Jamais egalè en terme de pure improvisation. Je l'écoute depuis plus de 40 ans. Et there will never be another you. ❤
That old guy never gets old.
unbelievable flow!!!!!
very out there yet very musical vocabulary. love me some sco on standards
He was great 40 years ago, now he’s ublime. Can’t get any better
Фирменно)
00:38 cop that lick.. it works ANYWHERE. You start it with a strong chord tone 3 or 7 and work it through All the Things you Are i.e. The phrasing is pure bebop/swing and it just naturally swings and smoothly leads to other licks or variations of the same riff that work. TRY IT IF you play the same lick all the way through a chorus, with small variations, it doesn't sound boring. Great lick.
i’m excited to attend his guitar clinic this september in manila
1000 лет не слышала, как ты играешь. Даже соскучилась.
Гитара класс!!!
Yeah!!! Great as always. Great music always makes me smile!
Don’t show this one to your friends who “don’t like jazz.” For fans only, this. But if you’re a fan… burning! I hope when I’m Scofield‘s age I can still play the head to joyspring, forget about shredding over the changes like this.
unbelievable feel. <3
The Godfather Love Theme quote he threw in there though!!
The melody is never lost ❤
The timing neither!
Sco kicking mojo ass here... thanks for posting 🎸☕
❤
The way he uses the melody to create solo lines is so unique
over rated ham fisted jewish hack.
wooooow
Genio y figura hasta la sepultura! Gracias por tanto Maestro Scofield.
How aptly tilted. Just glorious playing. wow
Fucking amazing, that's what that is
If music is a language every time this dude rides a song a whole and complete story is being written and told!!
A great song with great changes and a great performance by Sco. Long live Sco!
Much rather hear it in an acoustic quartet!
🙂🙂🙂
Great jazz!
beautiful Scofield !
Incredible phrasing, beautiful, precise and unique
Great Stuff , Really Like It.
Grandioso Scofield!
❤
1:12 he quotes godfather ahah
Always inspiring
Striking the way jazz works when someone like this guy understands what the music is saying and helps it.
Great to hear him as he gets into his zone! Thanks JS and poster.
He has a great voice.
sounds like a bunch of noodling with nothing melodic going on.
For your taste. Others will regard this as absolutely outstanding improvisation and re-harmonization skills
@@christianlacheze3323 crazy thing is I took guitar lessons from John Scofield in mid 80s. Still remember it was $100 hr back in 1985. Goes to show you how our tastes can change. And I did watch more of the video and did hear some sporadic melody😎
Maybe if you don't know the language and/or the tune, but he's clearly playing the changes throwing very cool lines.
It's funny , like most of us, this was probably one of the first standards he learned when he was in his teens and now a half a century later he returns to it.
Immenso❤
So great ! I would have to have seen the whole show !
Scofield aweeeesommm finest guitar player of our generation.
damn sco's old ol' man sco
필드옹.. 사랑해옹..
