Great conversation on how to enhance home life in the church
Thanks for tuning in, Michael! What are some of your traditions?
I always wonder, is this when Ethiopia adopted Christianity?
And the safe that connects all of which you spoke of in the beginning of your video, all relates to God’s promise to his people, and that is what they had faith in. It was a blind faith in healing and redemption being mutually sent and received. And it was a faith rooted in the actual belief the people were worthy to receive Gods grace, despite the church and its rulers claiming these were in lawful and unholy. Teachers of the law must be very careful when speaking on behalf of Gods good and his promises. Cuz then again, Jesus does say explicitly for no man to call themselves teacher or father for there is only one who holds this title and is in heaven. This is why the church was destroyed both in the Moses story and in Jesus’. We were never meant to stay behind the walls man has built, as they are always always meant to fall. And we were meant to fall (lose mans version of you that you are following and find new life outside the walls in his name. This what Jesus meant when he said new wine into new wine skins. Matthew 10 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Regardless of all this, these comments are strictly meant as thought exercises for you as you continue to grow your channel and also to provide engagement for you as I appreciate you attempting to show what God’s word means to you❤
To me, when reading the biblical stories of Moses, I wouldn’t quite agree the people led by Moses weren’t admitted to the promise land due to lack of faith. Rather, I see the reason being because of the people putting their faith into the wrong things, which ultimately Moses was most to blame. A great flaw of Moses is that he had no faith in showing God and his spirit to his people, and rather chose to act as a middle man throughout the entire entirety of the desert. We see this come to be when Moses disobeys God's command at Meribah, where he struck a rock instead of speaking to it to produce water for the Israelites. As a result, the people feared to enter the Promised Land, and God condemned the entire generation of adults, including Moses, to die in the wilderness. It wasn’t the fault of the people, but Moses not wanting to cease his rule just as Pharroh before him. And the result of this meant his people were never truly shown a relationship with God, but rather a relationship with a ruler. Luckily, our redeeming God would only leave behind the adults, and Moses to atone for Moses’s pride, but God did not destroy the generation that came after who were delivered to the promised land. Allowing Gods people to see his promise.
Jesus also make this clear once again in Matthew 13:5-6 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Jesus says that the seed on rocky ground is like someone who hears the message and is immediately glad to hear it. But loses it flame quickly and is burned by the sun because its root was in the rock (church) not on good soil. We also see the next generation being redeemed in Matthew 13: 8-9 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop--a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 He who has ears, let him hear." If you can, you must be very careful when we are preaching to the world about what it means to have faith. It’s actually more of a question of what to put our faith into. Although Jesus says building your home (faith) on the rock (church), it will not fall, Jesus tells the reality of the seeds (children) of God’s people if the continue to find their faith in the rock (church/“teachers”/“fathers”. So to conclude, this is not just a simple battle of showing faith, but rather what we put our faith into, and if the basis of that faith exists in only the rock(Peter). You will always be leading God’s people and yourself into destruction.
Hebrews 3:19 says “And we see that they could not enter for lack of faith.” I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and concerns.
I found you through Keith Nester; I love your story and you have gained a subscriber. I love what you're doing man

Sometimes we are the paralytic, who requires the help of our friends to bring us to Christ. The rest of the time we should commit to being one of those friends

"By His stripes we are healed". Thank you my beautiful, loving Jesus
How do today’s readings speak to you?
Brandon--I'm struck how Mark's description of the onset of Christ's Galilean ministry mirrors the Lord's dissatisfaction with Israel in Psalm 95. Jesus was focused on teaching with authority (Mk 1:22), silencing demons so his growing following would not be deceived by their lies but instead take in His teaching (Mk 1:34), communion with the Lord (Mk 1:35), preaching in the synagogues (Mk 1:39), and telling the healed leper not to further incite the public with tales of His physical miracles, but instead to go to the religious leaders so they may verify the healing of his leprosy (Mk 1:44), although the provisions of Lev 14 had never been needed, because no man can cure leprosy. But the Galileans were captivated by the physical manifestations of Christ's divinity--the healing, casting of of demons--and not the core of His message; namely that He was the Messiah. Like the Hebrews in an earlier day, who heard the Lord's voice and saw His miraculous works, but as soon as things went the slightest bit wrong, they rebelled, again and again. In Moses' time, in Christ's time and in our time, we often follow the Lord in merely superficial ways, hoping for earthly benefits without truly knowing Him
Wow, that is deeply profound and so so good thank you so much for sharing that with us
This was a timely message - thank you.
Glad to hear that. God bless you and thanks for being here.
thanks again
Good to see you this morning!
Amen! Jesus became one of us!
Freedom! In today's Gospel reading the people of Capernaum seek out Jesus to free them from their illnesses and demons. But as the author of the epistle reminds us, these physical miracles are much less significant and long-lasting than the freedom He can grant us from the slavery of the fear of death, and death itself, if only we repent and believe the Gospel. Thank you for this morning's meditation Brandon. Hope you and everyone in this community has a blessed day!!
@@QuintinKendall-q2q love the point you made about freedom over the fear of death! So good!

Amen! He is always speaking His Word of Life to us!
In my experience, depression is often the result of anger that has been repeatedly stuffed down/ignored. Once one can physically release that anger, the depression often lifts. God has designed us to feel and express our emotions in appropriate ways.
@@allanweilert7185 couldn't agree more! That's been my experience too
Thank you. I appreciate you being here !
Always!
"We must place our Trust in JESUS" Early Christian's never had all the material comforts we behold today like access to our own bible's, churches, and internet, Catechisms. In the past they did so in the underground and as generations passed it was still by Faith and Trust in Jesus. In countries were Christians are persecuted today that's all they have trust in Jesus. Elite athletes give their praise to Jesus. Quarterbacks and Messi the greatest soccer player of all time after every goal gives praise to Jesus because they know they put their trust in Jesus and so their talent flourishes. Thus giving example to the world of "Put your Trust in Jesus"
Amen!!
What a beautiful opening to such a challenging and rewarding epistle. A perfect way to start ordinary time, especially for me, who needs to take the “next step” in my walk. Looking forward to sharing it with you brother….thank you for providing this forum

Let choose the right way.a man goes in a forest and cuts a tree down, and makes from it a table and chairs, with the chipping's he makes a fire, warm himself and cook's his dinner.with the root stock he caves a woman, paints a bule and white dress, paints her mouth, eyes and ears, think of a name from the old testament a demonic name other than Yahweh, and then dispite God's waning placese the lump of timber in an alcove he has made for it, and at the end of the day with the same peace of painted timber he carved from the wood's he bows down to it, light's a candle to it and prays to it, calling it the queen of heaven. In the holy bible this story in the old testament,is called "The foolishness of idols.

What a wonderful verse! Thank you so much for sharing it and for being part of our community every day!
Eternal life is available for me if I choose to follow God’s commandments. Free will - I have choices to make each and every day, these choices will determine how soon after I die that I will see God face to face. Purgatory - if I’m lucky enough to make it there I surely hope and pray someone who is left behind will pray for my soul and offer masses so I can be released from this place sooner rather than later and then enter into the Glory of God. Fr Mark Goring prays to have / suffer his Purgatory daily here on earth, so when he dies he will immediately be with the Lord, interesting idea! My choices help determine my destiny!
Please, pray that I find a job, and that my children remain in the faith. God bless.
🙏
Thank you for this reflection

Amen. I was reading Tom Hughes' most recent book and there was a passage that said "It's usually the small things in our lives that try our patience and not momentous catastrophes that test our love for God." That is true to an extent, especially as a discussion point in a Catholic men's book club context--we are all overloaded daily by All the Small Things, and how we respond says a lot about where we are with God generally, and at that certain time in life. But momentous catastrophes--"storms"--are real, as you know, and their impacts on our lives can be large and lasting, and not simply momentary annoyances that have little to no bearing on us and our families. Love you, brother
Well said brother. Thank you for sharing this. Love you brother!!
Thank you for this reflection.
Its a wonderful honor. Thank you for being here! 😊
Jesus miracle of feeding the 5000 is an increible mathematical Ratio miracle, its scaled by his example of how his word and body can and will feed the entire world. All the world is welcomed to the feast no RSVP needed. Blessings Brandon

“Come away by yourselves to a lonely place, and rest awhile.” indeed. For Christ, in His love for us, there is no rest, for our need for His love is endless. And to truly serve Him in apostolic action, we too must forego rest when we are needed Thank you for this Brandon; have a great day and stay warm
You too brother!
Millions of books have been written about how to be confident and success in life. But people should realize the only real book they need is The Bible to find that confidence in our daily lives. Blessings have a great day
