Mojotone sounds absolutely golden. 🔥
Holy schmoly, what an amazing tone.
I mean, for those of us who are mostly retired and sort of on a fairly strict budget for hobby stuff, a guy could do a lot worse than this Eastman SB59. You can't tell in the poor video quality, but the body is a one-piece mahogany, and the frets were bang on except way up top, and needed a bit of spot leveling/crowning. But nothing crazy out of bounds. Duncan 59's both neck and bridge. This is the first guitar I ever had with Duncan pickups. I've been a stock pickup guy or DiMarzio for more extreme 70's trash. These 59's are staying put.
BTO
I gotta learn some new licks, at least some in the correct century. I'm stuck in the 70's but I'm planning to spend more time practicing rather than simply posting ridiculously labored sound clips. But the comparison is exactly how it sounds. They are two very different sounds, at least to my ears. Both good. These are the import G12M's by the way.
I currently have them both in the same 2x12 cab. I'm about to replace the Mojotone with a Weber C1225.
I have a pair of Weber "Stan Spec" blue baskets in 16ohm that I pulled out and replaced with these new Mojotone BV12M's. Remember those? But they've been pummeled with db over the years so they've loosened up quite a bit. To my ears, the Mojotone need some volume to loosen the doping a bit.
@@bigredguitar5601 I played the Mojotone for two years. I tried the Webber, and it was a blackback era sort of sound. It was too dark for my liking. It lacked highs, so much that my treble, mid, and presence control did almost nothing. I went back to 2022 UK greenbacks, and I'm happy. I did not dislike the Mojotone. It had looser bass. I like the greenbacks a little more in my regular cab (Mojotone British 2x12 angled). It's a big cab for a 2x12, not lacking in bass response. The Mojotone speaker went in my smaller cab that could benefit from the bass it provides. I'm not sure what to do with the Webber.
The Mojotone BV12M has more bottom and midrange push, while the import Celestion G12M has less bottom, slightly scooped midrange, and more top end. Both great speakers, pair really well on a track together.
wow, what a difference. both sound great but massive width difference
Yes Sir, big difference in white noise as well. I mean, the Jaques was only like $129 back in the day. Live, it probably wouldn't matter I guess.
Is the 36th a neck or bridge version?
It's regular spacing neck. I have another 36th Anni F-space tho. It too is a REALLY REALLY great sounding pickup. But right now, I just am learning the Super Distortion. It is really sensitive to pickup height.
DP103 (neck) or DP223 (bridge) ? thanks
@@ace-rob71 The neck (rhythm pickup) is the (DP-103) 36th. The bridge is a DP100 (F space) Thanks Rob for checking it out.
Sounds great. Currently i am using 2 Superdistortions, Bridge & Neck. For me the 36th was to quiet in comparision. But maybe i need to give it another try?
Hey there You mean the super distortion works well also for neck?
@@arvind-h1c yes!
Great sound experience and tones! Congrats! These Dimarzio set is really awesome! Is it a Gibson Les Paul ou a copy? Could describe it and your favorite amp, speakers, pedals ou signal chain to achieve these tones? Thank you very much!
The guitar is just a one-off Chinese single cut, all mahogany, no maple cap with rosewood fingerboard. I always wanted a Gibson LP Custom 1957 Black Beauty with bigger frets, but they are well into nearly $7,000 USD. So I found a small Chinese company who built and shipped it without pickups. It was super inexpensive. It has a mishmash parts list, the screws are kind of a hodgepodge of recycled hardware. But overall it delivers that all-mahogany LP sound with DiMarzios. I re-fretted it myself and installed a new nut, tuning machines, and bridge as well as all the electronics, bridge is wired modern and the neck is wired 50's Gibson spec with CTS pots. I usually just record dry, but I had this rig setup as a stereo system, so I just mic'd both cabinets with SM57's and created a stereo track in Logic X. All the processing is coming from a Neunabor Reverb, Source Audio Nemisis, and boosted by a Boss SD-1. No other processing was done. Main amp is a Metroplex, the B side is feeding the LINE IN of the Laney VH100R for the stereo split.
Hi brother, sorry by later answer. Thank you very much with all your detailed specs and opinion. A cheap and great sound Les Paul, of course! Congratulations!!
Best pickup set ever, period. Great playing and tone. Great demo.
