You Sir, are decidedly Weird...... And I like that! You earned yourself another Sub today, and a like, so... You didn't butcher it, and now Beck-a identifies as a screaming, shoe-gazing, Chug Monkey! To me, that's a good thing. It might have been a bit better if you had given us a Before/After video to demonstrate her new trem skills versus her old weak ones? I dunno, it's your channel. Keep 'em coming Mr. Loving, whomever you are. lolin'
Dude, stop beating up and scratching the paint off your guitar. Have mercy on that poor little helpless Strat ! LOL - I am only joking :)
Thanks Max, you can see I’m having real fun with Becca. Cheers my friend. 🍺☺️🎸
Keep practicing 😂
🍺😎👍🏼
Been doing this for about 20 years on my strat. It works!!
Thanks for watching and sharing. After decades of wanting to see for myself, I did it. Cheers to girls like Becca. 🍺😎🎸
Ok, I see now. Because of the setup on Becca, she has more pitch range for deeper dive bombs (or less whammy bar depth of travel to achieve your ear results), but as a result you lost range for whammy bar pitch rises, which the body routing solves. Punk on!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yes, I did just as you said. I like feeling the results in my hands. It sort of feels less loaded, more sensitive and softer to operate.
Are you high?
Someone's tweaking 😂
I've been searching the web for this for months!!! I want this on mine Strat...
Inventive, brave, and entertaining... like all your videos! Not many would pursue such an endeavor on an expensive Strat, but Harley Benton's price point and quality offer ideas that should be explored! Thanks for sharing!
Uh, I really question your mental sanity.
@jjcale @lovingsguitar Me Too! Ain't it Kool?! I wish me and Mr. Loving were neighbors!
That backing track though...
The secret is very little friction on pivot points, and equal tension on both springs and strings...its a fulcrum. If you're floating it
Good idea put a bar like Ulrich stainless bar
13:50 They do!! Charvel has a recessed bridge and Charvel is made by Fender.😉👍
Should have bought a VEGA TREM
While a few others in the comments don't seem to have anything helpful to say, I think the idea has merit, but maybe not with a vintage style bridge. I seem to remember when Guthrie Govan was playing prototypes for his Charvel Signature, the did something similar, but with a more modern 2 point bridge to allow him to pull up on the bar and it seemed to work. Ultimately they went for a Floyd Rose without the fine tuners, but the idea is the same.
Thank you, Stephen. Thanks for watching and commenting. I’ve this urge to this for decades however never had a guitar specifically to explore this concept to testing status. Thanks for pointing out the comments that refused to see this was an experiment enabling me to answer this question I’ve had for so long. On my vintage as well as my other HB ST62’s, I would not do this on. Thankfully nowadays cheap guitars well made allow for experimentation. What I’ve learned now is increased vibrato range is possible adding another half step in upward range without the strings fretting out. Cheers to constructive feedback, much appreciated. 🤘😎🎸
👍🏻👍🏻
So very pointless.
Terrible relic job. Good luck experimenting 🤣😂.
Settle Down... Beavis!
Are you coming down from mushrooms
Creating more problems, you now cant run a low action or the strings will be belling out on high frets when you pull back on the whammy bar.
This particular guitar has been a test vehicle for a few years now. All frets have been leveled, crowned and polished. It’s been used to experiment with wirings, capacitors, springs, etc. I have all my other ST62’s setup as floaters with outstanding tune stability. Being conscious of how far I can pull back without the strings ever hitting the frets. To me it was question I’ve had for several decades which i was afraid to ever approach until I chose to set aside a guitar for the majority of my experiments. Despite the controversy this guitar is now WAY MORE FUN however it remains my personal lab rat.
@@lovingsguitar Your not the first to try this and all have failed, the only trem/bridge system that stays at a consistent height and doesn't kill the intonation is the bigsby tremolo.
@@johnzapper1652 everybody has been dive bombing with the floyds forever dimebag could and his guitar stayed in tune (intonated) I had an sg with a bigsby its old timey crap sucks compared to a real deal floyd locking tremlo so.. 🤷♂
@@xentrix89 We aren't talking about Floyd Rose or dive bombing buddy, try to keep up.
@@johnzapper1652 you can do all the same things and more on a floyd tuning stability is better the only reason you'd want a bigsby or this crappy fender whammy is for a look
What does this accomplish? You can just loosen the claw in the back to have a floating trem, so I'm not sure what you're getting out of it.
Setting up as a standard floater/ springs balanced, claw adjusted and tune stability I’ve down on all my six point trems. This guitar has been a testing vehicle for years. The point of this was to see, hear and feel for myself any differences rather than accept an understanding of acceptance that it’s wrong or inconceivable. This guitar remains as my lab rat and now way more fun because of it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This is what makes budget guitars more fun than expensive guitars. No one in their right mind would attemp such a thing with an $1800 Stratocaster. They just take it out of the case and rub it with a diaper once a week.
That relic job is piss poor.
Wow, not everyone feels like lending a hand like you 😉...who has the love of the guitar in the title...😊 but anyway... the joy of watching your videos is guaranteed...👏 thanks to you...🤗 your spirit😎🤘 ... it's funky🕺, lovely❤ and unique👌... a pleasure to have met you...🍀
why don't you just take some springs out and float it?
@@robertstan2349 All my Strats are floaters on three springs with the exception of this one, Becca. This experiment was about recessing into the body to allow the bridge plate to recess below the surface of the body. Thanks for watching.
I got one of these base on the good reviews on You Tube, but the colour is actually brilliant white not whats shown on the website, the fret ends were razor sharp, also it was extremely heavy, heavier than my std Les Paul .... I returned it ... 😞
The original Stratocaster Tremolo or Vibrato is designed to float. Just shim the neck or lower your bridges alittle and set the Unit to float. With a good Tremolo Unit like Fender Vintage or Callaham and a well made nut you can have your guitar tuning within 98% stable. When the 6 Screws are perfectly in a row like on a Fender, Warmoth or MJT Body you can even flutter with it.
@@j.schaefer5622 All my Strats are floaters on three springs with the exception of this one, Becca. This experiment was about recessing into the body to allow the bridge plate to recess below the surface of the body. Thanks for watching.
This is a very cool idea. I might just try it on my cheap Strat which I have nicknamed "Frankenstrat". You did a great job with that Dremel tool, are you a part-time Dentist ? LOL Thanks Lovings-Guitar - Keep on Rocking and the good times a-rolling !
Thanks, Max. This is exactly the benefit of having a super low price guitar that is actually fine as it is yet the impulse to explore concepts is not forbidden or in fact financially costly. I would not have done this experiment on an overly priced brand. The chances I’m going to improve the concept is already being sketched. The moral of the story. If it’s in your head get it out and see for yourself your creativity come to life. 🪓😷🎸
Hello from France !!! Wonderfull playing ! I am interested by one of these Harley Benton SC, you said prefering the new SC550 II, can you tell why ? Thanks.
Thanks so much for watching. The SC450 Honeyburst, is a down right good guitar in all aspects more akin to an LP with a medium/chunky neck with Roswell pickups with split coil features. The SC550ii is a great guitar with slim 60’s neck, tesla pickups, no split coils, stainless steel frets. Personally the 550ii, in my opinion is an overall exceptional guitar playing experience. Both guitars are good players however I do prefer the 550ii over the 450. The Tesla pickups on the 550, sounds like cross between a Gibson PAF and an epiohone burstbucker.
Just take out some springs
This guitar unlike my other ST62’s was set up as a rigid bridge. After this mod, it came to life. It now holds tune endlessly with more travel than how originally it was set. I've had many variations of spring quantity including spring brands and spring tensions. Joy.
You’re making good use of this ST-62 - nice to have at least one guitar earmarked for “experimentation”. Yet another excellent video. 👏🏻 Thank you. 😊 Do you replace nuts and see any benefit? On these excellently made cheaper guitars I wish they would include a bone nut or similar and I tend to make that swap pretty early on mine.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yes, Becca, my lab rat. She really is a good guitar. As stock, from the beginning she was impressive however I have so many other Harley Bentons, that I gravitate towards more regularly including other ST62’s. The nuts, on all my Harley Bentons have been well cut. All decent models of Harley Bentons feature Tusq nuts, no compliants. Becca, may not get as much attention than my other Harley Bentons but she's loved. She’s a good lab rat.
@@lovingsguitar tusq is even better. I have 2 HBs - TE-53 & TE-52 - both excellent guitars. Changed to compensated brass saddles on the TE-52 and a tusq nut. TE-53 has a bone nut I think. Really love playing them. I must say watching your vids is always an encouragement to pick them up (yet again …). Keep ‘em coming! Really excellent content.
I think I may have this same issue
The guitar had no issues to begin with. That being said, “Becca”, a Harley Benton ST62, has been my test vehicle for many sorts. Next one will be much better as know now it’s worth more investigation. Thanks for commenting.
@@lovingsguitar thank you
Cool man. I love the HB Teles. That thing would look sexy with the antique white pearloid pick guard to match the binding.
Thanks, she definitely my most played TE-62. I replaced the saddles with compensated brass saddles. An amazing price for a guitar that plays as it should.
Thought I was subscribed in the past, but I guess I wasn't, so I just did! It's interesting seeing your HB caramelised maple neck taking on its natural aging and relicing. I don't think I've seen one quite as played as yours. I saw your video where you removed the body finish.
Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing. I have 28 HB’s, and this particular one The Bat, is my favorite. It truly is a dreamy experience with the NoCaster 51 pickups.
Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing. This particular HB, is my favorite. Truly a dreamy lightweight paired with NoCaster 51 pickups. 🤘😎🎸
omg...👀 the background track corresponds to the police siren in my home country🙈, it's called "Martinshorn" over here😉... that really alarms me👀... I like your sound much better... 😊 and the thing about the water is a good tip... but don't overdo it... who wants to have water in their legs😉? Happy Weekend 4all... have a nice one🐣
Thank you Walt, for commenting and sharing. I never knew this siren alarm sound had a name. I’ve written songs with sirens in involved however this was the first time I involved the, Martinshorn into a progression. Drink water but not too much. Cheers my friend. 🍺

🚨 Keep enthusing. More guitars will be played as a result. 🚨
Thank so much for watching. I hope those beginning at any age will be inspired to explore the possibilities.
Hi, It's possible to know the exact dimensions of the bridge (from 1 to 6 screw)?. I have a Musiclily ultra 52.5mm and I would like to know if it is compatible. Do you also know if a standard fender neck will fit? I have a good Squier neck. Can you tell me how far apart the 4 neck screws are and the width of the notch? Thank you very much, Alberto
Nice guitar! 👍🏼 and beautiful looping! 👏🏼😊 the final dance was the ghost track of this video 😄 yeah man! let’s gooo🤙🏼🤙🏼👍🏼😁

Oil on the chisels to prevent rusting, I’d guess
Yes, agreed. Soon I’ll be testing the chisels.
Now that´s a cool hoodie. I was at CBGB´s when that house was rocking back in the late 70s What is up with all those sharp tools? Are you going to chop up some guitars?... or maybe those pesky neighbors? LOL
Keep ‘em coming. Love your reviews and your whole vibe. Truly original channel.
Good video, one question about hat St-20 HSS, Is it good for keeping the strings tuned in general? And after using the tremolo bar ?
At first, like many six point S style bridges unless properly setup will have issues. The only mod I did was replace the string trees with string rollers. I have mine setup as a floater for 09’s. It’s a fun guitar for the price. The nut on the st20’s are plastic however was cut pretty decent. Remember to lube the nut. My holds tune really well.
@@lovingsguitar thanks for the reply, you rock ✌️
@@lovingsguitar by the way, do you think it's necessary to replace the nut or just lube ? And what lube do you use ? 🤙
my general rule is this; If the first fret doesn't buzz or string goes out of tune by string over first too high off first fret then the nut is fine. String tree rollers and nut lube should do the trick. I've used BIG BENDS, Nut Sauce and MUSIC NOMAD, Tune-It. Both work very well. Stay tuned I will be making a video on how to setup a vintage six point bridge trem as a floater.
Try "comfort cuts" on that heavy beast....❤
Thanks, not a bad idea however it’s my only real heavyweight and love it as is. Totally different than my lightweight. Thanks for the suggestion. 🍺😎
