    How do you push the piston down when it is STUCK in the out/up position? No amount of pushing moves the rod back inside the cylinder.

    Gas springs from STABILUS INOX, usually sold by Attwood, have retainer clips in the heads that can come out and get lost. Stabilus does not supply replacements! These are the clips that you must compress using needle-nose plyers in order to remove the spring from the nub. Very irritating when you've lost the darn clip!

    This is wrong in so many ways , both shock struts should have equal pressure , you can’t know when releasing pressure how much you are taking out ! If you take out to much pressure the new strut is no better than the old one you replaced ! I’ll look elsewhere for a better answer !

    • @alanbrant9128

      I agree, this should be done with a gauge where you can see the exact pressure released. especially if you have two or more that work together.

    Hi anyone having trouble with hydraulics on a bed, you don't have to reduce the gas in them. All you have to do is with the mattress on the bed, have a person one either side of the bed and push the bed down from the middle. Do that 2 or 3 times then you can do it from the bottom on your own. I hope this helps

    pressure is not measured in Newtons. Force is meansured in Newtons. Pressure is measured in Newtons per square metre, Bar or psi. It does not fill me with confidence when someone provides such a basic technical mistake.

    • @PrestonGladd

      I see your point, but most of the people watching this, like me, dont care about that, they only want to see how to release pressure.

    • @Graham_Wideman
      @Graham_Wideman 3 роки тому

      Kevin -- I had exactly the same thought. And even if it is N/m^2, who in the US would have a sense for how much pressure that is? FWIW, 1100 N/m^2 is 0.16 psi, or 0.01 atm. So clearly it wasn't N/m^2. Maybe N/mm^2? That would be 159,000 psi, or 10,856 atm. Which seems implausibly high. I believe a reasonable pressure would be around 100 to 200 atm, so I'm not sure how that relates to 1100 somethings. Maybe he meant that the _force_ of the spring was 1100 N (about 250 lb).

    • @jacobacostamasterscribe2200

      He was probably referring to the force acting against the axis. Normally that’s how gas rods are rated; their pushing force since that’s the pertinent measure

Got one thats 200lbs and is way too much but im skert to stick a drill down the middle of the threads.. afraid the drill bits gonna wind up inside my eyeball or a lung or something.. would it explode or just like a quick small fart? Or would it just poot out slowly if drilled? Cuz id like to put a schrader valve up in and say screw those fancy valves yall put on em.. schrader valves are rated in the thousands and wont leak.. dunno why commpanies dont use em in the first place, its not like your hiding your special blend of 11 herbs and spices up in.. or are ya? Got the gas of life in em.. or death? Eh, ill chuck it to the neighbors dog for a bit, if it comes back with summer teeth than ill know not to fuks with em...
