Awesome sound. Great driving
Is that a real supra or is just a BMW 😊
Z51 better driver.
Hey I can’t decide if I should get the Eflite 300 or go for an extreme flight 60” model. I’m not quiet at your level but fairly confident 3d flyer. I see you fly all sorts of planes. Do you feel there is a big difference between a “pro” airplane and this eflite one?
The 60" Extreme Flight (or Skywing, etc..) offerings are without a doubt significantly better in every single way. Worlds apart. They make the Eflite look and feel like a toy in comparison. If you can swing it I would absolutely recommend the 60" stuff 10x over the Eflite. My 60" Laser is one of my all time favorites - it flies like a much larger airframe, just a bit quicker. The Eflite flies its size and doesn't have nearly the same roll/pitch/yaw authority, doesn't track nearly as well, etc..
Ok that’s a clear case then. Decision made :) thanks for your help. I’ve been doing lots of research watching videos but that’s the advice I needed 👍
Is that Rockingham Dragway?
Yes!
Really best 3D flight video of this plane on youtube. I've ordered one as well, could you please tell me, you've mentioned that your 3300mAh is heavy, so, how much it is? Ordering a batteries for that plane, that's why I'm asking.. thank your for great flight !!!)
Thanks! The HRB 3300mah is 12oz. The weight itself is not a problem, but with the pack as far back as it will go the CG is still more nose heavy than I would prefer. I prefer the heavier pack on windy days but it still flies great either way.. Lately I've been flying it with 4s 2200mah that weighs 8.5oz and have the opposite issue. It's a bit more tail heavy with the pack forward between the velcro straps. A 4s in the 10oz range would probably be perfect but the plane has a very wide CG range so it comes down to personal preference.
@@AP3D thank you for your reply, will consider your opinion definitely. Have a lovely day.
Supras generally top out around 115 in 4th I thought....
This is on a 28" tire and revving to 8600. Stock tire size and stock rev limit is around 120 in 4th.
Beautiful! Thanks for the video!
When I take the time to look at one of these videos on the quarter-mile, the biggest thing I’d like to know to try to learn a little more about the car is what The ETA and tramp speed is.
Read the description
Which battery do you feel is the best one to use? Obviously 4s but capacity wise? Amazing flying by the way, this will take me long to achieve
Thanks! I think for most a 4s in the 3000 range is going to be the best option, at least to start. You get more flight time and the forward CG helps the plane track, especially in windy conditions and it will still 3D. With a 2200 as forward as possible it is very tail heavy (climbs on an inverted 45° upline) so it flies very 'loose' and tumbles better, etc.. I like the lighter battery in very calm conditions. The heavier 3000 is a better balance for sport/precision and basic 3D.
That’s very helpful. Thanks for providing all the insights 👍
You ever miss your 3000gt Vr-4? lol
LOL Which one? I've owned a bunch over the years! They hold a lot of nostalgia for me, but unlikely I'll own another. You never know... A minty, low mile Sandstone 1G would be tough to turn down. I'm kinda over older cars, though.
Nice run. I had a Carracas Red over tan 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 I owned for 15 years, bought it with 21k miles and sold it with 137k miles. At my local quarter mile track I ran 13.3-13.5@101-103mph all stock. Once you learn to launch it like you dont care about it it rewards with almost modern day fast times. I used to give my friend's Nissan 300ZX Twin-Turbo fits from a dig, I'd gap him hard enough that he'd give up most of the time. Fast ans handled very well, it didnt feel as heavy as it was and to me the 320hp rating felt 10hp conservative.
Thanks! I've owned a bunch (too many) 3/S cars over the years. This '99 was my swan song. I did a Chromed ECU flash tune and ran 12.5 @ 108MPH still 100% mechanically stock. The original clutch was the biggest limitation. Definitely an under-appreciated platform and holds a special place for me!
How much experience would be needed to step up to this plane? Landing would be my concern. Thanks.
It is absolutely an advanced-level model, IMO. It is difficult to take off and land, especially on grass. Take offs are difficult because the tiny tail wheel has zero authority to keep the model tracking in a straight line and you have to very gently ease into the power due to the extreme torque from the motor - no more than 50-60% throttle until off the ground. Landing requires a loooong approach and you have to fly it all the way to touch down, and if you land too fast it will nose over and potentially cartwheel.
I have to put another 1K miles on my ZO6/7 before I can track it, cant wait!!!
Nice! They are incredible on track right out of the box! I'll have one in the stable in the near future. Enjoy!
GOOD JOB ON ROWING THOSE GEAR'S!
You have to outrun this car in first gear, because 2nd and beyond your ass is grass 😂😂
Excellent driving! Once again shows what a difference driver skills make, and what an effective track weapon the Stingray is in the hands of a skilled driver.
Favorite corvette this and the c7 z06
Reeling him in on the braking zones and corners, nice!
Nice!!
Nice job man!
I can do a lot of the 3D stuff with this plane but you’re so polished and smooth, great job. Subscribed I have problems getting this to knife edge spin sometimes seems like it needs rail weights or I have a skill issue lol
Thanks! This plane is a bit tricky to get into a good KE spin because it doesn't have a lot of pitch authority at low airspeed, especially with a heavy battery and forward CG. I've found starting with a vertical downline, full left aileron for a few rotations and then inputting full down elevator and right rudder and powering up while neutralizing the aileron is an easy way to get into a good KE spin (and it looks cool). The inputs are pretty simple but the timing is key.
Perfect Shifts!
How do you like the c8 on track vs the c7?
The C8 is a much better road car, the C7Z is a track monster. I enjoy tracking the C8 because it's a new challenge learning how to manage and optimize with all of the weight behind you. It requires a very different approach, one that took me a long time to figure out (and I'm still figuring it out). It is a very easy car to drive at 8/10 but at 10/10 it is MUCH less forgiving. I was instantly comfortable in the C7Z and it has more everything - power, grip, brakes, etc.. But the C8 is still a lot of fun on track and punches above its weight with a skilled driver.
My CG is waaaay aft. Is that correct?
I prefer the plane with an aft CG. With a 3200-3300mah pack you can't really get the CG rearward as much as I would like, even with the battery pushed as far back as it will go. With a 2200mah pack you need the battery forward so that the tail of the pack is just behind the rear velcro strap. In that config the plane is nearly hands-off inverted.
@@AP3D I was finally able to add a ton of weights inside the cowl/nose to get the CG tipping forward slightly, and it finally performs amazing! Inverted and all. Plus a spektrum 4000 pack all the way forward. It went from crap flying to super fun! I’m just glad it did because I was ready to give up on it. Thanks for your input.
Can you elaborate on the rudder/elevator mixing you’re using for knife edge? I understand that you’re telling the plane to adjust the elevator in a certain way when using the rudder, I just need to know what way. I would great,y appreciate it. Thank you!
Nearly every airframe has a tendency to pitch toward the belly with rudder input. This is apparent in knife edge flight but the pitch coupling exists in every attitude. To compensate I have a mix coupling up elevator with rudder input. It's progressive and just a few degrees of up at max rudder deflection; takes 2-3 tries to get it perfectly dialed, and the mix is somewhat dependent on the CG.
Great lap! Hope I didn’t slow you down. Saw you coming…stayed right.
Thanks on both accounts, ha! Still managed a PB so can't complain!
Do you still own this car?
Long gone, regrettably
Any chance you know where it was sold? With how many miles.
I sold it to a gentlemen in SC. Had just under 10k miles.
@@AP3Dty 😊.
Worst thing you can do when spinning out is to brake
Proceeds to floor it past him🤣
That's protocol. You absolutely do not stop on track unless there is a red flag and you do not get out of your car unless it is on fire!
It ripps
Now that is a LAP! Very nice!
Well Done!
Crazy lap even with traffic 🔥 Really bummed I couldn’t make it, cage and seats turned into a multi day job courtesy of some ill fitting seat rails.
Thanks, man! Took me 8 laps to work my through most of the traffic to get a decent flyer in! Small world.. A buddy of mine saw your car at CES and sent me a pic of it asking if I knew it.
Siema dobry jesteś 👏👏👍👍🍾
Ls9 motors are stout, and it takes skill to launch such a beast
Is the obd2 ecu upgrade plug and play?
Mostly, yes - but I recall there is one pin on the harness that needs to be moved. It's been so long but there should still be write ups on the web or forums that cover the conversion.
Flying on AR-1s!
Finally got the EXTRA 300. Haven't done the Maiden yet. Got a problem. With a 4s 3300 shoved all the way forward, I'm still WAY tail heavy. Have you ever heard of this in the past.
I can 100% guarantee you it is not tail heavy with a 4s 3300 in any position. Just fly it.
Stock ESC? How many amps are you pulling with that 10x10 on 6S?
Stock ESC. No idea how many amps.
Great flying. Nothing wrong with the video quality IMHO. That flying field is a dream. Thanks for the tip below about the ruddier mixing for KE. Mine needs something. I thought it might be tail heavy since it pushes to the gear on knife edge. I do have 6 clicks of down on the trim. Trying a little mixing next time out since straight and level is hands off and inverted is also close to hands off. I'm flying a 4s 3300 also.
Thanks. RE: CG -- it is definitely not going to be tail heavy with a 4s 3300. Because of the short coupling it has a good amount of pitch sensitivity which I think gets conflated with being tail heavy. With a 4s 2200 pushed toward the rear it is definitely tail heavy; still flies ok but it has some undesirable characteristics. I would highly suggest setting up a KE mix and leave it on all of the time. Nearly every airframe has some pitch coupling with rudder; I run mixes in everything I fly and once dialed in you can forget it's there.
Can’t see anything
Sorry about your disability..
Are you using a GoPro camera that’s attached to your head or is that a cell phone mount

I'll sell you this one!
Hello. How weight is this model? Thanks, KLemen
I don't know exactly since I never weighed it, but I would estimate 18-20lbs

@@AP3D Sportsman housing?
@@dexlex2002 No, the smaller GT37 frame. .96ar open hotside. Made 11xxWHP and went 160MPH in the 1/4 in ~3600' DA. The Sportsman doesn't really make more power but it is a LOT more reliable at high boost.
@@AP3D ok. I was wondering because the turbo spooled really nicely. What RPM do you get full boost?
@@dexlex2002 It was all-in (40psi) around 4700-5000RPM. What was through a 4" recirculated dp into a 3.125" catback. A full 4" would have probably come on a bit quicker.
Awesome!

Not following you, just used to have some bit of respect back in the day for you. And how UA-cam works, subscribers get content they subscribe to in their feed, not sure if you're aware.
@@b18tuner5875 Cool. I've had 5 MKIV Supras and have accomplished everything I wanted to and more with them. Got bored with old cars/big builds and moved on. I've had more fun tracking both Corvettes and the MKV than I did with any of the MKIVs.
@@AP3D Fun is subjective, many people still track and race the MKIV Supra because the numbers are there. Not being able to afford something is different than getting bored with it. The Corvettes perform worse than my MR2 anyways, I don't see the comparison here, still seems like you couldn't handle it. I will admit that I do all my own work on my cars, so unless you have that skillset, I can understand a MKIV Supra is something too hard to handle.

How much weight do you have in the tail ?
None in this video. I did end up adding an ounce of lead to the tail once I got it dialed in.
Was that a stock non Aero z06 you were running?
Correct -- "stage 1 aero" which is the small plastic front lip with no winglets and the black side skirts.
