    I hope this message finds you well. My name is Jeeva, a dedicated student currently pursuing my studies in agriculture. As part of my final project, I am developing a solution to aid remote communities in effectively drying the honey they collect. Your expertise and the schematic diagram with dimensions of the honey drying box would be invaluable to me in achieving this goal. Your contribution would not only greatly enhance my project but also have a positive impact on the lives of many in underserved areas who rely on honey production for their livelihoods. I am eager to learn from your knowledge and experience in this field and would be immensely grateful for your support. Thank you in advance for considering my request. Your assistance would mean a lot to me and to those who will benefit from this initiative. Warm regards, Warm regards,

    So interesting! The actions of the bees are so amazing! Hope your bees survived. So sad to hear of the incredible number of bees who didnt survive Ian. 😵 I hope those beefarmers did all they could to protect the bees, as I dont understand why they couldnt transport them to higher ground, either North or East of the storm. Bees are their business and property, they should know how to protect them from the numerous FL storms!

      Answer to your question: Most of the bees are placed in areas that usually do not flood . In my area we had 21” of rain we had areas that have not been flooded in over 300 years on record.

    Very useful video! THANK YOU! One Q… Is there a reason why you use nuc boxes for the splits and not a full size broad box if you’re creating a new hive…….Would that not save you one step and a lot of work later on? (I have lots of extra broad boxes, but not many spare nuc boxes.)

    • @BasvanHeelRoseboom
      @BasvanHeelRoseboom 2 роки тому

      Yes, true. Good point. The bees have to keep the brood warm. If you use full size boxes use a divider board like dadant boxes use to keep the nest warm. The bees van pass the board. Its not nee free only insulated. I use a old frame wich s filled with cardboard to improve insulation. Both side a plate of thin cheap wood. Keep the entrence one bee entrence for defending.

    Did the bees go about creating the new supersedure queens on their own or did you provoke them to create them? The reason I ask is this..... If the bees feel the need to replace their queen because she is not performing as she should and you take those queens for new splits, don't you run the chance of creating a new colony with the same poor performance genetics of the original queen?

They still have 70% in the soffit. But, I was stung twice. I was standing 15 yards away. They came out the way to get me. smh by the way I enjoyed the very nice vid.

    What does any one think about pulling that frame of cells. Cutting them all out and putting on Queen protectors. Then bank them with friendly bees . Then let it be known you have 15 queen cells at $10-15 apiece. Or just sell the frame for $50. Not a beekeeper just a speculator. Just Subbed. Blessings.

      You can't ! Unless you cut right through the Plastic ! (Which would probably damage the Cell in the process !!!) You could use 1/2 Sheet of Plastic Foundation, in top part of Frame, allow Bees to drawn out Natural Work and, or Drone Comb. This natural lower Wax, also allows for Queen Cells to be made. 😏 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

    I was successful in drying some honey based on your video. Thanks for the clear and easily followed content. I purchased a dehumidifier for $189 and 6 (full tray sized alum. pans) for $67. My pans are 16 gauge and sturdy enough. I used a small closet with no HVAC vent and monitored with small indoor humidity meter. I did stir the trays with a fork to circulate the honey during the process (~24 hrs.). I definitely will look to get a rack. These alum. trays can be found used at scrap metal dealers. I recommend deep cleaning prior to use.
