    Adding 1 additional lane to a highway costs an average of 200 million dollars per mile which is exactly the cost per mile of CA high speed rail. The costs are only so high because this is the first project we have built like this in the usa, costs will decrease once we have engineers and planner with in house experience for future projects. Studies have shown increasing lanes does not reduce traffic due to induced demand but adding the first high speed rail network will vastly improve millions of peoples lives as over 26 million people live in the 2 metro areas alone. We never talk about the TRILLIONS we waste on highways yet everyone bitches and moans when an actual solution is being built.

      ???? Highway construction is one-tenth of what you say. That is why passenger rail is uncompetitive. Freight rail is a business.

      @JoyClinton-i8g I mean when you build trillions into something for the public, are you really surprised when the public uses it. People used to say the exact same thing you said about Japan's first Tokyo Osaka line. And they also said the same thing about Paris to Lyon but both those countries have HSR that are better faster and cheaper when you have more contractors builders that know what they're doing it will be faster and cheaper to build.

    Singapore is no longer the "Little Red Dot On The Map". That moniker was many decades ago when Singapore was still at around 580 sq. kms. in land area and was a 3rd world country. Singapore had already grown to around 728 sq. kms. and continues to grow. But more than the land area, SGP had already grown powerful militarily, financially, economically, infrastructure-wise, health services, sports, 2nd busiest seaport in the world, and most of all it has grown very big in floor space, wall space, roof space, water reservoirs, park connectors, deep tunnel sewerage system, underground spaces and its very impressive MRT railways! That "Little Red Dot" tag is already obsolete. SGP is now a pretty, robust, vivrant and lovely bigger dot.

    China's corporations owes the U.S. banking system close to 15 trillion. And China's Government owes the U.S. banking system 35trillion. On top of oweing the federal government 2trillion to Department of Debt. But China also owns nearly two trillion of the US Treasury department, which is currently 27 trillion.

  • @rajathpai9573
    @rajathpai9573 Рік тому

    The reason for the dollar's global decline is because US federal reserve is increasingly backstopping the dollar domestically and people are increasingly seeing the global economic repercussions for poor american decisions influencing the global market (being the largest trillion dollar economy). The global dollar has created an environment for ineffective economic sanctions (not to mention highly politicised), implying that countries need to be more careful in keeping dollar as the global reserve for the markets. The economic hegemony that props up and propagates the dollar has been disrupted largely by fintech in major economies outside the west, and there are increasing markets that circumvent the dollar due to this. BRICS are increasingly seeing more development towards a global demand for more trade without dollar.

    I'm so proud that I voted no on this stupid project, despite being a Democrat!!! The 80 billion estimate is old, they are saying 100 billion now!!! The good news is that the Governor has some sense, and said "there is no path [financially, to pay the 100 billion dollar cost]" and said there shall be no more construction beyond Merced to Bakersfield. They will complete that section, but nothing else. It will connect to the existing Amtrak California San Juaquin train. HSR needs two things to justify the cost: (1)HIGH population density between A and B (2)low distance between A and B San Francisco itself is very dense. The 2nd most dense city in the USA (NYC being the most dense). But Los Angeles is not. So that fails (1). The distance is 480 miles (611 km), so that fails (2). And the chosen route is even longer, as you said over 500 miles (804 km). The route is so stupid. If you want to build brand new track, the correct route would be I-5, with the Bay Area station being Tracy, so you only have to dig a tunnel at The Grapevine (just south of Bakersfield). That route could actually be done in 2 hrs 40 min. It still would not replace the one hour flight, so it wouldn't make the SF to LA air route any less congested. If you route is so far that you are only competing with driving, and most people fly the route you chose, it's a bad project!! Anybody can go on 511 (can't put links on here but just google 511) and look at the traffic map, and see the traffic is WITHIN the Bay Area and WITHIN LA/SD, not BETWEEN the two! Nobody is commuting from SF to LA!! Argh. 🙂

      @@neutrino78x Neah, you're wrong again. The IOS is replacing the San Joaquins which is the 5th most popular rail route in the country. That IOS will be connected to the shortened San Joaquins and ACE from day one. So we will have over 20 million Californians connected with HSR and high quality intercity rail. Again, this does not look good for you obstructionists. It's looking like you lost the game, the set, and the match on this one.

    • @neutrino78x
      @neutrino78x Рік тому

      @@TohaBgood2 "The IOS is replacing the San Joaquins which is the 5th most popular rail route in the country." Yeah, I suppose that's true. They're still out of money as a project, and the Governor said no more construction would occur beyond the IOS. Plus the normal San Juaquins is still going to need to run, as they're only running one track for CAHSR (as far as we know right now). "Again, this does not look good for you obstructionists. " I don't see how. The project was supposed to be SF to LA, not Merced to Bakersfield, and now it's cancelled (once they complete the IOS it's over). We voted on 35 billion, not 100 billion. If they had gone down the median of I-5 like the Japanese and French told them they should, they have been able to do at least Tracy to Los Angeles, with the tunnel at the Grapevine. Since they made many stupid decisions, the project is over when the IOS is complete.

    • @TohaBgood2
      @TohaBgood2 Рік тому

      @@neutrino78x Dude why do you have to lie the same debunmked lies all the time? Didn't you already concede defeat on a bunch of these misinformation points in previous conversation with me on youtube? How do you expect to lie the same lie again and not be called out on it? You know full well that the governor said no such thing. You people keep citing the State of the State address from 2019. But that speech is literally on UA-cam. Anyone can go watch the speech and see for themselves that what you say is just not what he said. The French made three plans for all the three routes that were being considered in the early stages. They explicitly state that they had no preference for which route to build and that more studies were needed to actually identify the correct route. The tunnel under the Grapevine that the I-5 alignment required proved to be insanely expensive so that route was dropped almost immediately. The French team itself could not come up with a strong bid and were eliminated from the competition in favor of the Spaniards (Dragados) and the local highway contractors like Tutor Perini. The Japanese had an insane bid that was all viaduct and would have cost at least 10x. They were eliminated very quickly too from the bidding. We voted on a system that could not predict new Federal HSR regulations that were coming down the pike. The actual system that we voted on was priced at $44 billion (in 2008 dollars) per the Federal regulations. Everybody knew that this was coming and we still voted for it. Do you have any new material that is not quite so thoroughly debunked? I can recite these debunkings off the top of my head now, without even looking anything up. Come up with some new and more fun misinformation. You're getting boring with this old trash.

    Everyone bitches about California highspeed rail project. The space x starship just blew up. All that money down the toilet, every damn red cent. What no one is gripping about it? They wanna put some fool on mars at a cost of 500 billion dollars, a planet that doesn't even belong to man to possess. That is a chunk of change and nonsense and foolishness. Who ever goes to mars is going to die. Thank god there were no people on board that rocket when it blew. Who ever said that any project never goes through difficulties? The first Japanese bullet train went way, way over budget and suffered a great deal of difficulties and controversial issues. Today Japan is an empire when it comes to these modern marvels of transportation. Infact, now they are giving rise to the next level, maglev super train technology, now being built from Tokyo to Nagoya with capable speeds of up to 375mph. Japan saw the project completed and now has the second largest highspeed rail structure on the planet next to china. We're supposed to be mighty. If they can do it sure enough we can too. Wanna talk about a project? Look at all the crap they went through to build the English Chunnel bullet system! Tunneling beneath the entire English channel. But they did it and is a technical engineering marvel, a fine exsample of human achievements The mighty United States of America should of had highspeed bullet trains decades ago.
