Until the recent "safe space" movement, it was progressive exposure therapy that ruled the day and for very good reason ... the science shows that it works. Avoiding the situation actually makes things worse. So the bottom line is this. If she wants people to be more sensitive to the needs of those who have been traumatized, that is already how most people act. Those who aren't sensitive to such situations won't be made more sensitive to by the use of trigger warnings. If she wants trigger warnings on everything, then she needs to be informed of the fact that SHE is making things worse that way. She needs to get an education.

What I think is not understood here is that we have the right of free speech to criticize the government, because that right wasn't given during Colonial times- to criticize the King. Also, to those who went to this and felt very hurt and very offended to the point of holding a group therapy session (allegedly)- this is the purpose of going to University: to get an idea of the world around you and accept that there will be differences of opinion. Pitt U has a boat load of services available. From reporting the rape to relocation services to different parts of campus, too counseling . all available 24 hrs a day. Why the need for safe spaces? Tax payer money has provided tons of resources for victims that dont disrupt other students that are there too learn. I found all of these resources in less than 30 seconds by typing university of pitt. So ya safe spaces is not needed.

A lot of women are fluid on the Kinsey scale, and we choose to start dating each other because we've been in terrible relationships with men. When lesbian couples break up, they act horribly towards each other. Women are more emotional than men, so when two women are going through a breakup with each other it very gets ugly.
