Dr. Jordan Pederson supreme Court desicion paraphrasing here your charter rights and freedoms were stepped on BUT... So they are no longer powerful.
Canada's biggest democratic deficits are the Executive branch embedded in the Legistative branch, and Charter sections 1 and 33. PMO has too much power.
Constitution and Charter of 1982 was a small victory. However Charter sections 1, 15 and 33 and undemocratic and should be scraped.
We saw PM Trudeau unjustifiably, per Federal Courts, invoke the Emergencies Act without Parliamentary approval then issue OICs that violated the Charter, per Federal Courts. The PMO has too much power in Canada.
We now know the charter means nothing , it is a fraud, a joke. Canada is no better than N.Korea.
What is happening here crimes against humanity in breaches of 53 nuremberg on Jackson resolution on issues of consent in medical malpractice mental health act on denial of human rights sound like your just masturbating on how wonderful something like redress in courts of law that no one can afford more than 2 million people have no GP or more in Canada and how many homeless impoverished so you can let immigrate and push multiculturalism at denial of necessities of life to Canadian people's...
Can't get past that ugly comb-over on Leveque
It is freedom of "peaceful" assembly. It is modified. Don't ever call it freedom of assembly...that's a mob
It appears that the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms are about good and strong as the paper they are written on. It's the good people of Canada that must unite and stand up for all of our rights and freedoms..! United We Stand..!
Renee would be one of the best prime ministers that Canada ever had. The charter of rights and freedoms was fought for by the people. And if Trudeau's father did support it trudeau fell a long ways from his father.
really? how far was rene from the current quebec government? racist enough, or not enough?
@Saajid Daya you don't even know what racism is Define racism ? Can a negro be racist to a Caucasian? On top of it give me one thing that was racist just one ?
@Saajid Daya if you're still stuck on racism you need to go and get help from a psychologist. You need to move forward in life stop beating yourself up and staying stuck with some belief.
@@saajiddaya2152 you know that there's a lot of Caucasian men that would love to be with negro women. Even Caucasian women would love to be with negro men so I don't know what you're talkin about. Can Negroes say the same about Caucasians because Caucasians don't have a problem with Negroes. I literally watched the video of negroes saying that Caucasian people only want them for their ability to be able to protect themselves from the Sun naturally now that would be racist. And it's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. These negro women are even saying that Caucasian people need them to survive for the future as if there's no such thing as sunscreen. Wake up
@@bobboby2400 what? No all I was saying was that because of all that's going on in Quebec rn, I'm a bit skeptical of whether or not he would've been a good pm. Granted, I wouldn't have been born for another 20 years, but these are just my opinions. Sorry if I worded it wrong 😅
Offering the minority assisted suicide because their struggling is not making things fair. Not to mention offering that to veterans as well. All democracy is showing is that they are disrespecting people's rights and the fact that they are turning into a dictatorship instead of following proper protocol
The charter of rights and freedoms comes before democracy because it ensures that the democracy stays democratic and fair as well as equal.

#1 - The Charter is the problem Section 1 - Canadian Charter Section 1 - government can limit all freedoms and rights - The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society. Amendment I - US Constitution - no limits on free speech Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Like the US Constitution, we had no limits on our God given freedoms and rights before the Charter, other than you couldn’t slander anyone (say lies about people), you couldn’t libel anyone (write lies about people) or call for the death/murder of someone. Section 1 gives total power over our rights and freedoms to the government without any limits or restrictions. It’s just whatever the current government thinks is an emergency. Despite what Brian Peckford wants to believe, that is exactly what the Charter says. Section 1 is known as the reasonable limits clause or limitations clause, because it legally allows the government to limit an individual's rights and freedoms without specifically stating what those extreme situations would be. Therefore, whoever is in power gets to interpret this in any way they want and it is legally binding because that is what this poorly written document says. Before the Charter, we elected politicians who represented us in parliament, they voted accordingly, parliament made laws according to what the people wanted, and the judges upheld the law. Because of the Charter, it doesn’t matter what Canadians want, unelected judges now make the laws according to how they interpret the Charter. The Charter also kicked God and our Christian worldview foundation out, stripped Canadians of property rights; and put our mentally ill out on the streets. This document was not created to uphold Canadian values, ethics, morals or culture and strengthen our nation, but to create chaos, destroy us and make way for communism and the NWO. Pierre Trudeau got exactly what he wanted in this charter, Brian Peckford got snookered, and Canadians got screwed.
Reasonable limits are fine, it's the notwithstanding clause that is the problem.
yes the charter is abused by police and judges continually , a police officer can thwart all or any of your rights and then you fight for YEARS through the court to get them back !!I was banned from publishing or filming Police !!! in Saskatchewan it took almost three years to regain my right to protection from abusive policeua-cam.com/video/QmOLYzNcrwM/v-deo.html
@@jeffpedler6094 exactly. and we're seeing it now with the idiots in Quebec.
#2 - The Charter is the Problem February 21, 2022 Canada Emergency act voted in 185-151 Section 1 of the Charter says that the government can take away all of our rights and freedoms whenever they deem there is a threat to our nation, without ever specifically stating what threat the government could use to actually take away our rights and freedoms. The Charter is so vague that taking away our rights and freedoms is just whatever the current government thinks is an emergency; Brian Peckford thinks only under perilous conditions like war, while Justin Trudeau thinks it’s when his power and demands are questioned. Mr. Peckford is charging the government for taking away our freedom to travel and that will involve a long drawn out expensive court case that will end in an unelected government appointed judge deciding if using the ‘subject only’ clause in Section 1 to strip us of our rights and freedoms was legit or not according to his/her interpretation of the Charter. And again, the Canadian people will have no voice in this decision, just as we have had no voice in any decisions in our country since the Charter was enacted. Just as the Charter gave our rights and freedoms away, it also gave our voice and power away. The Charter gave our voice and power away to unelected appointed Judges who make all of the laws, rules and decisions for the people based on how they interpret the Charter. Our elected officials don’t represent us. They all have to vote party line; and if party line violates some judge’s interpretation of the Charter, then even the party line goes out the window. In 2006 Rory Leishman wrote a book, “Against Judicial Activism: The Decline of Freedom and Democracy in Canada. The government said that the Charter and human rights codes would safeguard the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Canadians. Rory Leishman argues that this experiment has failed because judges and human rights adjudicators have turned their ideological preferences into the law. I agree with Mr. Leishman, however, I contend that that was the purpose of the Charter and Human Rights Commissions - to take all freedoms and power away from the people and put it into the hands of a few politicians, judges and unelected government bureaucrats. Before the Charter, we elected politicians who represented us in parliament, they voted according to the wishes of their constituents (us), and parliament made laws according to the will of the people and our Christian worldview foundation, and the judges went on to uphold the law. Because of the Charter, it doesn’t matter what Canadians want, unelected judges make the laws according to how they interpret the Charter based on the legal arguments they hear during expensive court cases, and Canadians have no voice.
In short, we are fuucked.

Did you watch the entire series? Watch section 4 before you go off on the judicial system.
No one was forced by law to be vaccinated. The community had a right to be protected from the individual's right to spread disease in such insecure and unknown times early in the reaction to covid pandemic.

I remember that but made my personal move at that time. Quite a young man so I paid attention. Rene born in Gaspe peninsula or Northern New Brunswick. I don't recall reason being most of Northern New Brunswick was Francophone.Good to hear all this not so old History. RIP to all who have passed on.🤠
They forgot the nonwithstanding close. This charter of rights is a farce.
Invested by one Trudeau...used as a rolling paper by the next. Jr. has some serious daddy issues to go this far.

Canadians watch this now!!
Crazy that Pierre created this just for his son to betray the people's freedoms
I wanna start doing Canadian constitutional auditing
To hear more non partisan discussion with the last surviving prmier to sign the Charter and play a vital role in the negotiations see ua-cam.com/video/sxl-I5j7LyI/v-deo.html this makes Trudeau out to be a hero... where in fact he was a hardline Federalist like his son today who is contravening the Charter and undermining the very fabric of our Democracy
bruh how does the charter of rights and freedoms have less subs then a channel about nursery rhymes
Who is Justin and what he doing in parliament?! He is not a patriot. He is a bissnesman and build own success to using Canadians peoples and Canada assets
this is boring, school sucks
Who is the clergyman speaking in this clip?
Thanks to the linguistic law in Quebec, currently in 2021 the English are 70% bilingual and before the linguistic law, the English were 30% bilingual. In Quebec, the French are 50% bilingual and outside Quebec, the French are 90% bilingual and the English outside Quebec are 10% bilingual. So it seems that the English are the most racist in Canada and Canadian multiculturalism is just bullshit.
Came here for my homework. Kpu student
