    Great information! I've used it to treat bug bites, and it works great for that! I just grabbed some young leaves, washed them off with some water from my water bottle, chewed them up, and applied to the mosquito bite. It stopped the stinging and itching almost immediately! I held it there for about 3 more minutes, and it didn't swell up or anything. It's like it didn't even happen. I'm SOLD! Thanks for sharing.

      When they are big and bright that is a good time to pick. We're in Florida and it seems once it's cooler out like right now in the Fall they begin to become ripe.

    When marking a spiral on a stick I’ve found it simplest to use a string as a template to define the spiral. Once you have one you like mark with a pen or marker and commence carving.

    If you're on the Eastern half of the US, Ligustrum vulgare (common privet) is an invasive exotic, but it also tends to grow so it makes long, straight poles, and the wood is very strong and flexible. It's only drawback is that it is dense. I have several staves 6-8" long just from my small yard.

    Very cool walking stick! I tried my hand at carving with a dremel, but didn't have your good results. I've made a few, since then, with paracord wrapped for handle. Great job again!

    ❤ amazing! On a quest to regenerate my front yard zen garden after hurricane Ian, I run across this video and recognize the voice of my awesome childhood friend Duane. I just love fragrance, butterflies, birds, bees and playful squirrels adorning my lush world, I almost bring it back to life and then (finally) the trampling roofers show up only to destroy it once again. They are are still weeks away from finishing up, no blue tarps anymore, but still no shingles up there yet either. Will it ever end? Yes, Mother Nature has a way of awakening from almost anything.

If you haven’t, you should try getting in contact with him. Sorry to hear about your garden! It's so important to have a garden for the animals and insects as well as yourself. ☘

    That was a really cool looking dragon you doodled and carved into a walking stick with personal meaning for you. I like how fast it went compared to carving out the whole dragon like I've seen in other videos. Interesting-the connection between dragons and trees.....they both seem to "awaken the wild Soul".

    • @AwakenTheWildSoul
      @AwakenTheWildSoul Рік тому

      Thank you, I love dragons, especially Asian or Chinese dragons for my designs. I definitely wanted to go all out with the carving of the design, but as I said, I'm lacking experience with the dremel, so I kept it simple and used ink to make the design pop. I got a new dremel recently, so in the future I may make more complex designs. 😀 I feel awaken the wild soul can mean something different to different people, so I think the name is really special! 💗

    I have a tip that's helpful for telling if a watermelon is ready to pick. If you look where it is attached to the vine you will see a tendril close by. When that tendril dries all the way back where it connects to the vine try picking the watermelon. Works most times for us. You've inspired me to plant a plot of melon in the front yard. Good bye grass, hello food! I tend to do backyard beds but I like the vine covered front yard. 👍

    • @AwakenTheWildSoul
      @AwakenTheWildSoul Рік тому

      Thank you for the tip! We learned about that towards the end of watermelon season, it was still confusing for us because even some of the melons with dried tendrils were unripe. But we were reading about what's called "White heart" where the watermelon lacks nutrients so doesn't become red on the inside. Will have to experiment more next summer, watermelon has done fantastic for us. :)
