Peleliu: Operation Stalemate II Then and Now
You must always be there at the same time of year that we are. Lucky you, for finding clear water. The west end was murky the whole time we wear there. One day we had waves so high even the locals were shocked. Always love your videos.
We totally lucked out on the salt river dive-conditions were ideal. Pier was somewhat murky but the GoPro seems to filter a lot of that out. Cane bay was mixed-great vis for about 2/3 the dive! Jack & Isaac was a bit murky. January is always a bit of a crap shoot for diving
Another great video. Heading to STX Tuesday for the rest of the winter can't wait. Thanks!!
I have a good friend who is in St. Croix for the next few months. We are trying to figure out how to get down there, at least for a couple days of diving. Gorgeous.
Thank you for watching!! St Croix is worth the trip! There are many places to dive and snorkel around the island. We will be back in March for more!
Dad was on the CL46 USS Phoenix during the war. For her age this old girl looks pretty good, the age old scrape and paint that never ends.
Great video, Roger. I was happy to let you tour this turret! Thanks for representing it so well, and yes - I can see what kind of work we need to do to get her back to ship shape! Thanks for your support!
Awesome video, got to love the sound too🎉
Thank you. I always enjoy your vids. I'm a big fan of drone video, so I got a lot of what I love.
Thanks for your kind comment-I definitely want to dive new spots around the island for some fresh material!
@@rogergraulty9423 We tried Jack's Bay this year for a change of pace (snorkeling). A lot of Moose Antler coral. Nor sure of the name.
Forgot to ask. Have you ever dove the Jungle Gym at Butler Bay? Excellent shallow dive
Not yet! We wanted to do shallow wrecks too but ran out of time…..next trip in October we will hit some new sites
Excellent as always. The Pier never disappoints. Thank you
Thank you!
Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing your dives. I hope to get below the surface snorkeling and get certified so I can experience this! Awesome photography! I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you! The pier is such an amazing and easy dive.
Beautiful video, thanks for sharing. What was the water temp in January? How about currents?
Water temps are probably 83….according to my dive computer, the minimum temp on a 75 foot dive was 81. I generally don’t wear anything but a rash guard. Currents vary-we have seen conditions from calm to rough in January.
We will give it a try next fall. Thanks
Always love your video's Very well done. Missing STX so it was great to watch. Where do you enter the water at Gallows Bay?
We have always taken the Hotel Boat over to the hotel and snorkel from there. Easy access
@@rogergraulty9423but what then, snorkel back from hotel island towards Gallows Bay?
@@travelwithus2there198 we usually just go back to the hotel beach and take boat back
Fantastic beautiful views and videos of emerald Palau.
Beautiful. Love it.
Stunning. Thank you for sharing your breathtaking adventures at pristine emerald Palau.
We’re going there in mid May is it hard to get a taxi towards Carambola hotel?
It is pretty easy to get taxis….we have only done taxis a couple times but had good experiences.
Fun, fun, fun! Probably swam past each other at cane bay. Another great vid.
As always your videos catch the essence of St Croix. So we'll done. We are on STX now and we love this island.
Thank you for your kind comment! It is such a beautiful place. We will be back in May. Enjoy STX!
Thank you so much for promoting our Pearl of the Pacific..😊🤝🤝🙌🙌
Heading to STX in 10 days. Hope we will see Dolphins also! We have dove Salt River but where is Cormorant? Thanks for the great video!
Cormorant is near the west end of Long Reef…..near Turquoise Bay. It may be a local name-there are so many dive sites along that stretch. We were very happy to see dolphins! They popped up to check us out just as we were getting ready to leave Salt River west…..surface swells kept our speed down as we headed to Cormorant….i think the dolphins followed us.
Great video, great music too
beautiful
beautiful, we cant wait to return to STX
nice video! Especially like the drone shots of Gentle Winds and Villa Margarita (the villa immediately to the left of GW).
Wow! Some of the best recreational travel and dive footage I've seen in a while. I've had the joy of diving the pier at night. I'm looking forward to diving during the day.
Sad to see so much dead coral. I spent some time on St John at the Lameshur Bay ecological research station back in the 80s and the coral was so vibrant. We were just starting to see coral bleaching back then and researchers initially thought it was a disease that came through the canal.
I would have loved to see it decades ago.
Nice blend of music, very cool. Mind if I ask you what do you shoot underwater video with? thanks
We used GoPro hero 7 with lights for most of it. I’m learning a new camera for a big trip to Palau this fall. That is an Olympus TG-6. Still trying to get that one down. We have newer GoPro models but the 7 just seems to do the job every time
Very nice video. It's a gorgeous place. Thank you.
We love your videos .My wife and I have dove the pier numerous times over the last 3 years and it never disappoints. Tremendous night dives when everything comes alive, I"m sure you feel the same. Keep the vids coming. Thanks!!
Great video!! We saw alot of young turtles around STX this winter. I loved how they seemed to be playing in the surge. Thanks for sharing
Thats a great video
Great video!!! I was born at JPS hospital. I’m very proud of this area as well! Thanks so much for posting this. 👍🤠
Some kind of greyhound or whippet mix?
Gorgeous! Love the blue October song
Looks like the coral is coming back to life, we just got back. Didn’t snorkel this trip though
WOW!
Thank you!
Love your videos they are done so well. We have been wintering in STX the last few years enjoying the diving and the islands beauty . January can't get here fast enough.
I know the feeling! For us February can’t get here fast enough. ❤️
Your vid's are really good. Thanks for identifying the fish.
You do a really good job with your videos. Thank you for sharing !
Thank you for your kind feedback!
@@rogergraulty9423 My father and mother in law live on St Croix. We visit every year. We are junkies for the St Croix videos, but most of them are all about the people making the videos. While we are waiting for our next arrival we like to try to find recent videos. We're trying to watch the sargasum seaweed situation around Sugar Beach. We stay in the condos near where the parents live in Princess, but don't typically find videos of sugar beach. The seaweed was horrible the last two times we came.
@@lorigandolfo547 the sargassum seemed to be pretty non-existent when we were there.
@@rogergraulty9423 Good to know, thanks ! My mother in law is going to go down to sugar beach near when we are coming in January and give us a report.
😁 We love to get amped up for upcoming trips to St Croix by watching St Croix videos. Thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed it !
Have a great trip!
Nice video
Pretty sure you meant sugar mills not windmills haha. St Croix is looking so green and beautiful. Your video skills are excellent as always and getting better. Congrats on moving there finally. My dream some day too.
Absolutely Gorgeous. Love St Croix. We plan on moving there in 2-3 years. Visit the island often. Thanks so much for sharing.
We are doing the same....probably in 3-4 years! getting ready!!
What editing program do you use?
I use cyberlink power director
Thank you. That was beautiful.
Very lovely ! Hope to see more videos

How about droning and diving the entire coast love it... @
One day! Of course the airport/refinery would be off limits!
@@rogergraulty9423 True, you don't want to stir up anything, I'm working on it, check out some of my videos,... for me it's kind of personal, I have only visited 4 times since 1988, twice since covid, ...but dad and grandma were born there, ....what an island, reminds me of Puerto Rico in the 60's, I lived it then
