Talladega Comeback iRacing
Never give up! I was wrecked under caution while in 3rd place with 13 laps to go. Had a meatball and 3 min of optional damage. Got back out of the pits on the lead lap in 19th place. Battled my way back to the front with a damaged front right side and took the lead juat as the #7 took out the whole field on the final lap. 🏁

Thanks for the post... I did this back in 2021 and it helped. Occasionally I would get misshifts and just pop the top four fasteners out, unplug the two pin connector, replug and button it back up. that would remedy it for a month or so. That was my go to until recently, where I couldn't escape several misshifts. I just pulled the tape from the back of the PCB out of desperation. Guess we'll see.

I'm very curious to know if this is a lasting fix. Ive had mine for like 3 months and I'm about to chuck this thing out the window
So far so good! The people that I’ve read about doing this fix said that it has lasted. Hopefully it’ll hold up. Good luck 👍

@@isimrace okay so far so good but I didn’t find that you don’t have to take it as far apart as you did. I just rotated the shifter and was able to get to the board
So far no problems with mine how long you had this shifter for
It’s a little over a year old. It started messing up about two months ago. The sequential shifter worked fine so I just used it for everything. I finally decided to give this fix a try and so far so good. 👍

@@steven-vdwit came with a plastic piece and screws to fit it to the shaft. It fit pretty well. Had to tighten the screws a few times.

Thank god I play GT7, wouldn't love my race getting over because of one mistake....people play games to get away from boring reality, so called Simulators have completely forgotten that and made racing games a chore, no wonder why nobody aside from small niche group of players play them 😂....they will all become even more irrelevant once GT7 comes to PC, just a matter of time
People including real life drivers race sims to have a close to real life experience in a game without consequences. Ghosting through cars kind of ruins the vibe 😂
@@isimrace lately when I go back and play these games when I wipe out into a wall or even another player I quit because in real life my car would be totaled. I restart and try again

I did the same thing the 18 did, I was doing a league race at Charlotte on Roblox's USCRL, 24 was being dirty af so, what I did... I retaliated against his ass, the officials did nothing but gave the 24 the freedom to drive way worse that he did the other two races he tried to ruin a good finish to a good race, and I got called out for doing what should've been done that no one would've done, and got a race probation, the next time the 24 had intentionally brake checked me at Homestead-Miami multiple times because, again... He was being dirty, so I took matters into my own hands, and showed my displeasure, but it wasn't until Las Vegas where he decided to drive everyone dirty, every one of those drivers had enough of the 24's actions where we all called them out, and the 24 got an 8 race suspension, missed out on the championship race, and the Daytona 500. But after all that, pretty sure everything should be calm, and peaceful... And hopefully the 24 has cleaned up his driving a bit lol. I feel for that 18 car right there, and I was also called in the wrong when I was retaliating against the 24, for doing something he wasn't supposed to. And I'm not the type of guy to upload the drama onto any social media. (P.s. y'all don't have to read this but, imagine in your head how it would ended out if you were in one of those situations, and you had to make a decision.)

They’re tight but seemed to loosen up after a few laps. Everything was fixed including the brakes. I think they’ll be fun in a league but D class is gonna be a Wreckfest.

This is such a great example of the fundamental flaw in the FFB model of force feedback. It also demonstrates the issue of where ffb can feel like it's producing a force than is 10x stronger than it should be and yet so loose around the center. If we used positional control instead, this issue would be completely non existent and finally we could have realisitic inertia/momentum simulation.
If I have the ratio to 900° or 1080° this won’t really happen but I typically run the open wheels at 540°. Once past about 40 mph it’ll go crazy if let go.

@@SquiggyWigginz not a simple request. Firstly the ffb wheel would need to be servo controlled with a torque sensor on the shaft to measure the drivers input force/torque. Then on the game side, it would need to change from sending torque command as output to receiving torque data as input (from the torque sensor on the shaft) and change receiving rotational position data from the wheel as an input to sending rotational position command to the wheel as an output. The whole feedback loop needs flipping on its head and from both a software (driver and game) and hardware perspective. No easy feet but a necessary one if we are to one day have true to life feeling and behaving “FFB” wheels. The closest thing we have to it in the sim racing world (whilst still being a very primitive variant of it) is the SimuCube Active Pedals. They operate on this positional command-torque sensing as input feedback loop BUT it’s only happening on the driver and hardware side and not the game side (which if it did would make it even more next level with what you could simulate) but it can do so for such a device because aside from ABS, there is no dynamic force feedback from the pedals as there is with the wheel so to speak. Actually, there might be a dynamic force feedback from the pedals I just realised. For starters, if it was the full Monty loop (hardware, software, game) you could have accurate feel of the initial slack in the pedal before the brake pads make contact with the disc. Also a completely realistically simulated feeling and performing clutch pedal.

Thanks! 1.5 inch pipe works perfectly. I do use my GoPro for filming. I record the game separately and sync up the audio cause I use headphones.
