Valerie singing Ave Maria senior recital December 21, 2010
I like the choir
Good job the person who filmed.. Beautiful..
I miss being part of this. Had the most amazing experience ever. I was tenor 1 in this choir freshman year
We sang this in all state back in my day too! 2001 I think it was. So much fun to do!
cjkahn84 same here! We’re you in the 2001 NJ all state mixed chorus??
cjkahn84 if you were, do you still have the CD? I lost mine and I’m dying to have the music again!
Yes!! I was a member of NJ all state choir at that time too!
@@JenniferWillett me too!!
Me too!!!! 2nd soprano!!
Ai fost la concert?
Wow... This great. Definitely not an easy piece to perform.
We are singing this in the all south jersey choir this year it's so much fun to sing i love it so much🙏🏾
Same I wish I can go back to this moment
"You might be from Texas, but I'm from New Jersey!"
tmea shouldve chose this piece for one of the auditions
Holy Crap that's awesome. It's like apocalypse music.
1:42 i would say tempo from 0-infinity in my mind..
all respects...
magic OuO
Usually, yes.
i was an overtone singer for this... me and another kid were the loudest ones!!! haha the other kid could do amazing grace in overtones...
i think its crazy. I have to do this for the chorus corale.
i couldnt agree more... so glad i was a part of it... im still in awe of the experience almost 2 years later...
Right, I forget NJ All state has a full-orchestra instead of a chamber orchestra, sorry I came from Washington where the ensembles are about half this size.
it was actually four oboes on that part, some of it was unison.
I think he means because the choir is singing what the oboe is playing, the choir should have been more prominent. Even in NJPAC with 360+ high school students, we just couldn't quite overpower the two oboe players who were justbellowing through their instruments.
val.... if you ever stop singing... i will find you and make you start again... you voice is simply heavenly.. i know ive complemented it before but i really mean it. zach fox..
Goosebumps all over my body from the opening measure - WOW!!!
Though it's freakin' awesone, altogether, the guys in the percussuioin section make this piece happen, no matter who's doing it. Kudos to you all, though.
This song reminds me of In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins
Truly, truly epic! I want to start something, not sure what, but it better be something energetic!
@levi99levi Man, the oboe makes the whole thing. It's sinister and dancing around as if gathering support and then the whole thing just explodes. You're totally off about the oboe, dude.
@williambradford12 omg I know. this was awesome. I miss this. SO much. Lol. This was my favorite song..
Boo "naw-dah-luh" It was "nuh-duh-luh-nyaeh"... Still loved doing this,,,
@zfoxxy15 That is the constant problem when you have the orchestra directly in front of the choir... balance.
well done!!!!
@levi99levi yeah i agree.. the oboe could have been quieter... but hey i was in the choir so i really didnt hear the oboe that much when i performed it... especially cuzz i was surrounded by all of the other bass 2s in the choir
The best part of performing that song was the end when we all clapped and stamped at the same time. Everybody looked around in amazement because it sounded like a civil war cannon had just gone off.
Being in that chorus has so far been the best experience of my life.
how am I just finding this recording now? It's PHENOMENAL. Great work.
i miss allstate <3
Were these warm ups converted into a song?
At the end of this whole performance.. this was the finale. i cried after leaving. this was my first and only year (i was in as a senior) and i had such a great time with everyone and it was such a wonderful experience. i miss this so much! It wouldnt have been what it was without all of those who were apart of it. NJ ALL STATE CHOIR 2010 is the best!!!
can you say....INTENSE!!!!! btw i love how Stevie is doing this with us (accompanist) haha. I loved doing panda chant. Im Bass II and had to do basic track the whole time but it was great!
not gunna lie after this song, when Mrs. Buchanan left i tried sooooo hard to hold back my tears.. this year was soo much fun and Malika (the soloist) did soo awesome!
omg i miss all state soo much Mrs. Buchanan was the best ever..
devin is my boy!!!!
so not only was this one of the most amazing musical experiences i've ever been through, we also broke a record!
Yes, we officially hold the record, and I got my CD, much, MUCH better quality recording. No freezes, and almost no echo.
We sound so amazing!!! I miss this!
did anyone get their cd yet??
I find it hilarious we had 3 people on one side and seven on the other.
@iamthecube Then let's see if we can get something really spectacular. Listen to Chanticleer's 2.5 minute "solo" if you get the chance. If you can hear the screaming tones above the chord's moving parts, they sound like a wineglass, and you can get two or more going at once above this cloud of harmonic dissonance and freedom. Oh, it's so uplifting. If you listen to good barbershop, the 5th voice overtone is the same thing, but in this case is just crazy beautiful. It was wonderful with you guys.
@iamthecube I didn't mean to rant, and frankly, I'm glad you have that kind of ability, but if you get the chance to do this song again, see what happens when all 6 or 8 or ten people get on the same wavelength. The select choir of forty I did this with didn't have the presence that the 360 of us did (duh, we're all-state), so overall states performed the whole better, it's just me being a pissy perfectionist. If we can get a reunion of this chorus (which Buch is working toward) cont...
@moxie732 Someone didn't study the music at all. Having performed this even before all state, the point of the soloists is to listen to each other, gradually changing the structure of the overtone chord, of which 12 different harmonic structures can be found in the back of the music. Done properly, and you can look up Chanticleer doing just that, the soloists listen, changing the structure bit by bit while maintaining various shapes. We were good, but not good enough, still it was fun.
