeing social media as luxury products, maybe that helps me reduce my consumption even more 🤓
Your video editing is so good! Like, the pacing is exactly right for me to keep my attention and I really like it. I did have subtitles turned on, but then I couldn't see your subtitles anymore. So maybe it's cool if you put subtitles in your video in general, because a lot of people like that and it would help since you're not a native English speaker. Me neither btw haha. New subscriber here, can't wait to watch more video's from you!!!! :D yay
awww thank you so much for subscribing!!! 💗 and for the lovely feedback. I am not the best at keeping the right pace, but with this video i tried really hard so i'm proud you mentioned it :) Oh, regarding the subtitles, i added them manually on the youtube editor because i was lazy, now that you say they disappeared, i'll add them to my edit on the next one (like i see you did on your videos!) 🤝😄
Gosh I feel the same way about YT for sure - it's another streaming platform that I happen to be able to create content on but I LOVE to watch. This is such an important topic. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
thanks to you ✨
