Hi - I'm here to share my life with anyone looking for some uplift through inspiring stories, including interviews and discussions about NDE's (near death experiences) which I find fascinating and uplifting, as well as enjoying nature and the outdoors by way of hiking, skiing, swimming, camping and photography. If you're looking for a balanced approach to life which includes creating a healthy outlook from the spiritual to the mental and physical, I'll share my journey with you - welcome. P.s. my latest material includes documenting a fun project- a lifelong dream of building an A-frame up in Vermont. Take the journey with me from raw land to a finished house (just getting to the actual build now...) and learn what I can teach by doing brilliantly or by making mistakes- lol. Hopefully not too much of the latter.

The A-frame build - framing dormer and second floor!
Переглядів 2,4 тис.14 днів тому
Hi - now we're framing the 2nd floor and first level of the big bedroom dormer! Gotta get the dormers built before the roof can go on, so we're racing the clock and the calendar. September's goal is to have the dormers built and front overhang done so we can get everything under a real roof. Then the end walls. Now you can see the "A" coming to life! #aframe, #design-build, #aframecabin , #afra...

Analysis Paralysis 😁
Interesting to see the progress made. Best of luck ☘ completing before the adverse weather sets in.
Very interesting to see maths in practical operation.
BRAVO! Austin is good solo, just him and his Martin
thanks for the lesson
Looking good!
Thanks!
Slow and steady wins the race. It's looking really good
Thanks- we'll get there yet!
Are you open to volunteers from the SPTV community? I may know a guy... #Me

Hi - I'll figure out how - that would make sense - got enough videos on here now...
Love this! Keep it coming!
We will!
Wow! When one sees a finished A-frame you don't really think about all the work that went into building it. I like the fact that you do it right and don't cut corners.
Thanks- this one's more for the fun and satisfaction of building it well than the money, which is a privilege as we can work at a comfortable pace and enjoy the process. Already learning a lot just figuring out each step.
👏👏👏👏👏
Nice!
Thanks!
Wow you all are amazing. I would get dizzy and land on my backside! Great work.
Thanks so much!
I love a building project. Looking forward to following your progress.
Wow, gorgeous view! I sure hope both you and Marilyn feel better soon. Have a safe drive home and take care.
thanks - catching up a bit late with comments...
Hope you and Marilyn feel better soon! 💞💞
Wowzer, amazing. Love seeing how it fits together.
thanks....
That looks amazing 😃 my vacation home is coming along nicely! Don't work too hard!!
Gotta keep on working - winter's on the way - lol
hot damn! look at that!!
Deck is looking superb. Thanks for sharing
Hi- I just watched my video here to make sure it was watchable and caught myself in one mistake- I was saying pull 15 3/4 for layout- I ditzed- that's supposed to be 15 1/4 to 16 3/4 which defines the edges of the next joist. Usually we go with 16 inches after that by hooking the tape on the nail or second joist in and making an X on the far side of each mark to indicate that go are going beyond the mark with the joist or rafter.
Looking good. Thanks for the tape-16" center tip
Thanks, Duncan! Looks great! I always wanted to build a deck, but the layout of my house and yard just doesn't lend itself to that.
work'n on the 4th :) . . . why does that deck look like it's lean'n back into the frame? i listened and heard you say you lowered it for the threshold. . . but surely you kept it level or tilted away? i'm positive it was the camera angle and my messed up eyes and i tried to listen again but didn't hear anything . . .and my ocd wouldn't let me carry on without asking :) nice job though hope'n to do some of that super soon myself :)
it's level - just a bit below the floor level of the house..
Happy 4th, Duncan. OMG it's coming along nicely 😊
Happy 4th of July Duncan. Love this update, it's very informative and intriguing to see how the deck all holds together. Love the tip "The only mistakes you make are the ones you don't fix"
Austin was joking about recording in the cellar as the acoustics are ridiculous- it's a echo chamber!
Dont need to be doubled to carry deck load ! The freaking concrete wall does the carrying! Wow
Coming right along, Duncan 👍🏻
Wowzer, impressive progress, looking grrreat. Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm enjoying watching the progress from a hole in the ground to becoming an actual house
once you deck it have the boys play a concert on it
Coming along great!!
Amazing!!!
Well done Duncan. I’m excited for you. It’s an amazing accomplishment.
It's really coming along!!!! 😁
It's cool watching the foundation tighten up. I can almost hear the hammers that'll be coming in the near future
Great work Duncan, it's growing :)
It looks good, but if you would have used Icf, you wouldn't have had the glue on foam board.
Thanks Duncan, I iddn't think I was interested in construction but this build has caught my attention and I'm immensely enjoying watching the progress
looking great!!
looks tight
Thanks Duncan - I'm enjoying these updates. It's intriguing watching the progress.
wow! looking good!!
Progress is being made, looking great Duncan👍💪🫶👌
