I’m the 4th generation on our family farm. So on this channel I’m going to talk about our story, where we came from, how we almost lost the farm, the hard times we went thru and the heartache we encountered. Then I’m going to tell you where we are today and where we are going. In this journey I’m hoping to wake people up to what is going on in this crazy world. I’m going to show you how to prepare by getting out of debt, then buying silver and gold, then how to safely buy crypto well growing your own protein on your property. My goal is to help people bring farms back to life 1 acre at a time without going into debt! I’m going to also show you how to fix what you can to keep more money in your pocket! Please come on this journey with me and my family. I’m hoping to make it fun and educational! Stick around to see how it all comes together.

I can really relate to this, I too was super quiet and didn’t fit in at school. Struggled but got through. I also struggled after that through my 20s being walked on both in everyday life and in the work force. I’m finally getting to where I see my worth and am grateful for what confidence I have but still struggle to see myself as a leader or teacher. This holds me back in the workforce a lot. But slowly the Lord is working on me and allowing me to see that not only has he blessed my hands but that he’s calling me out to lead and teach the younger generation. Calling a 401k a Ponzi scheme while investing in crypto is peak irony
My biggest problems with 401Ks are that people generally have no say in what broker the account is with. A lot of times there are very limited choices for what to invest in and they usually have high fees like the target date funds. So your money is in money jail for 30 or more years paying fees. I was also told by T Rowe Pice that I can’t roll the money into an IRA until after I quit my job.So my money is in money jail. If you are self employed and can get a self-directed 401K then that would be the way to go.
Yikes
Crypto aside, there is value in having liquid assets which usually isn't being accounted for by the average Joe. More cash means more options. The fundamental argument here is that by giving the government more of your money, you are limiting your options to make money in other avenues.

"Mutual funds are scams". Buddy read the Little Book of Common Sense Investing by John Bogle. You're killing me. "Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it earns it, he who doesn't pays it". -Albert Einstein
Please educate yourself on investing before you cash out your 401k. It's weird seeing a middle age man turn into a crypto bro. You're setting your family up for financial tragedy. The 10% early withdrawal penalty and the need to pay income tax on the withdrawal as well. So just by doing that alone you lose 35% of the account. It's very scary your wife is a teacher and your family doesn't understand basic financial concepts. Also, what is your wife invested in in her 401k? What are the fees associated? That is important to know.

Investing for retirement isn’t about A vs B, it’s about a portfolio of assets each with different purposes to get you to the end goal. Nothing wrong with investing in crypto, as I do too. But using other vehicles such as 401k, Trad IRAs, Roth IRAs, and brokerage accounts is very important. To fully appreciate this you need to understand tax advantages, tax deferrals, withdraw ladders, and most importantly, risk. This man does not have the risk tolerance to put all his assets into crypto. If you’re 19, sure, because you have a long time horizon. I hope this works out for you but this is horrible advise
@@Seanc34911 thank you for watching.
People please don’t listen to any of this nonsense.
Have to disagree. I'm almost 50 and have invested in a broad range of index funds and other mutual funds for over 25 years. There have been major swings in the market, but despite the ups and downs I have a large net worth that I otherwise wouldn't have. Truth is investing for retirement takes time, patience, consistency, and most importantly discipline. Stay the course which is something fewer and fewer people can do these days.
Stop worrying about your wife’s 401k and it’s supposed to go untouched until retirement age.
Hi sir, good job getting convicted in crypto. It is way better than the traditional markets. BUT, please learn crypto security first. Most importantly. Learn everything about it befote putting in any substantial amount. And above all, learn the bitcoin 4 year cycles. That is the goldest of the golden egg that will make you money. Cheers

Crypto isnt investing, it's gambling. Youre gambling your retirement, good luck.
@@AaronRussell-k9k morning that’s what I thought until I learned about it. Thank you for watching.
That's what I've also understood about crypto. Folks who don't quite comprehend the idea of supply/demand/price levels jump onto crypto like it's the new thing that would revolutionize currency. In reality, it's a digital asset whose value is based on supply and demand. Once regulated by the government (and they certainly can) it loses its value. Its value is also based on its exclusive nature: despite its selling point as an example of decentralized currency, it's still dependent on the mainstream currencies and it is not very fluid. Most folks don't have access to it.
@@grounded-beef Charlie munger called it crypto s***. If you think you're smarter than Charlie Munger, probably one the greatest investing minds on the planet, you're not. The thing I honestly don't get, is when you can invest in the best companies in the world, that produce real tangible assets, why do people invest in digital "gold". The thing I find funniest, is people all say the same thing about how they "learned" about crypto, yet none of them can explain it.
@@AaronRussell-k9k Charlie Munger thought See's Candies was amazing and drank Coke out of plastic bottles until the day he passed. He had his bright moments for sure, but feel free to apply the thinking of him and Buffett to emerging technologies at your own peril.
@@crimesguy he lived into his late 90's what is your point? How billions do you have?
1. The stock market, which most 401K funds follow, goes up or down every year. 2. 401k is designed to NOT be touched until you retire. Not middle aged. 3. The S&P500 goes up every year by on average 10%. If you defer 10% of your salary into your 401k over 30 years and invest in a s&p500 fund, you’ll retire a millionaire. 4. Hardship withdrawals and loans from your 401k allow for people to access the funds prior to 59.5 5. 401k has ERISA protection from bankruptcy. Most investments do not have protection from bankruptcy 6. You don’t have to pay capital gains on dividends allowing money to compound
You made bad investing decisions and you’re giving bad investment advice. You don’t seem to understand pre-tax benefits. Calling 401K a Ponzi scheme while investing all your money in crypto which you admit you just learned about. Bro. Please stop.
I’m honestly concerned for you. If you think the market will crash and you’re this close to retirement, the 403B should be 90% invested in bonds anyway. You’re looking at one year performance in crypto (which is extremely volatile) and immediately trying to get at your wife’s account. It’s worrying and how people end up ruined.

@@ryanl3812 straight up
At this point I'm thinking this has to be satire, this dude is making all of the worst financial decisions and recording himself doing them. Then he'll be a burden on his kids because he will not have any money for retirement.
You can read this, or don’t, but I don’t want to see you get burnt so I think it’s worth reading. This is wildly concerning to hear. You want to cash out or rollover a retirement account to put it into crypto? You’re speculating, you’re not investing. Go read the intelligent investor and security analysis. You have a gamblers mindset on this. You’re blinded by the exploding crypto market, and you’re ignoring all the risk of being in that space. You’re also timing the market rather than having time in! What happens if it’s banned in the US, which is being discussed right now? What if it goes to zero? If you’re concerned about the 2% (of what you put in) and 20% (of what you gained) fees that people often pay by investing their money in a traditional retirement accounts, just do your own IRA and invest in mutual funds and index funds. With those, you’re not investing in one stock. That’s protection you don’t have with crypto. One stock can fail, but all the others will shield you from that loss. You’re investing in a bundle of stocks, or the stock market as a whole when you invest in index or mutual funds. The fees are typically never more than 2%. The historic average return of the stock market over time has been about 9.8% year over year. If you look at the rule of 72, you would see that that means that the market doubles roughly every 7.35 years. The rule of 72 being 72/ annual interest rates 72/9.8. The goal is to have as many shares as possible. The value of your account is defined by share price x number or shares. So even when the market is down, yeah, it sucks because you’re seeing value lost when you look at your account. What you’re not seeing is that when stock prices drop from $500 a share, to $350 a share, and you’re investing let’s say $700 a week, now all of a sudden you’re buying two shares a week rather than 1.4 shares. Another thing to recognize is that if you had just invested $175 a week from age 22-65 you would have $6,134,251.28 to retire on at 65 years old. On a 4% withdrawal rate, that’s $245,370.05 a year you could retire and live on. Stop playing these games of trying to time the market. Don’t cash out an account, pay taxes and fees just to buy back in later and ignore the part where if you stayed in it would’ve cost you less to just have stayed in. Just invest often, dollar cost average (put money in every single day so you buy the average of the market, not the top of the market, but not the bottom either). Stop getting emotional about one where the greatest return is while ignoring risk. Mutual funds or index funds over a long period of time, invested regularly is the most proven way to get where you want to be. Also, you should understand what inflation really means. It’s designed to be 3% a year by the fed! In other words, the fed plans for the dollar to be worth 3% less, year over year. $100 today is $97 next year, then $94.09, then $91.27, $88.52 then $85.87 etc. so in 5 years, your dollar is worth $14.13 less! Or 14.13%.

I hear where you’re coming from and I both agree and disagree. I know this is long but please take the time to read it all. After several years of trying I convinced Mrs Failure to get a 403b at her work, about 20 years ago or more. This has to be one of the worst programs out there. I kept asking her what choices she had as to how she invested the money and she kept telling me she didn’t know. Mrs Failure doesn’t nerd out on this the same way I do. Finally, several years later, she tells me that a representative is coming to the school and would be available to answer questions. I had her schedule a meeting and made sure I was there. The guy didn’t have a thing to tell me or show me regarding the investments and couldn’t even tell me what the performance was. He didn’t know anything. We stopped contributing and tried to get out of it and found out we couldn’t as long as she worked there. Meanwhile, I had three 401k’s from different jobs. I was able to choose which mutual funds I was invested in along with a couple of other options. At the time I was getting an average return of about 12% while hers was about 1%. Over the years I rolled the 401k’s into IRA’s with two different companies and, except for 2008, they continued doing well. The first few years that I was farming full time my tax preparer was trying to convince me to contribute to an IRA. I finally convinced her that I was getting a better return by investing in myself than I would ever get in the market and I already had enough in there anyway. This all turned out to be true. Mrs Failure finally changed jobs and I got her to roll the 403b into an IRA with one of the companies that I was using. After years of her contributions and a few more years of it sitting there doing nothing she had something like $15k. In 4-5 years it had doubled. Now it’s about $70k. All of these years later we collectively have a significant amount of money in our accounts and I’m not one bit sorry that we did it. Here’s what I think you should do. Put it completely out of your mind until she leaves the school. The minute that she does, find yourself a local financial advisor that you can meet with face to face. Have him roll the 403b into an IRA and tell him the type of things that you want it invested in. Don’t pull the money out and definitely don’t pay any penalty. Leave it there and draw it out in your seventies when you aren’t able to work anymore. You’ll be glad you did when the time comes.
Great advice brother!

@@BeeHiveNY which part? Because honestly, it scares me that people this age would gamble their retirement on crypto?
I would add that often the most important lessons we learn are from our failures . . . and sharing those with our children can help them avoid making the same mistake in the future!
Home economics was phased out in the '60's and '70's . . . but it used to include budget planning and balancing a checkbook, planning menus, etc. . . . I believe it should be returned, perhaps under a different name like Household Management, so children could learn about financial planning, budgeting, compound interest and so on.
@@Epona52 morning I agree 100% thank you so much for watching!
You are absolutely doing the right thing with your kids. You never said how old the younger two are though? My parents really never gave me any numbers for their businesses at first. I was old enough to realize that they were struggling trying to make money farming and that there were some really hard times where we barely had food. Later on, when they started their last business, I was in high school and helped them count the money every evening. They still didn’t share what the expenses were but I had a rough idea how much they were making from it. As it became wildly successful I had a front row seat for most of it. My own boys were in high school when I started farming on my own. I didn’t get into the weeds with them on the money either but they certainly knew it was a struggle, how much hard work it was, and that sacrifices were made. They knew that not all crops made money and they also were right there for the wins. They are both doing great today completely on their own. In about five years they will be in their late thirties and I plan on making them the managers of my passive income streams where they can see how everything works. I plan on encouraging and incentivizing them to start their own along side of me so that I can better teach them. I could start now but I want to see them figure a few things out on their own first, I think it will mean more to them that way. I also have a couple of plays left in the game that I want to do first.
