    Fun Fact. Did you know that the Bible mentions Tanks. I'm not sure what the verse was that mentioned it, With the Bible, it talks about Armored Chariots and some other stuff which I can't remember of the head, but I think that means tanks, also I learn about this from a tank book so yeah.

    Ir missiles are the ones you are using that chase after heat. Sarh missiles Chace after your radar signature. However this means the aircraft that shot the missiles need to keep the radar lock to guide the missisle. So if you can force them to lose the lock you can dodge it easily

    The F-5C is THE best jet at its br but is very skill dependant, if you learn it you will be able to beat ANYTHING you come across. The F-5C has a bat thrust curve but its energy retention and its thrust shoot through the roof around .95 mach, if you can keep it there and turn horizontally to keep speed (vertically if you really have to) this will make sure you have optimal performance and make it easy to catch upp to someone if they run away. The missiles are subpar at best and have about a 1.5km range rear aspect (if launched at around mach). Hope this helps

    P.S as a side note you choose to buy one of the worst jets to learn jet combat since F-5s don't really play like other jets. For learning missile jet combat the F-4S is a much better pick or one of the many ''cheap'' event jets on the market such as MiG-23 for germany or Mirage 2000CS4.

    IR missiles can be explained like a guy with ADHD. The guy is paying attention to something, then getting distracted by other little things. The Aim-9B being riddled with it, and the Aim-9M having almost none. The Aim-9B has the worst ADHD out of the U.S AAM, while the Aim-9E still has ADHD, it's not as bad as the Aim-9B (still pretty bad.) Something which you'll encounter alot is the Aim-9L (planes like the A-10 have it,) which still has ADHD but it's much less than the Aim-9B. How to get those lower ADHD missiles to get more distracted by the little things. Turn off afterburner (makes them pay more attention to you if it's on.) And move away from the flares, up, down, left or right, anywhere. What the combination does, is it takes their concentration off of you, and focuses on the flares. Though I only suggest doing the combination for Aim-9L's and above, as for something like an Aim-9E, it's over kill. However I would still suggest turning off the afterburner for Aim-9G's. Also be aware of all-aspect missiles. Aim-9L's and R60M's and above are all-aspect missiles, meaning they can lock onto you from even the front but, the lock on range is shortened to about 3 Km. Though it's easier to counter an all-aspect missile from the front than from behind, either pop some flares or launch another missile at the all-aspect missile, the burner from the missile you launch at it will distract the incoming missile completely, as the burner from your missile burns hotter than your plane. For Awareness, you can do 3 things. Look at the minimap in the top right corner of your screen quickly to see if there are spotted enemies there, and see where they are. You can also look at the bigger map to see where they're heading, if they're heading away from you, they aren't really a threat but, if they're closing in on you, just assume that a missile is already on the way. And for the third option is using the good 'ol looking around.

    I really hate to be that guy, but IR (infrared) missiles are the ones that will seek out the nearest heat source, and SARH missiles (semi active radar homing missiles) are the ones that seek out the nearest 'clutter' (nearest obstruction within their seeker radius- usually your plane or chaff, though it can lock onto another missile, debris, ect). Once you get to higher tiers like ~11.7+ you're gonna have to deal with more SARH missiles like Aim-7s and the such, which can be dealt with by either notching (turning a sharp 90 degrees and chaffing to confuse the seeker head) or a high G barrel roll (essentially just holding S and D/A at the same time). Anyway, I just found your channel today and I really like the videos, so I hope you keep up with the great content :D (edit; I just noticed that someone else posted a similar comment, so sorry about that. i can't believe i clicked on this video just to see a F-5C player complain that they bought something that is out of their league just because "i got tired of not having an afterburner". when you are playing at 7.3 being your first jet and then you jump up three whole BR's up and then you start to complain because you didn't learn anything in the early jets that had missiles and 8.0 and up. If you were patient enough , in the same line (as of this date) there is F9F-8 that can carry four aim-9B's. That is when he could have started learning how to dogfight and use missiles. And, no im not saying that it's easy to learn jets in war thunder but, if you went up the tree instead of paying for what you thought would be fun turned disaster, you would have known how to play at that BR at that point.

    Tip for WT players new to jets with afterburners and missles Stay Fast, Stay low and lead your missles in turns, also if you want maximum accuracy set your gun targeting distance to 800 but use the other ranges to seek your preferance (doesnt do much for aircraft with nose guns). also learn combat manuvers such as the rolling scissors, the U-turn or in rare cases with specific aircraft the kovoture's bell or more famously know as the "cobra". The "cobra" can be preformed easily ingame with the j35D drakken, j35XS, F14A and F14B tomcat (aswell as the event one), Sukhoi 27 (Su27) and the Su27SM. Also tips for missle ranges: aim9B and D both have a high kill chance range of 1.5km and are rear aspect guided (meaning they target the aircraft engine)or less, aim7C and D try to use them between 1-2km, The aim9E, J and P are all similar being in that they are all rear aspect guided and have a sucess rate in ranges between 1km - 3.5km, the aim7E, and E-2(Dogfight missle) also have a sucessful launch range between 1km - 12km for the aim7E and the E-2 has a sucessful range of 1km - 10km in front aspect, the aim9L decent launch range is between 1km - 4km rear aspect and try not to use them front aspect, the aim7F is a great and reliable missle when it comes to head-ons but like the other aim7s listed above when the enemy get close to the ground they lose lock on the targeted aircraft, its ideal launch range in a headon is 3km - 14 km (the close the missles it to the target the highr chance it hits an enemy, thats why i am listing ranges and not the marked launch and lock ranges in-game), the aim9M very good missle try and use it the same way as the aim9L it pulls harder and its irccm (Infared Counter-Countermeasure seeker) is improved so it wont go for flares MOST of the time and has a higher top speed and can pull more g's (acceleration forces) turning harder than the aim9L, aim7ms are the best aim7 ingame my PREFERRED range is in a head-on between 3/4km - 12/15km, Aim54A and aim54C we dont like those (i dont like them) they are annoying to deal with and if you are on the recieving end of them break out the bible, hug the ground, pray and pull 15 G's or try to notch them but i try to refrain from nothing them because they have a huge explosive warhead and they spotting system ingame tends not to pick them up very well even with an aced or expert crew and if you see one the is a hoard coming, if your lucky there will be one f14 player using this meathod ( its sucess rate fluctuates depending on the distance they are launched on and the altitude and radar mode used on the launch) on the enemy team you may notch them is you can see the red dot coming toward you and you a radar misses like an aim7 to take of the high fly f14 since they are too far away from the ground and most likely took a lot of fuel. MY PREFERRED laucn range for the aim54 pheonix is 25km - 40km at an altitude of 2000m or 3000m For the aim120s they are ARH (active radar homing) unlike the aim7 SARH (semi-active radar homing) meaning it has a built it radar that activates at the distance of 15km of your target and if the aircraft your using has datalink( the ability to communicate to ARH missles and SARH missles) you can unlock the target and move onto another one. (f5C with gun targeting distance of 800m is very effective) I recommend using SRC PD HDN (Pulse Doppler Head-On)or SRC PD (Search Pulse Doppler) radar mode for your radar missles in front aspect general use, TWS (track while scan) is a long distance search and lock mode, great for detecting enemies and using fox 3s/Amraams. Feel free to correct me in replys and only talking about US missles because of this video's topic and i like his videos. also dont buy top tier prems the learning curb is steep and if you want to get gets fast F2P play sweden its a short and relaxing grind, also if yuo are unable to buy premium time or it ran out there are twitch Esports livestreams heal by gaijin to get rewards like premium time, custom avatars and custom vehicle skins, THE SKINS DO NO GIVE YOU THE VEHICLE AND CANNOT BE SOLD ON THE MARKET PLACE. There is also a feature that lets you grind a free tank,aircraft or ship by playing the game, its called the squadron vehicle, you need to join a squadron its free and select the vehicle you want to buy and play until the bar gets full. for the bar to be filled you neext to gain squadron points, squad points are gain by gaining rp until the 320 Marker fills up you get 20k squad rp. These vehicles are no premiums they give the same rewards as a vehicles in their tier, Battle Rating (BR). Feel free to correct me on any topic in the reply section and hope this "little" tip helped you in any way :)

    3:50 God warthunder's teamkill penalty system sucks. You can lose tons of SLs for things completely out of your control, like your missile locking onto a friendly or a teammate driving into an artillery strike. Also killing someone who is actively teamkilling will penalize you as well.

    • @peyj7977
      @peyj7977 24 дні тому

      except that the team kill was in his control. he fired a missile while the friendly was clearly flying into the path of the missile. also he continued to fire at the dead plane with mgs which is just an obvious attempt to get a kill steal. the only correct thing to do there is to not fire the missile at the already dead plane. you need to know that missiles literally have a mode of its own, and if there's even a chance of it locking onto a friendly, you shouldn't fire it.

  • @aaronschurmann5923
    @aaronschurmann5923 29 днів тому

    Awesome! I really like how you want to learn and i wanna share what i know. i dont play War Thunder jets myself but i watch, i play DCS, i know most about missiles from there but what i talk about is implemented in War Thunder. More on missiles: Heatseekers (=infrared) have an IR camera and look for heatsources, they are passive sensors, just listening and not putting anything out into the world so you dont get a launch warning for them. But sometimes you get a radar ping or lock before someone fires a heatseeker on you because their radar is on, the seeker itself would not need a radar at all, turning off radar makes them more stealthy. They also work on heat so it helps to turn off afterburner while flaring to confuse them. They get the best heat signature while behind a plane. Radar sends out a signal to reach the other plane that it can recieve, this means that this shows on the Radar Warning Reciever RWR (the circle on the left) and would alert you if you are locked by someone or a missile is launched. Modern jets like F4, F5 and Mig23 have pulse doppler radar, meaning it can sense things coming towards it or going away from it because of the frequency change of the reflection. If the ground reflects a different frequency than you. It can pick you out from the ground unless chaff is involved, which are lots of aluminum strips, they start at the same speed as your plane but slow down fast, and expand and reflect lots of radar, almost hiding you behind it. Even if you are not hidden completely, to the radar it started as one target, and it turned into 2, so it has to choose which one to keep chasing, this is the same between Radar+Chaff and IR+Flares, missile systems remember your old speed and course, thats why maneuvering while dropping countermeasures helps. Flying low and chaff while missiles are behind is good for most situations but another way is by flying 90° sideways to the radar, this avoids doppler shift, since you are now not going towards or away from the radar but going sideways. You will reflect the same frequency as the ground, which means you look like the ground to the radar, with the help of chaff you can break lock. This is called "notching" because its exactly 90° to the radar and it cant see you there. Its not always practical since you cant easily notch multiple enemies, and it keeps you from running away while one enemy is closing, this technique is useful if you are too close to get the missile behind you, or want to be aggressive, the RWR helps you position the radar at the 90° position. Like a Clock at the 3-9 Position. Radar locks can reach further than IR so the radar missiles are usually longer range than IR missiles. Some more on Energy, you got the idea well. Speed is life, speed helps you run from missiles and be a hard target, it also helps you turn better by pulling more G, this is really important to stay alive, but turning uses speed/energy. Also speed influences acceleration, in F5 the faster you go the faster it accelerates until Mach .9 if you are at 500kmh it takes some time to get back speed. Climbing and descending exchanges speed and altitude so this is not losing energy. Because every turn loses energy, if its not necessary dont turn hard. For turning around quickly and efficiently you can use an Immelmann which is a half looping, the climbing reduces speed (by gaining altitude) so you pull less G, so you lose less energy, and gravity helps you turn at the top making it faster, after it you can descend again and gain your speed back. The reduced speed makes you vulnerable so look around first before doing this. A High Yo-Yo is also an option, putting your nose up and turning to then descend afterwards again, might save a little energy. But i dont know how well this works since jet acceleration is better at high speed.

    while i do notice that u are improving, you still play like the average f5c user, which they almost always do 2 or 3 things wrong. The first is using your missles incorrectly, save them for easy targets that are not paying attention, like people who are groundpounding (hitting ai if ur dumb) or ppl who have no flares (like the f4c or the f105) to make them turn and bleed there speed. The second is energy retention. I notice that you focus more on not getting overshot then keeping your speed, which is not the way to play the f5c. ALMOST ALWAYS keep your speed above mach .9ish (the higher the better). And finnaly, you are not mantaining suffiiant situational awarness, according to my experience when I first started out playing the f5e almost 90% of the time I died was to a rear aspect missle, ALWAYS glance around before engaging and enemy, ALWAYS look around every 30 seconds ish, this lead to a massive inprovment of skill on my part and it should on you to. (i love how u put my j7e clip in there). and i have met some ladys who are at least as good as me if not better. Some bonus tips Learn and Be confident with the 3 S's (stay fast, stay low, stay unspotted) the last one is by far the most difficult Learn the planes that you fight Dont full commit headons (they kill both ppls) and u dont wanna ever mess with an a10 named ccfryer
