Thanks for your Comment, what State do you play in, always interesting to see how levels vary from place to place.

NJ - my wife is a 3.0 and can put balls away sometimes. The woman on the bottom right (Initially) has absolutely nothing on her ball - can't be 3.0 The two guys are solid 3.2 maybe. The point is that if my wife were in this group ((she's a 3) she would play at the same level as they guys in the video. It's not a function of someone being better but it's a function of two people of the same level will have different ratings depending on their exposure to others (competition). This is true anywhere in any sport.

@@beyondthepale9071 the ability to put balls away, alone, doesn't equate to DUPR rating. She has decent soft game at the kitchen and put a few right in the corner several times. She understands point construction and how to set-up her partner for put away and is absolutely ruthless at attacking the "weaker" player. She put a few speed ups on the male opponent to keep him honest too. Similar to a golf handicap, you don't have to drive it 300yds to be a scratch golfer.

Its Interesting how the levels of play are so different from place to place. What City are you playing in?

USA pickleball says otherwise

They have soft placement, dropping their third shots and resetting the ball. They only speed up on bad serve returns and kitchen popups, you don’t see them banging drives from the baseline.

This sort of reply gets posted on every match video at any level. I just think people commenting think they’d look cleaner on video than they actually do lol

Don't worry about the comments lol. The opponents didn't seem like 4.5 but you can only play the team in front of you. Anthony and Tram seem pretty good though.

It's fun though and this is just a game

If I had to guess, it sounds like he's annoyed by how long it takes having to wait before the serve for the official to announce the score. He's saying "he's trying to get in a rhythm" but I'd also assume that's mostly frustration being down multiple game points. That happens too.

That last comment was spot on, he was frustrated he had to wait for the Ref to call the score, he was kinda wondering around in the back court sometimes between points and the Ref was waiting for him to appear ready, he said he was ready but to the ref he wasn’t.

I'd guess being down 5 points to 10 :)

I think all 4 players will be moving up to 4.0, technically anything below 4.0 is Technically able to play at 3.5, including 3.97, this draw was 24 Teams deep and a lot of very good teams! Thanks for watching!

with out other eyes this is what i hate about competitive play. you have to go with what the other side calls. Id say most are honest even if they are called a certain way its what they think. This was a really good game. imho these players should be in a higher dupr for this age group. Def much closer to 4.0

​yeah I just started watching and have seen two questionable calls already. To claim a hinder on the ball behind was shady and the out call on the over head to the right line looked in to me.

Not only that, when they hit a clearly out ball they ask the ref to confirm it. Also I have seen cleary in called out. The other teams needs to challenge more.

12" inside base line called out. Don't think I have ever seen that, thankfully.

The pink and blue team may be better than 3.5, but the other team definitely not. Too many unforced errors

I was just going to post these are very solid 3.5's if not better.

Every 3.5 tournament is won by 4.0 players.
