Переглядів 18 тис.4 роки тому
A day of surfing behind a Tasmanian Island. Wedge. The wedge is a Tassie wave that breaks hardly ever, but when it does, it's one of the best beach breaks in Tasmania. This was one session, filmed in October 2019 the day just got better and better. All the local crew was there, Marti Paradisis, Renno, Matt Kennedy, and more. Music: IDRIS ACKAMOOR A. @@christianbach627 hey. Sorry mate but you wont find a shaping machine here in Tas. All handshapes and pre-cuts from the mainland.

So is that just a standard A-frame slab reef... Or is there some kind of reflection effect, adding to the wedgie shape that we see in the video? I don't see a Jetty or anything obvious to create a reflecting wave... if there is a reflection, what causes it?

Hi mate. There is an Island pictured in front of the beach. The swell wraps around the island causing wedges on the opposite side. Those waves travel across the gap and hit the beach stretching for about 400 meters. It's kind of like having multiple swells hit the same beach.

@@aquivasurf4744 Nice. Thanks for the info. Looks like Tazmania should be infectous - were it not for the frigid water and remote location. It definitely seems to be "holding".
