Hi bro
How do you push the piston down when it is STUCK in the out/up position? No amount of pushing moves the rod back inside the cylinder.
Gas springs from STABILUS INOX, usually sold by Attwood, have retainer clips in the heads that can come out and get lost. Stabilus does not supply replacements! These are the clips that you must compress using needle-nose plyers in order to remove the spring from the nub. Very irritating when you've lost the darn clip!
how do the dampers work?
😄😄😃
how do you increase the pressure though?
By sending it back to them and have it properly refilled with gas.
👌👌
Please I have a similar gas spring but it's without a provision for releasing the nitrogen , how do I go about it? Thanks
Did you find a solution?
@@techfortwo120 I have the same problem! I don’t have one of those twist things
Good day, I have an eyelet gas strut that has no provision for reducing the gas pressure. Pls can u help me with the best idea on how to go about it? Thanks
Dude looks like the guy from Gremlins
This is so early 90s, wow!
damn I got the china ones that dont do that
You can get the similar linear actuators from ANTUATOR.
how does it go down?
Good tips to release pressure and thanks for the safety advice.
♥.♥ Nice Mechanism Idea "Damper".
not a very precise or easy to control process...with zero margin for error on the low side of the pressure adjustment
This is wrong in so many ways , both shock struts should have equal pressure , you can’t know when releasing pressure how much you are taking out ! If you take out to much pressure the new strut is no better than the old one you replaced ! I’ll look elsewhere for a better answer !
I agree, this should be done with a gauge where you can see the exact pressure released. especially if you have two or more that work together.
Hi anyone having trouble with hydraulics on a bed, you don't have to reduce the gas in them. All you have to do is with the mattress on the bed, have a person one either side of the bed and push the bed down from the middle. Do that 2 or 3 times then you can do it from the bottom on your own. I hope this helps
I have the same problem, one rod works well and the other one is completely stuck. I took off the ending but I couldn't see that valve, but instead I have a normal bold that the ending screw into. What should i do to release some gas so it's not stuck anymore ?

pressure is not measured in Newtons. Force is meansured in Newtons. Pressure is measured in Newtons per square metre, Bar or psi. It does not fill me with confidence when someone provides such a basic technical mistake.
I see your point, but most of the people watching this, like me, dont care about that, they only want to see how to release pressure.
Kevin -- I had exactly the same thought. And even if it is N/m^2, who in the US would have a sense for how much pressure that is? FWIW, 1100 N/m^2 is 0.16 psi, or 0.01 atm. So clearly it wasn't N/m^2. Maybe N/mm^2? That would be 159,000 psi, or 10,856 atm. Which seems implausibly high. I believe a reasonable pressure would be around 100 to 200 atm, so I'm not sure how that relates to 1100 somethings. Maybe he meant that the _force_ of the spring was 1100 N (about 250 lb).
He was probably referring to the force acting against the axis. Normally that’s how gas rods are rated; their pushing force since that’s the pertinent measure
And he is an “aerospace engineer” - yet makes such a basic mistake
hilarious that this is 10 years old and still the best how to video on this

Can I use a gas spring hydraulic for a robot and also is there a gas spring that lifts 100- 1000 pounds
Is this Kind of gas springs rechargeable?🤔
i got a new gas strut but slams my trailer lid on the last 5" from the close position 320 by180N trailer lid is 600mm long and weighs 11kg
Where can I get the release tool?
you can use any small piece to work it. such gas spring not popular, function is good, but no market, waste material.
So what if theres no hole? Got one thats 200lbs and is way too much but im skert to stick a drill down the middle of the threads.. afraid the drill bits gonna wind up inside my eyeball or a lung or something.. would it explode or just like a quick small fart? Or would it just poot out slowly if drilled? Cuz id like to put a schrader valve up in and say screw those fancy valves yall put on em.. schrader valves are rated in the thousands and wont leak.. dunno why commpanies dont use em in the first place, its not like your hiding your special blend of 11 herbs and spices up in.. or are ya? Got the gas of life in em.. or death? Eh, ill chuck it to the neighbors dog for a bit, if it comes back with summer teeth than ill know not to fuks with em...
Tits..
😂 If there is a hole there, which most don't have, it's likely just a ball-check for charging at manufacturing. Just see if you can (very) briefly whack it with a pin + suitably weighted "hammer".
Awesome!!
any way to make it faster
@Reno Simpson ha funny if only ya i just through it away
How do you make or where would you buy a frame for a sit and stand desk that you could then install this into it? And is there a lift hand option for the button?
will it stays in extended position even when we apply external pressure?
Ctthb.
Hi I need to buy one is 10 1/2 each Long I leave in ny ????
Where do I buy the two gas spring system ? And can I mount it under my desk to make it sit and sat desk ?
correct
background music is so good
Great but where do you get he tool?
The tool is probably more expensive than a new gas spring?
yeah,,now how does it goes back down again????
If I am not mistaken, you have to apply a reaction force to do that. Meaning, you have to push the piston back in.
correct
how about adding pressure they stop working after about 6 months and have to start propping up everything there suppose to be holding up like hoods and hatches never seen a strut I had to bleed pressure off of
exactly my problem ! any solution?
Checked in here to write exactly the same comment!
6 months! There are many around the place that last for _years_! Look at cars' bonnet and boot lifts. They must be leaky, crappy gas lifts that you have.
Junk
I have the opposite problem, my struts I bought don't even compress with my full body weight.
nice slacks
High integrated post on Gas Springs
is there a tool that allows you to see the current pressure value and bleed off pressure at the same time?
You don't have to bleed the hydraulics you just have to have the mattress on the bed and one person either side of the bed and push down in the middle of the bed, do it 2 or 3 times then you will be able to do it from the bottom yourself
@@caroleburrell3040 ???
@@caroleburrell3040 Another option is to just make sure you bring a towel and twist it 960 degrees on each end. Wet it, and release 4 feet. Twice.
How does it go down?!
sir, have you got your answer?
With these hydraulic dampers from Bansbach easylift®, the speed in both the push-in and push-out direction can be adjusted precisely. The speed is controlled in both directions and the damping intensity can be adjusted by turning the piston rod. GREAT!!!
yo diggity-dawg this is awesome i wanna buy a few of these how much
