Greenland looks more like Europe than North America

Do not be deceived, this video does not accurately demonstrate the reality of driving in Nicosia! It must have been filmed on a quiet Sunday morning, shops closed, cafes practically deserted and only one short pip on a car horn (whereas the reality is a constant cacophony of blasting horns). Visiting a sick relative involved a journey across the city from accommodation near the border. Google maps did it’s best but every day the route was different, presumably to avoid most congestion, zigzagging through narrow old town streets then back to the seemingly aggressive noise (or maybe it’s their idea of music?). The only good thing was that I was driving on my familiar left, otherwise I would have spent a fortune on twice daily taxis.

Anyone wondering about Mr John's prices/day trip: picks you up from your hotel at roughly 7.30am/7.45am (he tells you the exact time). Drives you to the Protaras strip, where you join a bigger coach. Take your passport for passport control. Mr John and Mr Ahmed show you around and give you lots of information. Very good, and funny tour. Dropped me back at my hotel by 2.45pm. Pay €30/person at the end of the tour (take cash) (October 2024 price)

Taxi's have so many more route options than private cars! Really enjoyed this tour. Such a nice clean city, except for all the scooters on the street corners.

Qaqortoq looks like a pleasant town. The south of Greenland really is green especially this area. I noticed that there appears to be no advertising around the town and even buildings that might be buisiness or government buildings don't seem to have signs on them. Can someone familiar with the area comment on this?
