With the L69 carbureted HO and a 5 speed manual box - flying machine. With the LB9 injected engine, slug. Either mated with the autobox - slug. Clue - L69 was high comp, high-flow inlet and exhaust, Corvette cam and rev'd to 6,000. That made it perfect with the manual, whereas the LB9 was less powerful and ran out of revs. (both quoted at 190hp at same rpm, 4,700 I think which was the LB9 redline, but the L69 was just getting going). I had a 1984 Recaro Edition with WS6, L69 and 5 speed and ye gods I wish I still had it.
