Walking in Their Shoes...Understanding the Impacts of Trauma
Grow & Lead, in partnership with Great Lakes Recovery Centers, invites you to the final webinar in a four-part series on mental wellness in the workplace.
Webinar Objectives:
1. Participants will explore their own life experiences to understand how they influence their actions and reactions today.
2. Using provided client scenarios, participants will consider how the life experiences and trauma clients have experienced might affect actions and reactions.
3. Participants will explore what changes we might need to make as professionals in our actions and reactions to better serve clients.
Presenters:
Donna Burns is the Great Lakes Recovery Center Foster Parent Program, Supervisor. She has over 20 years of fostering experience and over 100 children in her home, with many children having severe emotional disturbances. Taking Trauma Informed Care from "learning it to living it" has led to her being more successful with fostering and adopting children who have experienced trauma. She was the Master Trainer and Implementation Coordinator for the Wisconsin Trauma Project and a Fostering Futures Trauma Coach.
Jennifer Santer (LMSW, CAADC-DP) is the Senior Director for Central Operations at Great Lakes Recovery Centers. During her social work career, she has worked in the arenas of homeless services, child welfare, addiction, and behavioral health. During her time at GLRC Jennifer provided administrative oversight for the Children’s Trauma Assessment team and also served on the team as a behavioral health specialist.

Excellent presentation
How to prioritize actions?
Thank you for watching our training and asking the question. The key to objectives is that they state specific, measurable results. A good resource for more in-depth information can be found here: ctb.ku.edu/en/table-of-contents/structure/strategic-planning/create-objectives/main
Should we always start with the vision ?
How do we formulate or draft objectives, do we start with a verb or noun?
Do you have an introduction to being a Chairperson?
Not specifically. If you go to the Grow & Lead channel, there are many other board related videos. If you still have questions, please send an email to info@glcyd.org. Thanks!
