    Dude, i have just bought this with the same pump but the valve is a screw and the pump valves are not? How do you pump it up?

    • @goyourownrea2026
      @goyourownrea2026 Рік тому

      The pump and the valve hole on the kayak / paddleboards just click together. You've to turn it so it locks into the hole, hard to explain over text but it should be pretty simple? Mine literally just goes into the hole, twist it a little in the hole so it catches and locks.

      Well I’m a 69 yr old granny and love Tolkien. Have all the books, massive big book (very expensive) on everything LOTR & Hobbit, all the DVD’s extended versions. My Christmas each year is to watch them all, one each night. Did a fabulous LOTR tour in the South Island, a no where near as good one in Wellington and of course, toured the very excellent WETA Workshop in Wellington. Went to see what was left of Hobbiton after LOTR and went back 6 years ago to see it fully functioning and had a Hobbit’s lunch. They are converting a Hobbit hole currently so in future you can walk thru it and see what a Hobbit’s home actually looks like. It’s meant to be completed by December this year. I hope you get to go ‘there and back again’ soon. I plan to return for next years celebration on 22nd September and shall go to the night celebration dressed as Lobelia Sackville-Baggins....complete with the silver spoons in my pocket. I may stay a few days in Matamata and do the breakfast as well. Cheers from Australia

    • @goyourownrea2026
      @goyourownrea2026 Рік тому

      Hey bro thanks for messaging! Don't worry man, if you take precautions you'll be fine! I add cork/polystyrene to any hooks I'm using. Towel around my feet adds a little safety net should anything fall in. I don't cast too much, usually just a little under arm lob out or just drop it at the kayak and retrieve. I'm sure it's fine I just don't wanna take that risk lol! If I catch I usually use a net, just gives me added safety should a fish shake the hook last min. Mackerel are that stupid you shouldn't worry with a net lol! Just be careful fishing multiple hooks, if it's not in the net I hold my arm out straight so the hooks are real far away before lifting the fish/hooks in..keeping my arm kinda high up, and drop them onto the towel/bucket.. if that makes sense. Don't let an inflatable boat and a hook/sharp objects put you off adventuring. Just be careful man!

    You can actually eat like a hobbit for real in NZ at the movie set. Hobbiton offers Second Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner tours (although I am not sure if they are all on one day. If possible to book all in one day you could in theory get up, have a light breakfast, arrive for the second breakfast tour, do the tour, have breakfast, then line up for lunch (you would have to arrange to skip the tour part of the lunch tour), go back to the Shires Rest for afternoon tea and then go on the dinner tour and have supper at your accommodation in Matamata. I don’t think one can actually do this as the times for Second Breakfast and Lunch tours overlap even if they were offered on the same day. I also suspect one would find it difficult to eat that much unless a person was very disciplined and paced themselves.

    How tough is the material in regards to hooks bouncing around and such

    • @goyourownrea2026
      @goyourownrea2026 Рік тому

      I haven't deliberately tried to play with any hooks or sharp objects with the material but I've obviously had them come close to the kayak when retrieving etc. Just stay smart. I always just try to prevent anything grim like punctures ...if using hooks I'll use little foam/polystyrene cutoffs to cover any hooks and I'll usually have a bucket at my feet that tackle usually transports in.

  • @seasider101
    @seasider101 2 роки тому

    Many thanks for an excellent video, Matty. I've had my Itiwit 3 for a year now and thoroughly enjoyed it. One puncture in the base gave me a taste of the reality of owning an inflatable canoe/kayak... otherwise it has proven the test of time. It's very stable and very well made. I've taken a mate out fishing along Seacliffe Road, Bangor and yep, the hooks made me worry, but the robust shell of the Itiwit proved it could handle the odd snag. I use a small grapple anchor on a recycled fishing-net rope. I'll take your advice and go for the two-way pump... a one-way and electric pumps are too slow. Many thanks again

      On this particular day I didn't but I have in the past, I've a small anchor from decathlon and I use a small boat rope, attaching it can be difficult because there's no place for an anchor on the kayak, I've just tied it to the handles and dropped it over the side.

    • @goyourownrea2026

      Hey man, if occasionally with 2 people this model is definitely enough, 50% of the time I use mine I'm with someone else. Saying that, I've been out plenty of times solo and it's fine, I'm 6'1 so I like that I've loads of room, I imagine with 3 people including me it would be too tight a squeeze, but maybe it's because I hate sitting with my legs crossed for a long period haha! 1-2 people this kayak is perfect! My advice would be one rows one side and the other do opposite. Try and do it in a rhythm, if you're rowing harder your side will over power hers or vice versa. It can be a little annoying at first but just practice, 'stroke, stroke, stroke' lol
