1980's gay pioneers and cabaret headliners "Hal & David" (singer/comic Hal-James Pederson and pianist David Rada) began performing together in 1980 in Hollywood cabarets as a husband & husband team, quickly gaining followings in the L.A., S.F., Houston, Dallas, Philadelphia and N.Y. gay communities with their eclectic repertoire, ranging from Noel Coward to '50s doo-wop, their gender-bending comedy, and their trailblazing "openly gay" relationship. Hal & David crossed over into mainstream clubs, earning rave reviews from the L.A. Times, San Francisco Chronicle and N.Y. Times, but stopped performing in 1987 due to the growing AIDS epidemic and the public's anti-gay backlash. Although they retired from performing (making occasional club appearances), Hal & David helped open the door for the new wave of openly gay performers in the '90s that included Ellen Degeneris and Mario Cantone.

NBC show with Leslie Uggams and Peter Marshall hosts. Lasted one season.
