I want to tell my personal story: I am half Jewish and half arab(from Marroc). My mother is Jewish and my father was Arab from military forces from Marroc. My mother is blonde with fair skin and brown/green small cat eyes , my father had dark black hair with brown skin and almond big eyes. They both fell in love passionately with each other when they met. It was a problem for them because none of their families accepted my parents love. Their family tried very hard to accept each other for so long, but with the exception for my Arab grandmother and my Jewish godmother none of the others tried to understand. So my parents decide to emigrate to Europe, they had two daughters ( me and my sister). Me and my sister wore brought up as Christians in Europe(school), as well as the Jewish values and islam values at home ( yes you can call us a well mixed salad that turn out rather well) as my parents decided that their love and their family was more valuable than ego. When we use to go out my mother would always dress up and would put a little of heels. Sometimes she looked taller than father.😂. Father use to look so proud at her but at the same time would made him nervous has she was a really beautiful woman! Father never left her side and would always held hands with her, or put his armas around her waist. It was really beautiful to see their love. I grew up hearing my mother saying : please do not tell anyone that your mother is Jewish or your father Arabic, as fear of another extermination of Jews was yet to come or a rashly to kill my father was to yet to come. So we grew up in fear and nothing happened! Today as adults we look back and we understand their fears. My father passed away during Covid, leaving among us - his family and huge community of friends, including his company in arms an emptiness, today we all still miss him, my mother lingers on in life, missing him every day. Somedays I really think she is counting the days she has to wait till her day so she can join him in death and after life. I guess if people could only tried to leave their ego aside, and tried to be not affected so much by religion ( that sometimes and most of the times has nothing to do with god), maibe could look at each and see human beings and not so nationality, ethnicity or other factors that drives them away their humanity. My father taught me that he learned from his years in the desert in the military that GOD is often find in each one of us in our silent, faraway from temple of stone and books. Father use to pray among rocks on the desert. We in our family have two moto’s: 1- your freedom stops where others freedom begin ( very hard to follow, not for beginners, only for experts). 2- GOD IS THERE FOR EVERY ONE. The way you choose to follow him is not important not for him anyway, but the way you listen and open your heart to him it is, and it is the only thing you alone and only can do in your on way. My story is mine, it is what it is, but I hope it will brings hope in the future and in all of us as humans. ❤❤
