    This video is so spot on. Currently I've lost £5 grand with a dealer who went bust whilst building a rifle for me. If only the AT was around when I ordered it I would have bought one then. I now have an AT and it brings a smile to my face every time I shoot it.

      @@davidphin1063 Yeah, I got a folder version. Last saturday got to test a friends ax at a prs comp and it really impressed me and I would seriously consider one. But in Finland, the basic trg costs half of an ax so the trg is a nobrainer, but trg a1 versus the ax mc, Id be bery tempted to go for the ax at the same pricepoint. Mostly since the ax offers the caliber conversion. Trg trigger imo is superior, but the ax is damn close.

    Had to watch this twice. AI should have this video as an advertisement, an excellent production you created. Clearly I can tell that you didn’t borrow this rifle and just make up the articulate and accurate, no pun intended, description in the beauty of an AI. Your passion is felt by many owners and snipers from around the world. I am 65 and I have shot long range since I was 14...you can pick on this or that...trigger pull...single vs two stage...etc. But, hands down there is no more VERSATILE and DURABLE precision rifle in the world. And the factory support in the US is unlike any other firearm sold in the US. Need a new barrel? Literally can have one overnighted and a two minute install and you up and running. At 65 years old, time means something to me! PS: probably the most common misconception by inexperienced, especially if they don’t have a strong military weapons background, about the AI is their two stage trigger. Very very few sniper rifles used professionally are single stage, and for many good reasons. I shot most my life with single stage and one pound pull, long range target and varmint shooting. Many years ago I switched to two stage and went to 3-3.5 pounds like so many real pros use, not the bench rest folks. It took me awhile but it was like an awakening...my groups became so much more consistent. Single stage is easy to pull with little skill but actually harder to master than two stage for most. I have never used a 2 stage like AI’s before. It’s very strange at first but after about a hundred test fires and adjusting the pull to your finger length, oh my god no more lazy trigger slapping, jerking or premature discharges. If you ever shot a lot of bows, it has that feel when you have loaded the bow and locked in before the release. Again, amazing vid !

    I bought an AIAX in February, 2018. I still do not have a properly working rifle. After eventually getting them to admit that they manufactured the optics rail out of spec (check yours, I bet yours is out of spec, too - I actually flew to Denver to check out Mile High's inventory and all of the AX platform optics rails were out of spec. . . . the ATs were fine. That, and the 6.5 CM barrel I ordered won't shoot better than about 0.7MOA (the .308 barrel it came with is much better). My recommendation? Buy a Sako TRG. I have a $7,000 rifle that has cost me over $7,000 in my time dealing with AI's manufacturing errors.

    • @schoocg
      @schoocg 6 років тому

      lytening79 what do you mean the rail is out of spec , MOA offset type stuff ? I have had mine for a year in 308 and 6.5. It is so accurate and precise it crazy. Of course I had to work my loads up to that. But I have to say factory 308 Hornady Black and 6.5 Hornady 140 gr ELD Match is sick accurate in my AI too.

    • @runflydive702
      @runflydive702 6 років тому

      schoocg No, I mean dimensionally. It does not conform to STANAG or MIL-STD 1913, so not all mounts will fit. They gave me a really, really hard time about it, but eventually confirmed it in writing after having a sample set of 9 of their own rails sent off for CMM testing. My .308 barrel is precise, but the 6.5CM barrel is garbage.

    • @schoocg
      @schoocg 6 років тому

      RunFlyDive , now that really sucks. I have used a couple of mounts on my AI but my go to and favorite is a Geissele Super Precision. They all fit perfect on the AI rail. I wonder if there was a lot that was off? I did have a CADEX too but sold the CADEX. The Cadex I had to shave between the rails to get the Super Precision to go on. No big deal but kind of, WTF:-) I never could get the Cadex to shoot to my liking and after tons of lots of reloading and testing I gave up. It shot ok but not the Precision I was expecting and saw others achieving. Some times no matter how good they are you run across disappointing results. My 308 AI ran circles around my Cadex 308. But unlike you, my 6.5CM is pure sex. Sorry for the metaphor but you can’t stop shooting it.

      Massively digging up an old post, really hope you got your issues sorted. I bought my first rifle at the beginning of this month, I had it a week before shipping it back to manufacturer (A.I.) as the optics rails was visibly canted to the right and the barrel was out of line of the rails by 0.5mm over its 26in length.

      See my comment above . . . I was over the moon when I ordered my AI, but was crushed when I took delivery. It's been nothing but a disappointment and a hassle. I'd recommend a Sako TRG. If you MUST have a chassis, buy a TRG and then put it in a KRG chassis. But, even as a Chassis guy, I strongly prefer the TRG's ergonomics. And the TRG trigger makes the AI seem like a nerf gun.

    Thanks for the discussion. I purchased a Rattler with the stabilizing brace last month. Had the opportunity to take it to the range last Saturday. This was my first exposure to Sig Sauer products and I have to say I had a bit of apprehension given the recent furor around QC with certain product lines. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when It functioned 100% with a mix of close to 200rds of Armscor & S&B ammunition. Since this is a new caliber for me I'm going to be investing in dies and the remaining equipment I need to repurpose 5.56 brass for use as 300blk. (It's a bit on the pricey side with OEM ammo offerings) Accuracy and felt recoil was better than expected. I do plan to purchase a can once my wallet recovers from the price of the pistol :) I chose a Romeo 5x (AAA Battery) for sight system since most of my other red dots seem absolutely giant in comparison to modern red dots. FWIW, I have both the Magpul K grip the pistol shipped with and the Sig original design rattler pistol grip. Prefer the Sig pistol grip and when combined with a 20rd Lancer mag it just makes the gun look much more svelte. The only issue I had was with the SB Tactical brace which came loose after the first 30 rounds. I went to change the position of the brace and noticed it was tight. After a few palm smacks it did move but left some unsightly scratches in the coating on the upper brace grooves. No biggie, grabbed a torx, re-positioned it and tightened it down.

    Charles, prior to my time in the corps, and at FAST the MP5 was the primary for CQB due to the various close quarters mission profiles they (the company) was stood up for. Vessels may have been too broad of a description rather than “navel assets”. Once the mission of the company changed the primaries did change to the M4. As I arrived, the CQB class on deck changed primaries in the middle of the course. We appreciate you listening and commenting.

    So the Marines of Fast company deferred to MP5’s in the off chance you needed to secure a nuclear naval powered vessel? What kind of hat garbage are you spouting homie?!? It’s comments like that which makes you immediately lose credibility with your target audience. Fact! The only nuclear powered vessels are US Naval Aircraft Cartier and US Nava submarines and Frances only aircraft carrier. Nuclear powered merchant ships have not need developed. Come on man! 👎
