Rotary Club of Bangkok Foundation Launches “Healthy Now, Healthy Always” Campaign and Raise Funds for Vital Medical Assistance in Thailand
Under the “Healthy Now, Healthy Always” initiative, the Rotary Club of Bangkok and its Foundation are targeting over THB 2.7 million in crowdfunding donations, which will be used to support three important medical causes: to provide corrective surgeries for children with cleft palates and other facial deformities; to purchase life-supporting kidney dialysis machines for those in need; and to alleviate the shortage of registered nurses in Thailand.
Donations can be made via RotaryNewHope.org, and corporate sponsor B. Grimm will match every contribution baht-for-baht, for donations up to THB 490,000.
Approximately 2,000 babies are born with a cleft lip or palate each year in Thailand, and the crowdfunding aims to provide 180 children with transformative surgery. In rural Phetchaburi province, more than 5,500 patients are in need of life-saving dialysis treatment; the Rotary Club has pledged to provide two hemodialysis machines that will help 450 patients with end-stage kidney disease. Finally, the Rotary Nursing Scholarships will provide financial aid to nursing students in economic hardship, helping them to complete their studies and enter the workplace.
