None of those financial requirements in the Philippines are a wise move for expats. Not wise when considering other alternatives in some countries like Cambodia for retirement if over 55 ! A yearly fee of $290 USD is all that is required. Or a simple tourist visa may be renewed for up to 3 years before having to leave the country. Many do this and simply vacation - some every year and just continue on the tourist visa.

This is 100% bullshit.. there's no 20k apartments, not in any place people want to be. In recent years people are getting greedy and asking EU prices for apartments when they are NOT EU quality apartments. You're looking at 80-150k apartments for anything worth living in. Keep in mind they are asking these prices despite having no garbage/sanitation services (it's not a thing in albania you haul your garbage down to dumpsters at the street throughout the city yourself), the buildings in general being older and the pipes not able to support toilet paper / clogged buildings are a regular occurence. Water that can / can not be drinkable, do you feel like rolling the dice that YOUR building has good safe pipes? Elevators being incredibly old, getting stuck in them regularly or just being out of service. Water shortages happen widely in various cities, so do power outages throughout the year. The quality of even the "luxury" apartments are just in appearance if you look a bit closer it's just slapping paint on something older. Not trying to talk badly about it, I love albania. But you have to know what you are getting into and it's not worth the high EU costs people seem to be asking these days, 20k yes. that would be amazing prices for a "fake" luxury apartment in albania, but good luck finding that Also, no it can not be completed 100% online, that is a straight up lie. You submit your documents there yes, But you still have to physically visit immigration at numerous times to provide hard copies and get papers to be taken elsewhere to the bashkia for various permits and paperwork also will need to visit a bank then return to bashkia, etc. etc. Back and forth quite a bit it's not as simple as this fake video makes it seem. Then again you'll need to visit immigration to have photo taken for ID, then wait 2 weeks - month and return in person again to get your card. LOTS of in person visits to immigration / business offices / tax offices and accountants are required to get this done. It's not for the faint of heart. This video leaves off after the VERY first step of going to e-albania and uploading documents. After that you are in the system and can stay until it's either approved or denied. But that's only the very beginning of the process. don't listen to these lies.

You know what's crazy? People coming to the USA over the Mexico border don't need anything like that amount of income. But how many people make $7,500 a month? Even the average in the usa is about 5,999 / month. But if you live in Mexico? Or born there? Who makes $7,500 a month there? That's a very odd little caveat there. Something seems wrong with the last one. I mean, since we have so many of theirs here, why not just do the same overthere? What are they going to do? Kick you out and make you go back home to the USA?
